Crooked & 13th Gate Halloween Tracks
Two more Halloween tracks via The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge.
The first is Crooked by Dave O Mahony: "1st try out with the new TR606. SH101 bass & pads. Tom Waits on vox. Done for the MuffWigglers Halloween post..."
The second is 13th gate from Mark Harrop: "Don't you hate it when you start patching a modular on Friday the 13th and end up opening the gates of hell?
Seems like that wasn't a copy of Allen Strange bound in human skin after all.
Stupidly simple patch. Synthi trap gen and uVCF modulated by S/H CV being mutated by Plague Bearer."

CLAVIA NORD LEAD 3 20-VOICE PERFORMANCE SYNTHESIZER

"At first glance Nord Lead 3 may look like a 'beefed up' Nord Lead 2 but don't let your eyes fool you - it's a completely new synthesizer. With the first Nord Lead, Clavia introduced the "Virtual Analog" concept: analog synthesis emulated in real-time by digital signal processors, coupled with a fast and immediate 'one-knob-for-each-function' user interface. With Nord Lead 3 "Virtual Analog" is not a correct definition anymore - it can do so much more. Take for example the new sound engine: a combination of traditional shapable analog waveforms and an extremely user-friendly 2 or 4 operator FM engine. It's about all you need to create most types of electronic sounds. Like before, no samples or wavetables are used - everything is generated in real-time for outstanding sound quality and expressiveness. With Nord Lead 3 the 'Virtual Analog' synthesizer steps up to a higher level. That's why Nord calls it an 'Advanced Subtractive Performance Synthesizer.'.."
The Nord Lead 3 departed from the characteristic Nord Lead sound of the 1 and 2, which later returned again in the Nord Wave and now the 4. It is definitely an interesting synth in history.

"The Red Square V2 is a analogue monophonic, patchable synthesizer with 1/4" jacks housed in a rugged 19" 5U metal case.
VCOs feature separate glide controls. Waveforms are triangle, saw and square and each has a dedicated level control. VCO1 has additional sync input and a sub-oscillator that is routed directly to the mixer. The mixer blends noise, ring mod and an external signal as well. 24dB Moog filter with CV resonance control and cross modulation from VCO1. VCA with 3 modes (EG1, Gate, Thru). EG1: attack-release with switchable sustain. EG2: ADSR with positive and inverted output. VC-LFO with saw, inv saw, square, triangle. Other features are Sample&Hold, Midi/CV-interface, three sets of multiples and a headphone output."

Casiotone401's DIY Modular & Voltage Controlled Kaoss Pad Module
This is the latest 12 videos on Casiotone401's DIY Modular. You'll find more on the YouTube channel here. Although the appearance of the modules look like Serge, not all are. Note the lack of banana jacks. You'll find posts referencing the modules in Japanese the the Go the bleep to sleep tumblr. Some of the modules include an Arduino based Quantizer, Synthacon VCF which references both the YuSynth and CGS models, an ACX Synth - e Druid LFO, and a CGS Serge Voltage Controlled Slope, and the VC KAOSS Pad KP3 module below.

Serge - Heavy Random Pad
Published on Oct 30, 2013 djangosfire·144 videos
"Set up a pair of DUSG as oscillators (4x separate VCO's in total) - into a Variable Q VCF.
Also, used a Precision Oscillator mixed with the Bnadpass out of the VCF mixed into the Wave Multipliers... lower module.
Manually surfed the sounds as the SSG sampled "notes" from one of the Slopes.
All sounds Serge + TC Electronics Flashback x4 delay.
Thanks for watching!

Fauxpocalypse
This one submitted in the spirit of Halloween via John Keston on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge
A bit of a gear demo as well.
"This is the fifth in a series of mixes that I am creating by improvising on the DSI Tempest synched to the Korg Volca Keys, which is in turn synched to the Korg Monotribe. Minor editing for length and simple processing has been applied, but there's no extensive post-production or mastering. Produced in preparation for the event Pop-Up Northrop: Postfauxpocalypse on October 24, 2013"
