"It's not the ROM. It's the other one.

MDSYN is Stigma Audio's 16-track synthetic percussion sequencer: every sound is synthesized in real time. It is a reinterpretation, not an emulation — no firmware, no ROM, its own engine.

This video is a single live take: a run through twenty presets, pattern switching on the fly, a look at the FX, SYNTH and ROUT pages, track mutes, step pages, save and reload, and the delay and reverb sends. When the knobs move on their own, they are being played from an LPD8 controller over MIDI CC.

This plugin comes from my personal collection. Maybe I'll release it one day, but probably not in this design. It is a personal project, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hardware manufacturer; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.

This project recreates the Wave using the original Waldorf firmware, with the current release available for macOS as standalone, AU, VST3 and AAX.

"UMWELT is a synthesizer made for listening. Press the capsule to generate an autonomous ecosystem with its own weather, tuning, four creature groups, and occasionally a language. Drag across the landscape to rotate the view. Active sounds light up and create ripples, revealing which group is active. The capsules along the top recall recent worlds.

Take your time with each world. Populations grow and decline, day turns to night, storms pass through, and the creatures copy each other's songs with small mistakes, so the same world sounds different ten minutes later.

Beautiful to look at, beautiful to play, beautiful to program, beautifully sounding and showing on camera.
Powered via usb-c, expandable memory, lots of connectivity, clear interface (yeah, hard to believe, innit?), delay and reverb so cheekily good that I don’t feel the need to attach it to pedals that would cost at least as much as the instrument.

rare birds: MXR Model 113 Digital Delay

"When I first heard of this 1976 digital delay I excepted a lo-fi, harsh and dark delay. I was so wrong... This unit sounds surprisingly warm and clean for a digital fx of that era. Of course if you select the 2.5 Khz preset (which gives you up to 1280 ms of delay if the unit has 4 memory modules like this one) it's very lo-fi. But up to the 10khz preset its really clean.
And I didn't expected it to be such a great modulation fx. You can get anything from chorus, phaser, flanger to ring modulation.
Delay signal can be phase reversed by pulling the mix knob, which is what you want for modulation fx, and the sweep frequency also has 2 modes you select by pullling the knob.
The delay time can be externally adjusted, by mean of CV signal or a simple expression pedal. The later works great with guitar when the unit is in phasing/flanging settings, as the pedal acts like a kind of wah pedal. Here are some examples of what you can achieve with this unit. Though I didn't demo it, this delay sounds also great on keyboards.

"Ambient electronica where an OP-1 field lead floats over soft harmonies.

Today marks the 1000th consecutive day of posting Daily Sound Experiment videos on YouTube. The playlist itself has now reached 1,018 entries.

This piece was created with the Prophet-10, Music Easel, Ambient Engine, and OP-1 field.

The Prophet-10 is processed through the MICROCOSM with reverb and the HAZE effect.

On the Music Easel, a lead is performed using the key. The output is processed through the blueSky with reverb, while an additional filter in Ableton Live is modulated during the performance.

In Ambient Engine, samples including ocean waves and forest sounds are loaded and transformed with the MicroLoop effect to create evolving sound textures.

On the OP-1 field, a lead is performed with the Sampler. A small amount of modulation is added using the built-in CWO effect, followed by reverb from the MOTHER effect.
