The New Moog?

Sorry, had to. : ) It's actually the Midimax Keyboard controller for Creamwares Minimax. It was showing in NAMM 2004. Just ran into it again on this VSE post.
One Lucky Kid
Title link takes you to a slew of gear shots including this one. I ran into this link on this post on the-gas-station, but when I reached the last shot I relized it was the same one in Analog Industries GPF post this week. PSProject. ARP 2500 and more.

Rhodes Chroma Printouts
Title link takes you to Rhodes Chroma printouts added to the Rhodes Chroma site. "There are books for sets 1, 2, & 3; and sets 4 and 5. These are printouts, I believe from Fender's Apple II software, of the program parameters of all the factory patches." Might be interesting to try these patch settings on other synths and see what comes out.

The Bahn Sage Makes a Come Back!
Remember the Bahn Sage? Word has it it's featured on page 14 of the April issue of Keyboard Magazine. Can't wait to get my copy. BTW, the same Elhardt that does the insanely impressive emulations, like the Jupiter 6 covering Freebird, was the man behind the Sage.

Misprints of the Synth World

Update: Make sure to check out the comments in this post for some other interesting examples.
Thought this was interesting. Peter Forrest of Spheremusic and the VEMIA auction called out that the Korg PS-3100 up for auction had LIMITER misspelled as LIMITTER. Ron West posted a link to the image below where you can see it. According to Peter Forrest the mistake was caught and later models were corrected. I wonder how many other synths have unintentional misprints. I know many of my posts do. : )
"I was just having a last play on the Korg PS-3100 that is in the auction ending today, and saw that this one has the spelling mistake LIMITTER on its front panel. It's serial number 712139 - presumably an early one, before it was spotted and corrected."

Korg Mono/Poly Samples
Two Korg Mono/Poly Samples.

I am jumping on this one a bit late (DSL has been down) but here's another example of the Mono/Poly solo which I originally I posted last year. 5 minutes of noodling, me getting carried away with the arpeggiator and lots of modulation options, as it is so easy to do. That's a Stage Echo tape delay it's routed through.

There is Balance in the Synthiverse
Apologies for being down most of the past 24 hours. Blogger had a few hiccups with affected not only me but a number of blogs out there. I've been catching up and WOW, Moogulator has had quite the burst of posts while I've been out. Title link takes you there. Some drool worthy stuff going on there. There is balance in the synthiverse.Update: Moogulator tells me the post that featured this shot was about another commercial site that used the shot without giving credit. That is just wrong. It's the equivalent of stealing it, because people visiting your site have no reason not to assume it's yours. Bad mojo. It really pisses me off because I go out of my way to make sure I give credit when credit is due and I definitely don't mind people posting about stuff on my site as long as they give me credit. I won't link to the offender in this case but I will call them out - they are called Phonostar. You can see the full post on Moogulator.

HGPF on Analog Industries
And it's a synth one. Title link takes you there. Thought the following intro was kind of funny: "Old Schoolers Anonymous. Check this shit out. No computer, beeyatch! He makes songs the old fashioned way. He types them in to an MC-4, one note at a time, like Real Men Used To."

Metasonix S-1000 Wretch Machine on One Blue Monkey
Title link takes you there. Video under date, under title. Eric Barbour controls it with the Eowave Persephone picutred below. He also triggers it with the on board joystick. Thought that was pretty cool in that it actually does the triggering in addition to pitchbend so you can control the joystick with one hand and adjust knobs with the other sans midi controller.

Title link takes you to some synth demos by Ron West. Synths featured: Korg Mono/Poly, Moog MicroMoog, Yamaha CS-15, and Roland System 100m. Also check out his other links. It's worth noting Lenny the Lemur helped him with these. Who needs a cat when you have Lenny the Lemur. ; )
Jupiter 6 Does Freebird
Another from Elhardt. Title link takes you to the MP3. Has to be heard to be believed. I have no idea how he does it....
"The entire demo is all JP6 through the Johnson J-Station amp simulator,
except the bass which is straight JP6 by itself. No other keyboards or
synths used.

The Samchillian Tip Tip Tip Cheeepeee
There's been some buzz on The Samchillian midi controller. I just took a look at these two videos (one, two) and it does look interesting. The first video is the current design floating around while the second video is the original design using what looks like a custom ergonomic qwerty keyboard; just like the one you use with a PC. The Samchillian website (title link) actually has a sofware version of The Samchillian so you can try it out yourself. You will also find instructions on how it works. The second video does a good job of showing you it's flexibility - you can chose various scales including some in depth microtonal scales that allow you to have 40 notes to the octave instead of the standard 12. Pretty interesting stuff.
