Roland CR-8000 analog drum machine

"This is a superb fully analog classic drum machine, one of the first programmable machines, and the forerunner to the famous TR808 (although I prefer the CR8000).
Serial number 400640, i believe it was made in 1980/81."

Vintage Roland CR-78 w/ Kenton Midi SN 770490

via this auction

"In order to really take advantage of the sounds of the CR-78 I sent the unit to Kenton in London England and had them install a KADI port so I could connect the unit to a Pro Kadi unit. This allows you to control each individual drum sound via midi. I remember the first time I connected my newly retrofitted CR-78 to my Kenton and my Atari 1040st running cubase. I was blown away. To my ears, the kick on the CR-78 is better than the kick on my TR-909 and TR-808. (I still love them though.) I was drawn to the CR-78 because of the great interface that almost forces you to create new ideas. In my opinion when you add the ability to control the CR-78 via midi you get the ultimate analog beat experience. In order to use the midi function you will need one of the Kenton midi interfaces that has a KADI port. You will need a Kenton Pro-Kadi, pro solo, pro-4, or pro-2000."

Trax RS-1 Rotasynth Analogue Synth & Sequencer

via this auction

"Includes MIDI input for easy MIDI Clock sync to your MIDI-based computer or keyboards...

Here's the manufacturer's blurb:
The Rota-Synth is a desktop 8-step analogue sequencer, coupled with a monophonic, true analogue synthesizer. It does not use a keyboard like a conventional synth, but instead generates musical sequences and sound effects that you program in real time.

Use it to create rapidly repeating musical phrases, grungy riffs, retro computer game effects, rolling basslines, off-the-wall rhythmic patterns, dub sirens, weird sci-fi effects, plus sounds yet undiscovered....

No clumsy menus to wade through - just switch on and go. You get full, hands-on control via knobs and switches.

Sequencer Section
There are separate pitch controls, toggle switches and yellow LED indicators for each step - creating sequences is fast and easy. The Sequence Length switch lets you change the number of steps in a sequence "on the fly"; great for improvisation in live performances.

You can synchronize the sequences to any electronic musical instrument that has a MIDI CLOCK output (just connect with a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI lead).

You can also sync. the sequence to a computer running music software which outputs MIDI Clock, in which case you will need an optional USB to MIDI lead (available on eBay).

PLEASE NOTE: the RS-1's MIDI Sync. input will only respond to MIDI CLOCK, START and STOP commands - it is not possible to control the actual pitch of notes with MIDI.

A 0 - 5.7V control voltage output is provided, along with a +5V gate output, for driving other analogue equipment such as synths and drum machines. The CV output is suitable for both V/Hz and V/Octave synth systems.

Synthesizer section

FULLY ANALOGUE voltage-controlled oscillator, with triangle and square wave outputs. No glitchy digital oscillators here! Huge frequency range, tuneable from a few Hz. to almost ultrasonic frequencies.

Full frequency modulation of the VCO by a low-frequency oscillator, for anything from a simple vibrato to devastating hyper-modulation! Waveshape control for even greater versatility - create whoops, ultra-slow sweeps and trills.

Turn up the Glide control a little to slide smoothly from one note to another - perfect for dreamy, melodic sequences. Turn it up further, and you are in the Twilight Zone!

Two square-wave sub-octaves can be mixed with the VCO's output for a fuller, fatter sound, perfect for basslines and organ-like effects.

True analogue state-variable filter for "Moog" (TM) style effects, with manual sweep. Selectable Bandpass or Lowpass response.

Add your own effects pedals to increase the range of possible effects even further!

The RS-1 will work on any mains voltage between 110V and 240V ac, via the supplied mains power adapter.

Dimensions: 278 (W) x 173 (D) x 95 (H)"

"PHILTERTRON" Hand made effects unit for Mellotron

via this auction

This is part of the Brendan Pollard / Rogue Element studio sale. See the seller's other items for more.

"A specially made effects unit literally a "One Off" made by Adrian Dolente at Synthrestore. I had this made specifically for use with one of my Mellotrons. Its basically a "Moog" style 24db ladder filter on one side and a Phaser on the other. You have realtime controls over volume/amount of phaser and filter. There is also a useful jack at the rear for a footswitch which is sometimes the way I used to use it. Also on the rear there is "In" and "Out". On the front panel there is an on/off toggle switch and immediate access to fuse...

So her home was in the Brendan Pollard / Rogue Element studio... [mp3 at the auction while up] You can also see a little sample of the unit in action here [below] starting at around 4:48 although the effect is quite subtle on the video recording."

Bohm Soundlab Modular Synthesizer

via this auction

This is part of the Brendan Pollard / Rogue Element studio sale. See the seller's other items for more.

"So here we have a very Rare Bohm Soundlab Modular Synthesizer, these hardly ever turn up for sale. Comes in its own wooden case with power supply and a European 2 pin plug.

Made circa early 80's although some report these back 1979. Curtis chips and banana jacks. Basically the modules include Amplifier, VCO, VCO, Noise, Random, LFO, S&H, Ring Mod, Mixer, Multimode VCF, VCA 1, VCA 2, then the module on far right was specially made as an extra for me which includes 2 extra mixers in and out with adjustable pot plus the 2 jack inputs at the bottom of the module are for CV and Gate. There is a gap where I sold off one of the modules a few years ago which was the incredibly rare Digital Sampling Module. The second Oscillator is currently hard wired to the first as there is a problem with the spring push button "KBV" . Both oscillators will be calibrated before shipping and everything else checked over."

24HOURS: The Roolz-Gewei from Klaus Gstettner on Vimeo.

"This is the first try on a truly unique instrument:
Finding out about Peter Blasser and his beautiful instruments was maybe the major encounter of the last years. Seeing and hearing videos and all available audio on the net was all I needed: I had to get at least one of these outstanding creations that reveal their unique personality from the first moment, so I mailed Peter end of january and was lucky enough to unpack a custom made Roolz-Gewei and a Cocostuber already yesterday night, about 1 1/2 months later.
Thank you so much Peter - they exceeded my expectations already when unpacking them.
Also, thank you Hex and Bartlebooth for getting me started so easily - you are amazig :-)"

RARE Elektron MonoMachine SFX-6 Keyboard Synth

via this auction

"The SFX-6 is a limited edition of the original SFX-60, with an integrated 3-octave LED-action keyboard, MULTI-TRIG key and specialized sound manipulating super-smooth dj-style joystick.

*One important highlight of the SFX-6 model is that it offers six additional MIDI tracks that can be used for controlling external MIDI gear. MIDI control data can be generated realtime, with parameter locks and with LFOs. Each MIDI track offers a full implementation of the Monomachine arpeggiator.

This is a rare item - The keyboard version of the MonoMachine was made by Elektron in a limited run edition of 500 units made worldwide.
Getting harder to find these days. It has the exact same functions as the latest model, with the sole exception of the latest MKII version taking user waveforms. The Latest OS works perfectly with this model, and the unit can also be upgraded by Elektron to include a +Drive."

"The Bug XII" a Folktek Instrument by Ben Houston

via this auction
"This custom piece is part of a folktek series entitled "philanthropoid"". Known simply as the Bug series. Also in the series on the site and around the world is the Mantis, dronescape sequencer, the book of sound, the moth, the growling insect, the bug, the octa-hedra, walking stick, pendulum translator and others. The sound is phenomenol and continues to amaze us. It is a sonic symphony of nasty and grimy sweetness, endless layers of sound possibilities emenating from High quality OSC originally based on high tech speech synthesis. Seemingly random bits can be rediscovered time and time again and then there are those moments that you will most likely never rediscover. Endlessly captivating, this piece WILL provide sounds that you will not find in other synthesizers and will astonish you every time you turn it on.

This particular piece features four patchable knobs, and a twelve point magnetic patchbay. This allows you to determine function and provides tons of flexibility. In addition, two more knobs (global knob control and power kill) , glowing lamp power indicator , 2 folktek button/switches for activate and freeze mode sections, reset, 1/4" output, basic manual of function and layout. You'll be able to cipher through waveforms and textures with extreme sensitivity in thousands of ways. Waveforms (individual, or multiple layers) can be captured and maintained, often intermodulating in beautiful and/or disturbing ways. Super sensitive knobs let you filter through tons of sounds and glitchscapes. Albums are waiting to be created here as the sound is quite different from anything else you'll find.."
