Giorgio Sancristoforo's Compusynth 400 Released for Mac - Windows Version Coming in January

via Giorgio Sancristoforo

"Compusynth is a modular synthesiser that takes inspiration from the west coast paradigm and the mighty Altair8800, one of the first personal microcomputers available to the hobbyists in the mid 70s.

With its peculiar 128 bit sequencer, oscillators, filters, efxs and processors, Compusynth is a powerful sonic laboratory thanks to its generous resources and flexible routing with 1596 patch points!

Compusynth has everything I ever dreamt about west coast modulars: enough resources to create tons of sounds with the addition of a large memory sequencer and a fantastic tape echo.

Compusynth can make weird experimental sounds as well as traditional fat synth sequences that will serve any music genere with its warm and deep tone.

Out now for Mac OSX at giorgiosancristoforo.net. Windows version is scheduled for January 2023."

Ongaku Demo and Tutorial

video upload by Giorgio Sancristoforo

"Ongaku is the sister panel of the infamous Bento japanoise box.
This panel has different features including LPGs, delays and reverb. With Ongaku you will create new sonic worlds from cavernous soundscapes to vibrant generative pads in the style of Eno’s, to unpredictable noises or super bongo action west coast style… It is so organic that it feels alive. See for yourself how the probabilistic clock can create amazing strange rhythms."

New 弁当 Bentō Noise Box From the Maker of Berna 3 & Gleetchlab

Demo and Tutorial video upload by Giorgio Sancristoforo

"Bentō is a noise box inspired by the Japanoise scene.
An instrument for live improvisation and sound design with a distinctive, extremely warm and lively character. You can create an analog fat wall of sound with its unpredictable oscillators, filters and feedback circuits. Record to magnetic tape and export your sounds or connect Bentō to your DAW using a virtual audio driver.

Discover a world of organic, aggressive, unpredictable and warm noises.

Available at giorgiosancristoforo.net

Windows version out soon in the next 2 weeks."

Japanoise inspired noise box

FAT AND ALIVE
If you think that software can’t sound hot and organic like analog equipment, prepare to be surprised by this crazy noise box. Bentō uses custom designed unstable oscillators, filters, feedback networks and tube saturation which will bring you incredibly fat sounding noises and organic waveforms.

Crisp super fat sound?
Hell yeah!

Try the factory presets of the demo and hear for yourself

DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE
You don’t need anything else. Just open Bentō and you are ready to smash the stage with a huge wall of analog sound.

Bentō is a perfect tool for live improvisation, drones, and sound design.

You can use any virtual audio driver to connect Bentō with your DAW, just in case…

RECORD ON TAPE
A cute tape recorder with many tape simulations is at hand to record your sound and gigs

DON’T BE SCARED BY THE INTERFACE
Can’t read Japanese? No problem, the manual will teach you how to use Bentō, or you can get lost in translation and appreciate an intuitive approach.

Rituals of passage, esoteric societies, initiation, are the leitmotif of this collection of sound meditations that immerse the listener in a place where time flows differently, where sound surfaces build filamentary mosaics of imperceptible passages. At each step, initiation is an ever deeper immersion into the Interiora Terrae cited by Basilio Valentino, implied in the iconology of the Mons Philosophorum. In order to welcome the light, the adept must first know the shadow, this is why the Greek μύστης were brought into the basement of the Eleusinian Temple before receiving the light of initiation: to die and resurrect. This shadows gradually thin out like a mist that evaporates, allowing us to perceive the details of an inner world that only silence can reveal.

Tropical Additive Synthesis Introduction and tutorial on MaxMSP

video upload by Giorgio Sancristoforo

"In this video I present the Tropical Additive Synthesis that I and Dr. Cristiano Bocci have developed in 2018 as a new form of sound synthesis that uses Tropical Algebra.

We hope that developers and builders will implement tropical additive synthesis both in software and hardware for the future generations.
We don't ask anything but a credit as creators of the synthesis algorithm which we call Trop(x[n])."

"Berna 3 early electronic music studio simulation is coming!

The 1950s studio gets a complete restyle and many new devices.

"THE LEGACY
I remember in 2009, when I was working at the first release of Berna, that first and foremost, Berna was my love letter to the RAI Studio di Fonologia Musicale, the electronic music studios of the national radio and television of Italy, founded in 1954 by the composers Bruno Maderna and Luciano Berio.
The Studio di Fonologia has been an obsession for me for many years. It was the better equipped electronic music studios of the 50s, with a lot of devices created ad hoc by the Italian Physicist Alfredo Lietti, who literally scavenged the RAI warehouses to collect all the electronic parts from broken or unused devices. The Studio was directed by Berio and Maderna, first, then by Luigi Nono, and for me these three composers are the sacred trinity of the classic Italian avant-garde. I immensely love their work and their legacy.
But behind the buttons and the mixer console, there was always the prototype of the modern sound engineer and producer: Marino Zuccheri, the technician in white coat that assisted the composers and very often created the sounds of the masterpieces of Italian electronic music. Zuccheri has been an immense inspiration for me, as a sound technician myself, and to his legacy I, once again, dedicate this new version of Berna.

Introducing Points&Lines Experimental Music Software

video by Giorgio Sancristoforo

New from Giorgio Sancristoforo, available at www.giorgiosancristoforo.net in the software section.

"Points & Lines is a new software dedicated to experimental music, drones and sound design, based on classic subtractive synthesis.

However the number of the available tools (20 oscillators, 20 VCAs, 20BPFs and 20 Pan channels) makes it a unique software capable of complex sounds and atmospheres seldom easily available in classic synthesizers."

"CLASSIC BUT DIFFERENT
Points & Lines is a new software dedicated to experimental music, drones and sound design, based on classic subtractive synthesis.

However the number of the available tools (20 oscillators, 20 VCAs, 20BPFs and 20 Pan channels) makes it a unique software capable of complex sounds and atmospheres seldom easily available in classic synthesizers.

FROM TINY SOUNDS TO HOURS LONG PIECES
Changing the score length can transform your composition radically in an instant. The complex trajectories of frequencies, pan, amplitude and pan can evolve in just 1 second, or in hours.

UP TO 80 OSCILLATORS
You can record up to 3 stereo tracks of 20 oscillators each, and play them along the live score to create massive 80 VCO, 80 VCA, 80 BPF and 80 PAN music.

Later you can export the separate tracks and edit them in your favourite DAW."

Cosmic Rays Music - Prototype Realtime Score and Sequencer Software

Giorgio Sancristoforo

"Working at the prototype of my cosmic rays realtime score and sequencer software.
The software is connected to a muon particle detector that sends realtime data to the computer. The ADC values are converted to MIDI notes as well as fingering for my ancient greek kithara (κιθάρα). I will use this software and detector for my forthcoming ambient music performance κόσμος (Cosmos)."
