Recently I published a video in where I was comparing Arturia's iMiNi, a minimoog emulation clone app to Model D which is MOOG's own minimoog emulation app. Before starting the comparison I asked viewers to take part in a poll and see if they could spot a Moog from a non-moog. That tests included Propellerheads Thor as a non-moog-clone reference. Well, votes has been counted and seems like Thor was the most Moog out of them all...well at least most of us thought so before the actual comparisons started...so maybe Im being a tad hyperbolic?

Moog Model D is a synthesizer app that emulates the Minimoog. It's available for both iPad and iPhone with audio extension unit support ( AUv3 )."

"OP-Z dub music! All sounds heard in this track is coming from the OPZ by Teenage Engineering. The Audio was recorded directly into the iOS camera app through an apple Lightning to USB (CCK) dongle. I also pre-recorded my vocals with my iPad. I then processed the audio in Cubasis before sampling it directly into the op-z through the CCK.

The video material was captured using an iPhone 6s and I edited the video with LumaFusion on my iPad Pro."

Ever wondered why you can’t find any videos on my channel featuring MODULAR synthesizer that requires patching through cable wiring? Go ahead and search my 700 videos and you’ll quickly realise that I haven’t made any videos on Modular synths requiring virtual cable patching either (well there’s is one, but it’s not about a synth per see). I simply do not like the wiring-like workflow that these types of synths call for. Now, you have to see this one though because Jim here is tasked with ... changing my mind. Can he do it?

"I've always loved the SuperSaw sound! But what is this sound really and what makes it sound like it does? In this episode of haQ attaQ we're diving deep into the Synthesis of the SuperSaw sound and also the Synthesizers that can produce it. A lot of synths can produce this sound, but not all synths are created equally and so they all differ when it comes to unison mode, voice doubling, detuning and pitch automation.

For those of you who dont know, Drambo from BeepStreet is an extremely powerful modular synthesizer, with a simplified routing system and Elektron-esque sequencer all in one. Want to know more bout the "haQ box"? Stay tuned!

Even though this video is highly edited, the performance featured here comes from on single take using two cameras and one iPad screen capture. I've also added in some B-stock footage of me making the custom Sensel morph layout."

"I’ve been using a wide range of Synthesizers and synthesis methods, both analogue and digital, for the past 25 years to make a huge amount of sounds. I’ve made sounds for my own productions, sounds that I’ve given away and I’ve also been hired by synth developers to make preset packs. But I’ve realised that I rarely use the sounds I make and I always end up making new sounds when I produce music.

So for once I wanted to see what would happen if I only used my own “finished” sounds, recording stuff on the fly. To do this I needed my recording setup to feel “organic” and instant, something that wouldn’t require me to do anything else but to press record and just play. It turns out that Loopy by A tasty pixel together with a thoroughly mapped out KORG NANOKONTROL Studio MIDI controller was the answer. I’m only using VOLT Synth by Kai Aras aka Numerical Audio and the haQ paQ sound pack (that I was hired to make) as my sound source. I made the drums with DM2 by Audionomy."
