Cherry Audio Mercury-4 - Sound Bank '79

video upload by Polydata

"Patches for an excellent sounding instrument. Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for the Cherry Audio Mercury-4 finds its inspiration in synthesizer music found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A bank comprising 30 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Roland Jupiter-4 analog poly synth. I honestly never payed much attention to the Jupiter-4, but this plug-in sounds insanely good, it's one of my favorites now. And the included Roland Space Echo emulation sounds superb.

Sound Bank '79 is a series of vintage tones for different synths and plug-ins, so look out for future releases. Recorded completely dry with no external effects or processing.

Cherry Audio Elka-X - Sound Bank '79

video upload by Polydata

"Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for the Cherry Audio Elka-X finds its inspiration in synthesizer music found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A bank comprising 30 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Elka Synthex analog poly synth. While designing this bank, there's one word that kept coming to mind: lush. There's a beautiful smooth and rich tone to this instrument, and paired with it's unique set of features, it's hard to beat.

Sound Bank '79 is a series of vintage tones for different synths and plug-ins, so look out for future releases. Recorded completely dry with no external effects or processing.

Softube Model 80 - Sound Bank '79

video upload by Polydata

"Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for Softube Model 80 finds its inspiration in synthesizer music found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A bank comprising 30 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Sequential Circuits Prophet-5. Part of the magic of the Prophet-5 design was it's clear workflow, enabling you to get a wide array of sounds quickly. I'm happy to say that Softube have stayed faithful to this simplicity that has helped this instrument to endure all these years.

GForce / Oberheim SEM - Sound Bank '79

video upload by Polydata

"One of the most beloved, unique and musical sounding synthesizers has been perfectly recreated by GForce and endorsed by Oberheim. A classic design with a wonderful sound that just works. This plug-in is a tool that is simple, yet can fit so well in a wide array of productions.

A bank 30 patches for instant inspiration and to help you get working quickly. The goal was to highlight the raw analog tone and musicality of the SEM design, primarily working within the constraints of the original Oberheim module. This is one of my favorite mono plug-ins, and a perfect way to get that sound without spending thousands of dollars.

video upload by Polydata

"Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for the Sonic Projects OP-X Pro-II plug-in finds its inspiration in synthesizer music found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A bank comprising 30 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Oberheim OB-X analog poly synth. This plug-in sounds SO GOOD. There are some awesome plug-ins out there that are each great in their own way... this one really has a remarkable authenticity and realness to the sound that is incredible.

video upload by Polydata

"Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for the Cherry Audio Memorymode finds its inspiration in synthesizer music found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A bank comprising 40 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Moog Memorymoog analog poly synth. There's a unique richness to the sound of a Memorymoog, along with it's expanded feature set, and Cherry Audio have definitely captured that.

Arturia Prophet VS - Summer School '86 Sound Bank

video upload by Polydata

"You really blew it this time. You failed Chemistry. Now you have no option: you have to go to summer school. A hot walk every morning and a hotter walk home. Emptier hallways, quieter lunchroom and no chance of sleeping in. But one afternoon you go to the local music shop and get to try out a new instrument: The Sequential Prophet VS. All-digital oscillators with vector cross-fading. You've never heard anything like it, and it's sound seems to keep echoing in your head all summer...

A bank of 30 patches showcasing the unique beauty of this instrument's design and sound, while still focusing on warmth and musicality, and providing a complexity not found in other Polydata sound banks. The sound that will always take you back to that summer.

** Note: This is for the original "Prophet V3" plug-in, not the newer "Prophet VS V" plug-in that comes with V Collection 9. Please ensure you have access to the correct plug-in before purchasing. **

The goal was to highlight the raw analog tone and organic behavior of this instrument, primarily working within the constraints of the original Oberheim 8-Voice. This plug-in sounds fantastic. If you looking for the SEM sound, especially the polyphonic SEM sound, this is the only game in town without spending five figures.

Arturia Buchla Easel V - California Sound Bank

video upload by Polydata

"Drawing from the unique sound and heritage of Don Buchla's synth designs, the California Sound Bank provides instant inspiration with carefully crafted "West Coast" sounds, leaning on more subtle and classic sounding patches.

A bank of 30 patches for this excellent and authentic sounding recreation of the Buchla Easel. Each excerpt begins with the patch with no external effects, then with Ableton's Delay mixed in to provide enhanced context, since many of these patches are more like textural or rhythmic elements, which could be used on their own or as an underlying bed for other sounds to be stacked on, whether in a song or film score.

A bank comprising 40 patches for instant inspiration. Prophet '08 Bi-timbral Sound Bank

video upload by Polydata

"An exploration of stacked patches with the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet '08 (or REV 2). I've often found bi-timbral patches cheesy, uninspiring, or just not useful. I sought to create this bank to show how powerful and beautiful patch stacking can be. It needs to be approached with care - not just slapping two sounds together, but carefully tailoring each sound to complement each other and blend into a single unit that is greater than the sum of it's parts. Nuance is key.

30 carefully designed bi-timbral patches for instant inspiration. Recorded completely dry with no external effects or processing. Note: these patches will also work with the Dave Smith Instruments / Sequential Rev-2.

A fantastic synthesizer which is a widely-loved classic for a reason.

Arturia Prophet - V - Sound Bank '79

video upload by Polydata

"Drawing from the earliest days of polyphonic synthesizers, Sound Bank ‘79 for the Arturia Prophet-V finds its inspiration in synthesizer music found in documentaries and library music from the late 70’s and early 80’s.

A bank comprising 40 patches for instant inspiration. The goal was to squeeze as much vintage analog juice out of this plug-in as possible, primarily working within the constraints of the original Sequential Circuits Prophet-5. I own a real Prophet-5 rev 3.2 and still love the analog mojo of this plug-in.

Note: This is for the Arturia 'Prophet V' (V3) plug-in and not more recent 'Prophet-5 V' plug-in which has a different synth engine. Also: please note that most of these patches are saved with "Reset" as the Play Mode at the bottom of the plug-in window, but you may want to change it to 'Circ' based on your needs.
