Leipzig-S Sequencer Tempo
Published on Aug 24, 2014 alternatingbitmusic
"A video response to a question about MIDI tempo control for the Analog Solutions Leipzig-s. While you can't really cut a tempo source in fractions, you do at least have the capability to alter the sequence tempo via other means."

FutureRetro XS vs Vermona DRM1
Published on Sep 21, 2015 alternatingbitmusic
"Just a glimpse at the sheer, raw analog power of the FutureRetro XS monosynth. Sadly I had my compressor settings a bit too harsh... only I got to experience the amazing sound live, but you get the idea. Interestingly this sequence sounds a lot like the 1st track on an EP I did 6 months ago: https://downscope.bandcamp.com/album/..."

OTA Lowpass Filter Test - Corsynth C101 vs MOTM-440
Published on Mar 5, 2015 alternatingbitmusic
"The Corsynth C101 is an impressive filter with a classic Roland sound, but how does it stand up to the MOTM-440 OTA Lowpass Filter? Perhaps my demo will shed some light.
"Both filters are based on 4 cascade OTA stages.
The C101 uses the OTA chip LM13700 while the 440 creates the same OTA structure using matched NPN / PNP pairs."

West Coast Random Source 266c Dotcom Q107 modular loop
Published on Nov 20, 2014 alternatingbitmusic
"Still exploring the benefits of the WCRS 266c module.
Outside of the 266c CV outs, there's also a Sample & Hold module at play. Two oscillators and a Dotcom State Variable Filter produce the sound. Enjoy"

Ice Machine - Depeche Mode cover intro
Published on Sep 7, 2015 alternatingbitmusic
"Just a snippet of what could be a cover version of Depeche Mode's "Ice Machine." This track is my favorite song by them and so I decided to see what I could do with my gear. The notes aren't entirely accurate, but it was fun to do anyway.
Original song copyright 1981 Mute Records."

Basilimus Iteritas Magnus 5U mini demonstration
Published on Sep 28, 2018 alternatingbitmusic
Re-Published on Sep 29, 2018
"Thought I'd demonstrate this unit by Noise Engineering and how in additional to really wild and crazy stuff you can also create some rather tame yet still interesting rhythmic elements. All sound in this demo is from the B.I.M. module only, and it is run through an STG Mankato filter."

Studiologic Sledge INIT & Preset Scrolling/Selection Bugs
"AVOID the Studiologic Sledge (Sludge) Synthesizer!!" Published on Jul 19, 2018 alternatingbitmusic
"I made this to save you the trouble. I WANT to love this synthesizer but sadly the system is UNSTABLE, even at version 2.5.1. Ghosting patches, INIT patch freeze ups etc. I contacted the company and the matter was downplayed and I didn't even hear back in the final round of questioning. I sent it back and got a synth with a stable core."
Any other Sledge users see this problem?

FutureRetro XS semi-modular monosynth demo
Published on Apr 19, 2014 alternatingbitmusic·71 videos
"I think its cool how a monosynth can spit out such an array of sounds at once. I started a sound that had a percussive element to it and I thought I'd share with you all. Everything you hear is live from the FutureRetro XS, with CV in from a sequencer for voltage & gate only. The final output has a touch of delay for flavor. Enjoy."
