1. diy bullfighter brown midi synth demo
"this thing has 2 CGS vcos in it, a CGS digital noise, a CGS morphlag, an CGS Steiner Parker VCF, 2 CGS LFOs, a 3080 VCA, a MFOS ADSR, a power one linear supply, an EFM MIDI-PORT and four mixers. the switches allow you to select VCO 1/ VCO 2 or DIGITAL NOISE As the inputs to the Highpass, Bandpass and Lowpass parts of the filter. The incoming MIDI CV is processed by the Morphlag for attack/decay portament and linear/expo response, the other switches act as a modulation matrix from the 2 LFOS, ADSR, Digital NOISE and CV input to the 2 VCOS and VCF cut off. The Vcos can cross modulate each other. single midi in, CV out, GATE out and audio output. VCA is slaved to ADSR w/ volume knob. the wood sides and top are from a discarded matador mexican velvet painting. clock and beat are from mpc1000, sequence from frostwave fat controller"

2. brown diy synth demo
"this is a cv/gate controlled analog synth - cv/gate input controls 2 566 VCOs which go through a CEM3372 MIXER/VCF/VCA chip w/ additional MFOS ADSR and CGS Psycho LFO and single Utility LFO - contains a CGS Real Ring Modulator. beat + clock from mpc1000 sequence from frostwave fat controller. cv and gate are from kenton pro2000"

3. diy brown neon lamp NE-2 synthesizer
"synthesizer using only neon lamp tubes. five NEON lamp chaser on top w/ range switches and pitch. three neon lamp sub oscs that divide the neon lamp chaser chain. each suboscs output POWERS the NEXT subosc generator. another few neons lamps act as modulation source to the power of the neon lamp chain. all of this goes through a final neon lampsubosc and through a passive capacitor low pass filter via rotary switch. 180V powersupply. 1/4" out"

4. horrible brown sequencer synthsizer
"some 4047 vcos, a opamp vcf, a weird sound generator as an lfo, a 386 amp, a 4017 8 stage sequencer, a 555 as a sequencer clock, switches for pitch, vcf cutoff, resonance, weird sound generator modulation, master pitch, and switches for modulation matrix - has very loud internal speaker but using the line out - can be externaly clocked"

5. toteable brown gutter diy noise synth
"a single 4046 phase lock loop as a vco, a burned pic digital noise, a 4017 and 555 based 8 step sequencer, a 13600 based vcf, a opamp based lfo, some leds and big knobs. can be external triggered"

6. super brown boson huffer diy sequencer synth
"seven 4047 vcos ring modulating each other through 4070 chips, going through a band pass filter and then a simple low pass gate. the eight step switches send pulses to the low pass gate (Vca/vcf), the vcos are sequences via vactrols. a final 386 amp adds lots of distortion if needed. sequencer is 4047/4017 - can be external clocked"

MFOS WP-20 Experimental Analog Synthesizer & 8 Step CV/Gate Sequencer

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

See this post for a demo of one in a different case.

"WP-20 experimental analog synthesizer which also comes with a 8 step CV/Gate sequencer, along with N.American power supplies and two 1/8" cables for connecting the CV and Gate input/outputs together. Please check out the pictures of this unit as it has a very unique hand made look. The cases are aluminum with hand stamped labeling.

This is one wild unit, capable of much more than its humble specs indicate. It really shines in wild FM sounds, but can also play nice warm analog tones as well. But please be aware, if you are looking for a traditional synthesizer - keep looking! There is no MIDI and its VCO does not scale to V/Oct. Although it is certainly will play nice melodies using the 8 step sequencer you should not buy this thinking you are getting a Novation Bass Station, this is an 'experimental' synthesizer instead.

- VCO with square and triangle
- A VCF with resonance switchable
- VCA
- Loopable A/R generator with a manual trigger button (can get into audio range in loop mode)
- LFO with saw/triangle and square waves (which can also get into audio range).

There are 1/8" inputs for CV (pitch) and Gate (to trigger A/R).

The 8 Step sequencer has, you guessed it - 8 steps. But you can switch between 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 steps via the "steps" knob. 1/8" outputs for CV and Gate as well as a 1/8" input for external clocks (but note - some of the clocks from my modular would trigger the WP-20, and others would not).

If you would like to hear some of what this machine is capable of, I recorded a 10 minute track using the WP-20 as the sole sound source along with the 8 track sequencer (I also ran the WP-20 through some effects pedals, including a Cimmerian Caves and a home made spring reverb - plus some VST effects). Listen Here:

https://soundcloud.com/artificial-noise/wp-20-sessions

It is an odd unit, certainly not perfect - but if you use its for its strengths (and not focus on its limitations) you can create some very interesting sounds. Lo-fi, warbly and weird is how I would describe it."

TF50 Modular Synthesizer

YouTube via MRBLITZER. via D/A A/D
"The TF50 Modular Synthesizer doin thangs."
Update: some additional info from MRBLITZER:
"It contains:
3 x MFOS VCO
MFOS 16 Step Sequencer
MFOS Dual Lin/Log VCA
MFOS Noise/Random Gates
MFOS ADSR Envelope Generator
Thomas Henry / Magic Smoke Mankato Filter
Thomas Henry Quadrature Function Generator
Homemade Balanced Modulator

It has some problems and needs a case built, but it works! It will go in a folding case with some modules I built on the other side.

I designed and screen printed the panel myself, a friend of mine built the circuits, Jason Power ( http://www.myspace.com/slappingpurses ). I learned enough from him to build my own modules from now on!"

Voice of Saturn Sequencer - Endif Style

Uploaded on Jul 12, 2008 cephal0p0d·59 videos
One more video featuring the Voice of Saturn Sequencer sequencing the MFOS Sound Lab Ultimate.

"My build of the VoS sequencer.
Bought the PCB, had most of the parts already.

They also sell varying levels of kits, or prebuilt, so whatever your skill/interest level, a VoS is within reach.
http://www.curiousinventor.com/kits/v...

Instead of pots and knobs I used some sliders I had lying around. Upgraded the LEDs to some big fat obnoxious blue ones I'd been using for throwies and such. Case used to house the firing controls to an MX missile.

Face plate is 1/8 inch aluminum stock from some Amazon seller. Small Parts I think. Anyway. Laid it out on the back side, drilled out the pilot holes with a 2mm bit, then went larger as needed. Filed down all the rough edges, then sanded it all down til it was 1200 grit smooth and gave it 3 coats of glossy clear coat. Looks nice.

Used a router attachment on my Dremel to do the slider holes. They're rough, but they work. Cleaned them up with some files. Next time I do it on a sub-plate and just cut one big hole. Pots and knobs are soo much easier. =P

Mounted the PCB to the face plate with 1 inch standoffs. Battery holder wound up on the plate too. I went so far as to drill holes for them on the bottom of the case, then realized that this would *suck* when it came time to change out the batteries, or whatever. Bad idea. Definitely mount to faceplate.

The build went smooth, everything worked correctly except, predictably, the sliders. I had never worked with sliders before, and didnt have any docs on these, so I winged it. First try was wrong. Second try was closer. Third try was correct. Sliders are much more intuitive than knobs. Linear.

Next step is to label this thing. I can't keep referring to my chart. =/ Maybe I'll hand paint it.

So, the video.

Sawtooth is from the Blacet VCO. Meaty little bastard. Filter is the Harvestman Polivoks clone. Nasty, unpredictable, awesome. Envelope generator is another Blacet. Rest is explained in the vid.

Anyway, here's 2 minutes of me messing around with it.
Enjoy. =]

Oh, and if you want to hear the project this will be used with, check out my work at http://www.myspace.com/endif

Thanks,

~!J!"

Modular Drum Machine - Synthesizers.com + Yusynth + MFOS

YouTube via Thalassa77
"http://switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot.com

This patch emulates the classical sound of the drum machines from the 60s-70s

The core of this patch is white noise generator , that is filtered using a multi mode filter.
The sequencer CV out is controlling the the 1/cvt input of the filter, so you can program on the sequencer different filter response for every step.

The filter has individual outs for filter types, here I'm using high-pass and band pass connected to a mixer and mixer out is conecto to VCA .

The VCA is controlled by one ADSR that is triggered by sequencer gate out.

Modules used in this patch :

Yusynth Noise Generator
Synthesizers.com State Variable Filter
Synthesizers.com 4 Channel Mixer
Synthesizers.com Envelope Generator
Synthesizers.com Amplifier
MFOS 16 Step Analog Sequencer
