Din Sync to Release RE-303 - New Roland TB-303 Clone PCBs
RE-303 - its not a clone, its a replica
Published on Oct 28, 2015 phono1337
"more info at http://www.re-303.com http://www.dinsync.info"
It looks like Din Sync is coming out with a new DIY"replica" clone of the TB-303. There have been plenty of emulations of the 303, but only a handful of actual clones. There was the x0xb0x was based on the schematics of the original 303, Cyclone Analogic's TT-303, and most recently Abstrakt Instruments Avalon Bassline Synthesizer which I've been told has circuit boards that can be swapped into an original TB-303.
The FAQ via http://www.re-303.com:
"Ok ill start with a few obvious questions, feel free to ask more and I'll try to answer them for you.
Q: What is the RE-303?
A: the RE-303 is a replica of the Roland TB-303 motherboard and switchboard
Q: Why do we need yet another 303 knockoff?
A: There have been many clones, I honestly wanted to make a genuine replica. Now the dead TB-303's with broken motherboards can come back to life and new TB-303s can be born.
Q: Hasn't this been done already?
A: Actually no, not in the purest form. We've had the x0xb0x which sounded very close but didn't look the part. We've had the TT-303 which looks that part but is not a genuine replica of the original hardware. The RE-303 circuit boards have been made by dissecting a mint condition pristine TB-303 and manually recreating the board in CAD from the hardware rather than the service schematics. Every nuance and mistake in the hardware not in the service notes is recreated in the RE-303. It really is for all intents and purposes a TB-303. [Note: I was told the Abstrakt Instruments Avalon Bassline Synthesizer boards can be swapped]
Q: When can I get one?
A: As soon as they are ready, just post on the waiting list thread. By the nature of this project It's likely to be limited, so first come first served.
Q: What about kits?
A: This is likely to never happen sorry, this project is probably going to be the most hardcore DIY many have tried. But it will be worth the effort!
Q: What about rare parts, the VCA and CPU, memory chips, switches pots etc etc.
A: There currently exists many solutions for these today and I'm actively working on some as part of the project.
Q: How long will this all take?
A: How long is a piece of string?"

Din Sync DrumDokta2 Firmware Update 1.2
via Din Sync:
"Whats new:
RESET BEHAVIOUR
Added the ability to change the reset behaviour. Some users have reported the clock lagging by a 16th when clocked from Circadian Rhythm or Trigger Riot. This was due to the way the reset was handled. The new mode fixes this.
To change the reset behaviour, hold shift at power on to toggle. The step led will briefly show either steps 1-4 lit for the old reset behaviour or steps 5-8 for the new reset behaviour.
CLEAR MEMORY (formerly present but undocumented)
Holding bank and powering on the DrumDokta2 will erase all the contents of the memory. Please use this with caution as there is no undo from this.
Updating the firmware can be done using audio into the clock in jack, in most cases the file will need to be amplified (it is unlikely to work from a smartphone without boosting).
you can download the new firmware here DD2_FM1.2.zip"

New Din Sync AMNESIA Eurorack Module
via Paul Barker of Din Sync on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge
"ok you might have guessed, its the trigger equivalent of the ModSeq. What we have here is an 8 step trigger sequencer that puts out around 10ms triggers. It has no tracks or memory hence the name and is aimed at being used for live performances. Works equally well with drums, great with lpgs or any other trigger duties. The clock thru is buffered, so you could use it to multi your clocks, or just buffer any signal. Should be available in about 4-6 weeks."

Introducing the MODSEQ by Din Sync
Published on Jan 12, 2013 phono1337·108 videos
"more info at http://www.dinsync.info"
"Here's a quick demonstration of the first eurorack offering this year, it's the MODSEQ. An 8HP eight step roto sequencer with a difference, it only has four knobs! Essentially the MODSEQ is aimed at those times you need an extra sequencer for doing modulations, the effect is something akin to a sample and hold, but programable rather than random. Of course adding a clock divider and patching up the reset alows you to use it as a standard four step sequencer. You can even drive the clock at audiorates and use it as a square wave oscillator. These will be shipping in around three weeks, and as usual the waiting list is now open, pricing tbc, but it most likey be our cheepest offering to date. So if you want to get on the waiting list, drop a line to info@dinsync.info"
