"If you're looking at this listing, you're probably well aware of what this is and is capable of. If not, here's an excerpt from Wikipedia:

"The Tenori-on is an electronic musical instrument designed and created by the Japanese artist Toshio Iwai and Yu Nishibori of the Music and Human Interface Group at the Yamaha Center for Advanced Sound Technology. It consists of a hand-held screen in which a sixteen-by-sixteen grid of LED switches are held within a magnesium plastic frame. Any of these switches may be activated in a number of different ways to create sounds. Two built-in speakers are located on the top of the frame, as well as a dial and buttons that control the type of sound and beats per minute produced."

It's basically is one of the most fun & innovative electronic music production hardware/instruments. You can use its inbuilt sounds or import your own samples. You can connect MIDI and use the sequencer as master/slave or a controller etc etc. It can be as easy or as deep as you want it.

Condition:

Unit is cosmetically in great condition. All buttons, jog wheel and switches work perfectly and feel great. Lights and screen perfect in operation. Ports and jacks all in excellent condition and connect without issue. Sound is clear and strong from output."

Derezzed (Mile High Edit)

"This is a video from my 2013 archives. It's a cover version of 'Derezzed' by Daft Punk called 'Derezzed' (Mile High Edit)". My rig at the time was Ableton Live, Percussa AudioCubes, Moog Etherwave Theremin Plus, and Tenori-On sending MIDI notes to an Ableton Rack with VSTs. I used the Machine to control the arrangement in Ableton on-the-fly and to live sequencing the parts I wasn't playing live as well trigger clips in Live to automate changes in Resolume. The AudioCubes were used to trigger and control effects through gestures, as well as add 4 more dimensions of gestural control for effects for the Theremin. I used the Tenori-on to improvise a lead :^)

This video is actually a vehicle to illustrate show design concepts from my 2010-2015 Dark Sci-Fi Techno Show which was in support of some of my original sci-fi theme peformances. MODX + Cubasis as MIDI sequencer (detailed tutorial)

"If you are like me and enjoy composing in MIDI sometimes, you may be interested to know that it's pretty darn easy to use an iOS device as your midi sequencing brain with the MODX.

I've only had Cubasis for a week, and I've only had the MODX for 3 weeks, so there might be a more elegant way to do it that I'm not aware of, but here's one workflow to consider.

It’s in good condition. No dents. All the buttons on the front are operational. All the lights in the back work. I am including a plexiglass stand with the tenori-on. It has an awesome clock function when you are not making music and looks great in the stand at night."

"Jamming with some of my favourite Synths. Memorymoog plays a Sequence synced 24ppqn, Linndrum synced 48ppqn, Quadra modified for Trigger Sync and CS-30 driven by Midi-synced Tenori-On. Imperfect solos are not really intended but unavoidable... and the ending should have been an end, not a sheer stop...

Yamaha Joins with Allihoopa to Give TENORI-ON Musicians the Optimal Sharing Experience

"BUENA PARK, Calif. (March 13, 2018) – Yamaha has partnered with social network Allihoopa, empowering users of the Yamaha TNR mobile music-making apps to share their work and collaborate online.

The two iOS apps make up the mobile version of the Yamaha TENORI-ON, the groundbreaking electronic musical instrument. These apps allow intuitive music creation via a simple, user-friendly interface, without the need for specialized training.

The Allihoopa partnership allows musicians to collaborate with the world using a mobile device. TNR-iOS users create music using the original TNR-i and its electronic-music counterpart, TNR-e. Once they have a finished piece, they can “Drop” it and share directly with the Allihoopa community. From there, others can 'Pick Up' the track, add recording elements of their choosing and 'Drop' it back to Allihoopa for further collaboration.
