Another stocking stuffer. You can find Gristleism at forced exposure. It also looks like there's a full blown Grisleizer on Ebay as well. Remember to check out the Stocking Stuffers label below for more holiday gift ideas.

Loomer String for Mac, Windows and Linux

From Loomer who brought us Aspect (previously posted here)

"String is a virtual instrument that emulates the beautiful sound of the polyphonic string synthesizer.

Divide-Down Oscillators
String's authentic tone comes from its accurate emulation of the divide-down oscillator technology behind the lush ensemble synths of the 70s.

Dual Layer
String has two individual sound generating Layers, each housing three phase-locked oscillator stops at 16', 8' and 4' ranges for Layer 1, and 8', 4', and 2' ranges for Layer 2. The relative volumes of each stop can be finely tuned to produce an enormous range of timbres. Both Layers have controllable note split points. Layers can be placed so that each is controlled by a specific range on the keyboard, or even overlapped and stacked together.

Five Voicing Modes
Each Layer has its own Voicing Mode from a choice of Monophonic with Last, Low, and High Note Priorities, Paraphonic, and Polyphonic. In Polyphonic mode each voice has its own Attack/Release amplitude modulation envelope. In Paraphonic mode all voices within a Layer share a single monophonic Attack/Release amplitude envelope. The Monophonic Modes produce a single voice, which can be either the Lowest, Highest, or Last note pressed.

Five Filter Types
Layers can be further shaped using the monophonic Filter section. This section has several Filter types; a Highpass / Lowpass pair of filters in series, an analogue resonant filter in either Lowpass, Bandpass, or Highpass modes with various modulation options (including Channel Aftertouch), and a 9-Band EQ. The Filter section can also be switched off altogether.

Flexible Routing
Both Layers can be individually routed into the Effects section. Layer 1 can also optionally be routed directly into Layer 2's Filter to produce serial Filter tones.

Effects
String's Chorus section is modeled on the bucket-brigade device that characterized the sound of the classic ensemble synths. Select from two different Chorus algorithms for either an authentic Ensemble timbre (Type 1), or a more modern, denser sound. (Type 2). A built-in stereo Phaser can be used to add movement, depth, and interest to String timbres. The Effects section is rounded off with two mono bucket-brigade device delay units with independent time and feedback settings, which can be tempo synced, and linked together into a single stereo delay.

Full MIDI Learn
All controls can be easily mapped to a hardware controller using the simplified MIDI Learn feature.

With optimised audio algorithms that won't overload your processor, rock-solid stability, and easy integration with any MIDI hardware controller, String is ideal for live work. With a simple and intuitive interface, flexible Bank and Program management, and total parameter automation, String fits right into your studio environment.
String is available for Mac OS X v 10.4 and above, Windows XP and above, and Linux, in Audio Unit, VST plugin, RTAS for Pro Tools 7 and above, and Standalone application formats.

An evaluation is available for free download, with the following limitations:

* User created Program and Bank configurations can be saved, but not loaded.
* Output will be periodically interrupted, approximately every 30 seconds, by a short moment of silence.
* Audio output will stop after 30 minutes of continuous use. The only way to continue using String is to restart the application.

Purchasing a licence will remove these evaluation limitations.

A licence entitles you to lifetime free updates for String."

Waldorf Blofeld | demo (1 of 2) by syntezatory.prv.pl

YouTube via Jexus

"Demo of 2007 Waldorf Blofeld. All sounds & arpeggio lines programmed by WC Olo Garb. Video editing by WC Olo Garb.

Stuff going on:
M - Notes triggered by external midi device.
S - At least one oscillator uses a factory sample, so this sound cannot be achieved on the desktop version without the license.

The patches do not comprise any external/custom samples."

Pulsemonger MKI :: Guitar Demo :: SYNTHMONGER 2009

YouTube via synthmonger
"My friend Devon is playing an SG that's running through Pulsemonger plugged directly into soundcard.

Don't worry the original Pulsemonger has not been completely discontinued. I'm redesigning it in a larger case to better accommodate all the controls as well as adding some new ones."

Baldwin Fun Machine Organ and Rythm Machine

via this auction

Don't miss the videos below.

"vintage 1970's ANALOG BALDWIN FUNMACHINE ORGAN (Model 121F) Synthesizer Piano Keyboard!!!

This is the Organ that put the Optigan out of Business!" ??

"It is all analog, its reliable, high fidelity sound, and better than the Optigan in my opinion since there are NO discs required, so YOU DON'T have to run around like a DUMMY on eBay or antique shops looking for a Disc to make it work! This is the machine that put Optigan out of business!!! It is a FUN MACHINE!!!

OBERKONN

via this auction
Click here and scroll for some prior posts featuring the OBERKONN including video.

Details:
"industrial VCF I call an OBERKONN. This is a very distinct vcf in which I focused on Sine Oscillation as it's main character.
Every input on the VCF has a big range. In otherwords you don't simply turn the knobs all the way up otherwise you will have crazy big big sound! This big sound only applies to Analog VCO signals. On Line level it will only bring it to Synth level, it will not push it as hard. You can either dial in clean or head into hard fat saturation (synth signals).
The Filter will self Resonate into a clean Sine Wave. As you go up the Sine Wave pushes harder and harder.

The panel is made of plexiglass and Actual Color is Yellow. The knobs are soft touch grey and green in color.
The jacks are switchcraft high quality 1/4 inch jacks.
The box is a blue Utility box, so the unit is lite weight. When you see it in person you think Lego.

THE FILTER IS NOT SEM OR CEM BASED. IT IS BASED ON DISCREET PARTS AND THE GOOD OLD LM13700. I LIKE THIS BETTER!

The filter is a 12db Variable state filter that offers LP, BP, HP outputs.
These are the features of the FILTER side:
-offers LP/BP/HP outputs
-has a bi-polar FM input
-has a normal cv attenuator
-has (2) audio inputs, there are (2) pre-amp trimmers inside the unit (i have them set to about 85%)
-has a Rez CV input with attenuator

The Audio inputs were intended for Analog VCO's. You can input Line level Sources but to achive the best Signal to noise ratio I recommend to use a Pre-amp to boost your signal. There are onboard
Pre-amps on the unit but they are not the cleanest or studio quality like your A&H mixer. Those onboard Preamps Fatten Analog Synth Signals(WAVE FOLDING!!), but on line level they only bring up the volume.
Out of the VCF's I have sold, this is a CLean sounding filter. Harsh is not it's main character.

Compared to the Steiner or LM4250 VCF, you can hear exactly when the Sine wave Whistle Begins."
