E-Mu Morpheus Z-Plane Synthesizer Demo Video

"My patches on the E-Mu Morpheus. Released in 1994. Ballsy. The internal Z-Plane architecture (with 14-pole filters) enables you to make an insane number of sounds and morph in real time using a mod wheel. Back in the day, people bought it to do studio groove, funk acid dance. I hated that sh*t. I use it for rich orchestra, strings and ambient sound patches. No external effects were used in this recording."

"This is a 5 minute demo showing off the tonal characteristics of the SVF-201 filter. The video also demonstrates how the filter can be modulated at audio rates and achieve intense sounds, unlike most vactrol-based filters."

Up for auction is a red vintage Simmons SDS-1 EPROM-based electronic drum pad in working condition, including 66 different Simmons EPROMs that are also compatible with Simmons SDS-7, and SDS-9 drum synths.

The EPROMs included with this auction are reproductions of original Simmons EPROM chips, most of the chips are original Simmons EPROM sounds, and is rare to see such an expansive library of Simmons EPROM chips being offered on eBay. I have posted recordings of all of the chips in this auction being performed by the SDS-1 in the link below.

Le Shat Noir - MATRIXSYNTH Card Sighting and a Letter to Make Noise

via Tony Rolando of Make Noise on Facebook:

"Funny letter we got. We are not using the record as a place mat fwiw. — with Le Shat Noir and Matrixsynth Jones."

That'll get a post.  :)  Their influences listed on Facebook are William Shatner.   Can't go wrong with that.

Couldn't find any eurorack action on YouTube but I did find some Novation Remote 25 synth punk keytar action:

monstrumWave1 Waldorf MicroWave Editor

"September 4, 2013

Here it is! The long awaited software editor for Waldorf's original Microwave Wavetable synthesizer. This beast of a synth needs no introduction, nor do it's (pre-existing) limitations from a programming standpoint! No longer is all the power of this amazing synth trapped inside endless menus previously accessible only through a 2 line LCD, a knob and 6 buttons...

How does 142 selection boxes, 55 sliders, 68 knobs and 47 buttons sound?

Features include: Interactive Wavetable and Startwave Visualizer, Wavetable and Waveform Editor, Edit sound names from GUI, Visual Modulator Matrix, X-Y Modulator (parameter per axis), Store, Compare and Recall sound programs all from within monstrumWave1! and many more. You can load, edit and store back to the synth any sound program, waveform or wavetable. Load wav or aif files into monstrumWave1, edit them then store them into userwaveforms for your own custom wavetables!"

You'll find it on monstrumMedia here along with dedicated editors for the MicroWave II/XT and Waldorf Rocket synths.

via the developer Rob Wentz in the comments of this post on MATRIXSYNTH-P:

"Just wanted to follow up here that monstrumWaveXT is currently a stand-alone editor, VST/AU functionality has been "downgraded" to "beta" status.

This is all because I restructured things so now monstrumWaveXT does not require any ctrlr install to work. There is a monstrumWaveXT application file for the stand-alone editor (which now has full wavetable and waveform editing and arrangement ability!) and there is a beta VST for os x and one for Windows. Development is ongoing and I'm getting a lot of great feedback from users, so the "beta" should be lifted from the name in due time.

Also on a similar note I recently released an editor -monstrumWave1 for the original Waldorf Microwave. It has all of the features monstrumWaveXT has in terms of parameter AND waveform/wavetable editing capabilities."

Oribtal's Live Rig

via Tim Mantle on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge

"In response to a recent Orbital post, sorry about the quality of this shot. I had work to do Royal Albert Hall"

Synth spotting: I'm guessing that's a Roland Jupiter-6 on top, white MacBeth M5N, Jomox Sunsyn, Moog Voyager, DSI Tempest, & iPads.  Not sure what's to the right of the Tempest.  The notch & colors almost look like a MicroKORG, but the keys look too large.

What synth would you pick?

Update via Tim on Facebook: "All ipads and novation controls immediately to the right of the tempest. Phil on the far left was in control of the desk, 303, 909, some outboard effects and in fact the sh9 I mentioned earlier. A mac book with Ableton is what actually went next to the Jupiter 6"
