via the seller: "This auction is for a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 rev. 3.2 with MIDI, 120 patch memory, operator's manual, and an Anvil flight case. The keyboard is in very good cosmetic and functional condition. I had all of the key bushings replaced about 7 years ago by Wine Country Productions, used it on two short recording projects shortly thereafter, and it has been in storage ever since. Consequently, the next owner should think about doing a thorough cleaning of the key contacts. Back in the day when I was using this regularly I used to do that about once a year. It is not a difficult job, but it is time consuming. If you find this task to be daunting, I don't know that I'd recommend a Prophet 5 or any other j wire keyboard to you. With that said, this unit has been very reliable over the years and very stable, which Rev. 3.2s and 3.3s are famous for. I've owned this since the late 80s and never had a single failure with it, although I did invest in maintenance (e.g., key contact cleaning--until I learned how to myself, changed battery, replaced key bushings--all of the things that go bad with time and use). For what is probably useless trivial to most potential buyers, I acquired this in the last 80s from the keyboard player for Stacy Lattisaw (the gospel, pop, R&B singer--info available on the internet). I only bring this up because if you look carefully, you will see the impression/outline of her name stenciled into the flight case on the top. Shortly after acquiring this I had a MIDI retrofit installed by Wes Taggart at Analogics. Keep in mind that this is an almost 30 year old retrofit on an almost 40 year old keyboard, so don't expect modern features like aftertouch. However, all of the MIDI functions are performing as they did the day the retrofit was installed. I cannot say enough about how great this instrument sounds.Features include: 5 Voice Polyphony with 2 oscillators per voice (10 oscillators total), 120 memory slots for storing patches, oscillator 2 can also function as a secondary LFO, waveforms are square / pulse / tri / saw, LFO can be routed to OSC 1, Pulse Width, or the Filter Section, -24db Lowpass resonant filter that sounds incredibly rich and smooth,CV and Gate for external control. Foam in the flight case was replaced within the past 6 months so it will be good to go for many years. It is rightfully regarded as a holy grail among analog polyphonic synths."

Desh Thillana - Carnatic music on iPad 1st time ever by Navneeth Sundar - Animoog App

Published on Jan 13, 2015 Navneeth Sundar

iTunes: Animoog - Moog Music Inc.

"Navneeth Sundar, a composer and pianist from Chennai, has recently discovered that the touch screen provided by the Apple iPad can be used to perform different kinds of music, including Carnatic music (South Indian Classical Music). The app used in this performance is "Animoog" created by "Moog Music Inc". This particular patch, created by Navneeth himself on the app, is specific to a particular ragam or scale, which in this case is the ragam Desh and its parameters can be tweaked to suit other ragams, which makes it possible to explore the myriad dimensions and expressions there are, in Classical Carnatic music.

Pranaams to Shri. Lalgudi G. Jayaraman, the legend, whose Desh Thillana composition we've performed here.

Thanks to Sumesh Narayanan and Harihara Sharma for the accompaniment. Thanks to Madhana Gopal for his awesome work behind the lens and on the edit and delivery in such a short notice. Thanks to Lijesh Kumar for recording the performance and to my best buddy Aalaap Raju, for letting us use his lovely studio - Voice and Vision Studios, Chennai to record and shoot the performance."
