Moog mars musings part iii

"Continuing to upload these, here is part iii

Back in January 2004, when NASA’s Rover Lander touched down on Mars, Todd Barton began creating and posting a one minute daily music composition based on that day’s image from NASA’s website. Using his new Signature Moog Voyager as the exclusive sound generator, a looper and an effects pedal he created 110 Moog Mars Musings tracks.

Soon after the first few posts Edmund Eagan responded with the idea of tying each score to a current Mars image. Near the end of February Edmund started to create and synchronize his video manipulations with the music and posted those on his site.

The mars musings project ran online every day from January 25 to May 14th, 2004.

Here are the second batch of 20 of the Moog Mars Musings project. More to follow over the next few months."

New Make Noise LxD Lowpass Gate Eurorack Module

via @ctrl_mod / Control

via Make Noise
"The LxD, Low Strike Duo, is a dual-response, two channel, direct-coupled, Low Pass Gate, which utilizes vactrols in order to provide simultaneous control over the Amplitude and Frequency Spectrum of an INput Signal. It is, in essence, a VCFA (Voltage Controlled Filter Amplifier). Unlike the Optomix, the LxD offers two different filter responses. CH. 1 offers a 12db/ Octave response that is mildly-resonant, while CH. 2 offers a 6bd/ Octave that is non-resonant. The OUTput of CH. 1 is normalled to the INput of CH. 2. This normalization puts the two channels in series, which is similar to the VCF into VCA arrangement made popular by many monosynths of the 1970’s.

Classic VCF->VCA arrangement in small 4hp module

STRIKE INput allows use of Gate signal to trigger Low Pass Gate circuit, "plucking" or "striking" the vactrol

Low noise, low distortion, smooth, natural-sounding circuit

Direct coupled, process audio or control signals

Utilizes 2 vactrols

Pairs well with STO and MATHS"

"You are bidding on a way above average condition Sequential Circuits Pro One. . THIS IS NOT A J WIRE MODEL. This unit is a membrane keyboard. It is in almost Museum quality Cosmetically as far as the main black and white synth goes. As you can see all writing is mint all knobs look new, all name plates are present and look great !. The two wood end caps are in Good condition and show minor standard blemishes if you look very close. The key bed looks perfect with straight keys however it is the membrane key bed and although the whole synth is recently serviced, the key bed does misfire quite a bit when not played regularly ! The more you play it the more it breaks in . After about 2 or 3 days of playing it starts to work pretty good with only the occasional misfire. However the CV and gate in's and outs work perfect, So i would recommend this synth to be controlled by a modular rig ! That is what i have done,! It has reg CV gate for oscillators and separate for the filters !! The unit is 100% functionally, apart from the normal issues associated with the membrane keyboard. As you probably know if your looking, This unit is an Analog Bass Monster, It keeps its tuning very well and will shake things off the wall of your studio ! Its no Joke, that’s why people pay for these...LOL Believe me if i didn't really need the money...I digress.."
