FAEMI-M first test

Published on Dec 28, 2015 V. Kulla

"First test of a rare soviet faemi-m synth from the 70´s...tremolo, vibrato from synth. Starting with a dry sound and when i start sweeping the eq i also start adding some reverb and distortion. Sound is recorded through a soundcraft mixer into a focusrite scarlett interface."

Ginko Synthese Sampleslicer Eurorack Module

"What does the Sampleslicer do?

The Sampleslicer is a real-time monophonic sampler, including a 16 step voltage-controlled sequencer. The incoming sound is chopped up automatically into 16 parts by the incoming clock signal and spread out over the16 steps in the internal sequencer.

How long can it sample?

The length of the recorded sample is set by a clock-divider, so the recording time is always linked to the incoming clock signal. You can choose between time divisions of 1, ½, ⅓, ¼ and ⅛.

If the divider is set to 1 the total sample time is equal to 16 incoming clock-pulses.

If set to ½ the sample length is equal to 8 incoming clock-pulses, spread over 16 slices (so half the time). It will produce even more glitchy fun when set to ⅓, as it will spread 6 steps over 16 slices. The maximum sample time is about 15 seconds and the minimum sample time is a fraction of a second for granular noises."

Beautiful track.

Volca Beats Mod: 3 New Pure Noise Snares

Published on Dec 28, 2015 Mark Steiner

"The known Snare fix is great, but I prefer a fully undistorted/folded noise snare... so I looked and found 3 variations. I'll be adding a switch for 'Off, S1, S2, S3'."

Published on Dec 28, 2015 Bastl Instruments

"for more information about the upgrade go here
http://www.bastl-instruments.com/gran...

for details of upgrading please refer to this video [embed below]

So ! what is the upgrade about?

-adds new feature to change the sample by CV
-the threshold for changing samples corresponds to 1 semitone of quantized voltage
-if CV changes the sample is changed at the threshold or is changed only at the rising gate signal (depending on the mode)
-minor UI bug fixes
-more stable
-improved stability when functioning with SPA"

Sequential Prophet 6 - Step Sequencer Overview

Published on Dec 27, 2015 ProckGnosis

"Basic overview of the step sequencer from the Prophet 6 module, which, I'm happy to report, is AMAZINGLY simple to use, and it's fairly similar to the Moog 37 for easy programming. And according to Dave Smith, the module offers the EXACT same capabilities as the keyboard, minus the keys and bit of the price.

Not addressed at ALL in the video, is how AWESOME sounding this synth is! If I had one dream synth as a young'un it was a Prophet 5. For a VERY thorough review of the Prophet 6, check out a series of vids from Marc Doty at AutomaticGainsay. [you can find them here.]

I actually got the Sequential Prophet 6 a few weeks ago (an early Christmas present), but I couldn't leave it under the tree, and I've been playing with it instead (new Dreadbox Hades synth DID arrive to go under the tree and opened on Christmas morn!! Review of that is in the works).

Cheers!"
