Endorphin.es - Grand Terminal *FIRST PATCH*

Published on Jul 19, 2018 DivKidVideo

"Here's my first patch and first play around with the very lovely (filters and FX sound great!) Grand Terminal from Endorphin.es. I'm using the function generators to modulate both the WTF prototype oscillator and the internal filter then using the on board reverb (lovely frozen / infinite verb trail on it) going into a VCA to side chain against some drums before getting mixed together for the patch. I have a track recorded to release later in the year with this as well as the full in depth demo coming in the not too distant future."

How To Make A Joe Goddard Track

Published on Jul 19, 2018 FACTmagazine

Synths come in after 2:00: Yamaha CS80, ARP 2600, Oberheim OB-Xa.

"Studio secrets from the Hot Chip member and producer.

London producer Joe Goddard has quite the career under his belt. A founding member of Hot Chip – who he’s been performing with for 18 years – Goddard has made six studio albums with the band, released two solo albums, DJs regularly and even runs his own record label, Greco-Roman.

But how does the man that helped to write countless Hot Chip hits and produced the 2011 classic ‘Gabriel’ make a track? We visited his production space in east London to get an insight into his creative process, where he gave us a step-by-step guide to making music with vintage synths, classic rack effects, Just Blaze drum samples and Cubase. Listen to the finished track below."

Published on Jul 19, 2018 markusfuller

HP sizes explained in the video.
***Its better to NOT ground the MIDI in socket*** as I did in the video at 11:00. now ground has been removed from MIDI in."

"Even greater control of your groove creation – for free!

The evolution of Novation Circuit continues, with v1.7 bringing some hotly-requested powerful functions, including Pattern Chain Sequences, Tied/Drone Notes and Synth Micro-nudge. Download the system updater here.

Key features

Make songs

We've expanded what’s possible with the Patterns view, allowing complex sequences of patterns and pattern chains to be made. There's a new Pattern Chain Sequence function, from which up to 32 patterns and 16 chains of patterns can be selected in any order. Patterns and chains can be repeated, and sequences can be build up and easily navigated between. The append setting can be toggled to add patterns and chains to an existing pattern sequence, even when playing.

Create Tied/Drone Notes

Each step now has a tie-forward setting, so it's now possible to tie notes together in order to create drone notes and long ambient pads.

Take music off the grid

It's now possible to take music off the grid by delaying notes on a step from one to five ticks (each step is divided up into six ticks). It's also possible to use Synth Micro-nudge to create new, more complex rhythms like triplets across the beat."

SNARE 2 : a trashy snare with a hint of clap, with adjustable tone and decay.
TOM HIGH : simple but powerful high tom with sweepable pitch.
TOM LOW : pants-shaking low tom that can get so low you could use it as a 2nd kick.
CYMBAL : zingy, metallic crash with adjustable decay.
COWBELL : a simple but effective percussive cowbell.
CLOSED HAT : hard-hitting hat with variable tone that also effects the Open Hat.
OPEN HAT : open up the hat sound with changeable decay with a mute controlled by the Closed Hat.

"Works very well. In need of refurbishment. Needs new bender wheel, 2 slider/fader knobs and the LED screen that sits over the bank/patch number selector. Also has a splotch of white paint on the body and a bit on one black key that I’m sure could be removed. According to the serial number (525564) this unit was manufactured in November 1976."
