303 DAY: DJ Pierre and the Roland TB-303

Published on Mar 2, 2019 RolandChannel

Looks like this went up a day early. Watch it while you can.

"Today on #303DAY, we celebrate the iconic silver box that defined the genre of acid house—the Roland TB-303 Bassline Synthesizer. With an unmistakable sonic signature brimming with warmth, energy and character, the iconic silver box defined the acid house movement of the late 1980s.

Widely misunderstood when launched in 1981, the true revolution began several years later when electronic music producers rediscovered the quirky box, unleashing the hypnotic, liquid sound that captivated a generation. While we may never really understand why the 303 sound makes people want to dance, there is no denying its power, influence, and unwavering ability to get a party started. It just works, even after all this time."

ARP Avatar Functional Demo

"This video is not to demonstrate how the ARP Avatar works in general. It is rather to show that the functions of this model work as expected. The Modular part is not covered in this demo."

"Mutable Instruments Frames - handmade in France with custom green acrylic faceplate. Plenty of demo videos online to show what a powerhouse of a module this is - 4 channels that can be animated and interpolated amongst one another. Use it as a mixer, sequencer, FX router, it’s limitless.

You can also use the static +5 or +10V option so the knobs deliver DC offsets and interpolate between those values with the big center knob!"

In many ways, the Radikal Technologies Spectralis is the follow-up to the Quasimidi Polymorph. Radikal Technologies was formed by Jörg Schaaf of Quasimidi.

"One of Klaus Schulze’s fav live synths. Check out example video here and others. Analog morph seq is incredible and can trigger external MIDI gear.

Includes 2.01f OS ROM and factory power supply. All controls work

Notes: Very good condition with light wear 1 knob cap is chipped, and a couple of lines of pixels on the LCD take 10 mins to warm up then work fine.

I’m including a replacement display I bought but never installed since I got used to letting it warm up. Also including a set of 10 new encoders to extend life and joy of this 19-20 yr old synth."

Mods:
3x Rotary Wheels
10x SPST Switches
1x SPDT Switch

"Onboard sounds compared to M1 and D-50 synthesizers.

From polynomial.com

40 Modifications via:
3x Rotary Wheels *
11x SPDT (on-off-on) Switches.

* Each Rotary Wheel has 6 bend points on a 12 point rotation (6x on and 6x off positions).
Therefore as you rotate the switch clockwise: 12noon = off, 1pm = bend point 1, 2pm = off, 3pm = bend point 2, 4pm = off, 5pm = bend point 3 etc etc...

These allow for a highly intuitive interaction with the circuit bent interface in real time, and can be employed alone or in combination with other bends to (potentially) create countless tonal, rhythmic, textural and melodic variations (depending upon application)."
