4 Monosynths Under $1000 | Reverb

Published on Apr 4, 2019 Reverb

"If you're looking for synth bass or lead tones, you can't go wrong with a monosynth.

Shorthand for monophonic synthesizer, monosynths will allow you to play only one note at a time. But they promise a rich, versatile array of tones. If however you're looking to play chords, you'll need a polysynth. (Not sure what you want? Take a look at this previous article on monosynths vs. polysynths that can help you make that decision.)

In our video above, Justin DeLay shows off the features and sounds of four different monosynths available on Reverb for less than $1,000 USD, starting from a few hundred dollars:

Korg Monologue: Starting at $199 used.
Arturia MiniBrute 2: Staring at $499 used.
Korg ARP Odyssey: Starting at $500 used.
Moog Grandmother: Starting at $820 used."

Moog One Software Rollback Procedure

That is pretty cool. Wish more synths featured this, although not sure if I'd ever use it. :)

"Another in our Moog One Basics series, this brief one minute demo shows how easy it is to rollback the Moog One's operating system in the event of a problem. No USB drive is required and it only takes seconds to initialize the rollback procedure."

Harbour by THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES

Welcome to HARBOUR Published on Apr 4, 2019 THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES

"A meditative, ambient electronic music piece, celebrating the luxury of the quiet, the introspective and the movement through space and time.

Envisioned to be experienced through noise-cancelling headphones while traveling by railway or aeroplane, yet ultimately crafted for all situations when the listener seeks a closer bond between their mind and the cosmos, leaving their body deeply idle in a state of single-sensory stimulation."

Testing for the first time the small case with the mixer I installed inside. It has 3 inputs, including attenuators in the back, as well as a volume output control. Each Radio Music module is wired internally to an input.

Recording: no efx applied. Direct output from mixer sent to audio interface.

Modules:
* 1 x Grilles with alternative firmware: adding a 3rd mode with 3 tracks of voltage controllable clock divisions.
* 3 x Radio Music v3.2."
