This one was posted back in 2016 here.

"Selling my beloved ARP Odyssey 2800. Purchased in 2016, and previous owner had recently had the following done prior to selling:

"Recent full service treatment. Complete control fader rebuild. Tantalum caps replaced and other normal electronic maintenance issues addressed. Power supply recapped with premium audio filter caps. Keyboard contacts polished and bushings replaced. Fully cleaned and calibrated. This item is in fantastic playing condition. Cosmetically you can expect a few cosmetic blemishes from normal use and transport of a vintage analog synthesizer."

In addition, in 2017 I had the synth tuned and one slider replaced (VCO 1 FM LFO send) by a local synth technician who was a former employee of ARP. Synth sounds fantastic and is in very good shape. It's been meticulously cared for."

Cosm iOS ambient soundscape meditative generative music app demo by Roikat

Published on Jun 8, 2019 Roikat

"A demo of the Cosm ambient music app for iOS from Studio Amplify (aka SoundMind.) Their marketing angle is "improving mental health using sound", but since I'm an Extremely Stable Genius, I'll be using this to generate ambient soundscapes for further processing in other apps or electronic music hardware.

You can learn more about this app at:

Roikat is not affiliated with this vendor, or any other Extremely Stable Geniuses."

"Got hold of a VC340, Djm-900nxs2 and CDJ-2000NXS2 so put together this song. Long one as I'm new fangled with the toys and got carried away. Havent used a CDJ player and mixer before so I may have gone OTT with the FX etc. Novelty Value 🤣"

Roland System 500 versus vintage System 100m and SH-5 Synthesizers

Published on Jun 7, 2019 Alex Ball

"I’ve been leant a Roland System 500 for a video and so the first thing I wanted to try with it was a side-by-side with the System 100m (1978) and SH-5 (1976) as these are two of the heritage synths that inspired it.

The third synth it’s based on is the System 700, but I’m sure you can forgive me for not getting that one in there too!

All-in-all I think the System 500 is excellent, has the Roland family sound and stands up well against the classics that inspired it. Trying to be as impartial as possible, there are a couple of comments I had about it that could be improved which I also mention, but I genuinely think it’s a great sounding and accessible modular synth.

Let me know what you think about it."
