Ieaskul F. Mobenthey and Mr. Grassi

Published on Aug 18, 2019 hajimmie

"Yet another noise jam from I.F.M modules and Mr. Grassi. Here the patching is rather simple - using only single Denum, Fourses, Dumst, Mr. Grassi, and 3Sisters. Despite that I think it come out nice as noise impro."

This one made me think of incorporating touch pads on the surface of eurorack modules vs. separate controller modules.

Volca Drum with an Elektron Sequencer 🤔

Published on Aug 18, 2019 Oscillator Sink

"In my opinion the Volca Drum has the best sequencer in the Volca range right now. It clearly draws some inspiration from a certain Swedish company! Obviously though, at the Volca price point we can't expect a full Elektron style sequencer...

But what if the Volca drum *did* have a full Elektron sequencer?

In this jam everything you hear (including the delay effect) is coming direct from the Volca Drum, but it's being sequenced by my trusty Elektron Digitakt. There's a bunch of MIDI CC parameter-locking and LFO-ing going on, as well as plenty of conditional trigs. The Volca Drum seems to enjoy the experience!"

Zorx Ribbon Controller Review

Published on Aug 16, 2019 Lower West Side Studio

"Lower West Side Studio checks out Zorx Electronics Ribbon Controller on loan from Art For The Ears.

It's a very fun way to control your modular synthesizer."

"The ZORX ribbon controller is an all analog, made in the USA synth controlling labor of love. Hand built from high quality components it measures 27" X 1.5" X 1" and features a 500mm touch sensitive ribbon that controls pitch, filter, etc., a pressure sensor with an attenuator, a N/O or N/C gate function with a momentary push button, and an ancillary knob for LFO rate, filter, or whatever you'd like.

AND IT DOESN’T NEED A COMPUTER/MODULE/BREAKOUT BOX TO OPERATE.
With 5 LED colors to choose from and with textured opaque sidewalls and a clear top & base it looks amazing, too.

SYNCLAVIER TIMBRE CREATION

Published on Aug 17, 2019 100 Things I Do

"Its been a while since I did a Synclavier video so I thought I would show some more Timbre/sound design. I keep it to one oscillator (more or less... the Chorus effect uses 2 voices detuned from each other). Just adding harmonics and FM"

"As far as I know just 10 examples of this interesting exotic were ever made. The technical effort spent in building this module was huge (as seen on the pics).

This module is only available in Modcan A Format - not as an Eurorack module."

Additional Details on Meeblip's cubit go

I wasn't sure exactly how Meeblip's cubit go handled MIDI IN, so I reached out to Peter Kirn for some clarity. Scroll down to the red updates in this post for some additional details on how it works - what it does, and doesn't do.
