"Find Your Sound - Journeys are a series of short films documenting the process of creating original music using sounds we have found across the world with Launchpad.

For the first instalment, we headed out to explore the diverse soundscapes surrounding Lake Como, in Northern Italy. We wanted to create an ambient, downtempo electronica track, and the serene natural environment at the foot of the Alps felt like an ideal space to capture the sounds we needed to make our vision a reality.

I recorded some drones and phrases into ZOIA, Morphagenes and Clouds and then played Peak on top of this bed of sounds.

The Digitone is just used as a Midi sequencer here, it does not make any sounds.

Everything is running through OTO Bim & Bam and recorded straight to 1/4" tape.

"Yep! I finally got the #NovationPeak, especially through the kindness of my friends from Soundcreation.ro - thank you guys! - and there are a couple of weeks now since I can’t stop creating amazing #ambient #patches with this marvellous synth!

With its (it's actually her 😜) "Vangelian" / Blade Runner character, this synth can achieve some amazing sounds, having a very nice modulation matrix.

And the effects?! Good God! Heavenly!

Drones, pads, bass lines, arps, leads, rhythms! - everything you can create has its special vibe, putting you in a Blade Runner mood, for sure.

More videos with Peak to come, as well as a bunch of presets!

"Rough story breakdown - opens, green misty planet, small shuttle appears, crash lands on misty alien planet, drowsy pilot explores around the base of infinitely tall cliffs, in the twilight creatures eyes peer out in the deep forest, breathing, hissing, overhead the occasional space ship blares past, days seem to pass, being followed, distant bells call, see light on hill, panics, runs, enters dark alien 'castle', signs of humanity, but memories, corridors of gruesome happenings, dreamtime, escape from this world, finds unused shuttle on rooftop, flys, escapes over the endless forest, a moment of triumph, but a creature lurks in the shuttle, slo motion struggle, crash, melancholy, it all begins again"

Normally: All the Volcas and the KO2 are routed through MickXer 5 into 1. That then goes into the Zoom MS70 delay/reverb in stereo, then into the Zoom H6 recorder which powers my Beyer DT770 headphones for great mix balancing in real time. The volcas are sync'd as usual in a cv chain with each others in/out and v Drum as master. Also the Zoom H6 will eventually record 3 stereo tracks simultaneously (the vKeys and vModular through the effects) the vDrum and vBass (direct) and the two mics recording the ambient outdoor sounds live. For outdoor jams, power comes from normal phone style powerbanks 10000 & 20000mAh and I use the myvolts ripcord 5V to 9V USB adapter"

Updated BugBrand CrossOver Filter & Expander

"The CrossOver Filter has undergone a large upgrade and now re-enters regular production. While it looks the same from the outside (bar the line on the yellow Drive control changing from white to black) the insides have been completely updated - the main new features being that the input is now balanced and I added voltage control to the resonance/Q (accessible via a planned 2FW Expander), along with general improvements at a circuit level. My personal setups always feature a COFilter and PTDelay on mixer aux sends - the COFilter adding all manner of tonal playfulness - subtle or extreme frequency enhancements or eliminations."
