Circuit Tracks drives a Buchla and Friends -CALC- All along the way

video by -CALC-

"I made this video and it didn't seem to sit right at the time. So I figured I'd perform it on a livestream instead and have a chat about it.

If you're interested in seeing it in a different guise and a bit of chat about the track (and other things). Here it is: [video below]

After the live stream I edited the video and felt better about it so thought I might aswell put it up anyway....

The Novation Circuit Tracks is sequencing a Summit, Juno 106 and the Buchla 208C Easel command. Mutable Instruments Beads is getting to work on a sample I nabbed from David Lynch's daily weather update. I dont think this is copyrighted but of course if it is and I've been a bit too naughty, I'll just have to take this video down. The beads is clocked from the analogue clock out on Circuit Tracks too.

I had fun recording the Buchla line, using the newly added strum arpeggiator on the Launchkey MK3 its a fantastic way to get random rhythm but on some coherent harmonies.

Theres a lot of the incredible Vongon Ultrasheer on this track too.... it is a simply stunning 'verb and wonky chorus."

Live Stream from Chez -CALC- noodlings, talking gear and other such shenanigans

video by -CALC-

"I thought I'd take the plunge and spend an evening livestreaming from the studio.
There is no reason for this other than to have a beer and play around on some of the gear.
I'll be looking at the Buchla 208 Easel Command, the Sleepy Circuits Hypno Synth and a few other bits and pieces. I'll have a play around on some tracks I've been messing with too.
I havent planned or prepped for any of this it could be fun or it could be a disaster we'll see."

Buchla Easel Command 208C - Tremor

video by TheTrackdriver

"All sounds are from the Buchla Easel Command 208C including the vinyl scratch. They were sampled and are played back from an Elektron Octatrack which is also sequencing the modulation oscillator on MIDI channel 3. The bellish sound from the complex oscillator is triggered and sequenced by the built-in sequencer on the Easel."

Behringer Working on Polyeight - Korg Polysix Clone w/ Two Extra Voices

From Behringer on the interwebs:

"What an exciting day - the first Polyeight has come alive:-)

While this is still an early prototype, the firmware is all based on our new ARM platform, which will certainly speed up the development and time to market.

As you can see, the Polyeight is not a pure clone. We have retained the analog section, but added 2 more voices and especially a much improved user interface with very useful functions.

What do you think?"

Erica Synths DB-01: How to make a "Super-16"

video by Richard DeHove

"How can you make a 16-step pattern into a 32 or even a 128-step pattern without creating multiple bars? Just use the "cycling steps" feature. There are various "cycling step" options available such as 1/2 2/3 3/4 or 7/8. By adding just a few you can make a very simple 16-step pattern into a much more complex and varied "Super-16".

0:00 What is a "super 16" ?
1:20 Display and/or erase cycling steps
1:50 Analysing a super-16 pattern
2:33 Slight issue
4:10 Make a super-16
6:25 Add modulation"

How Versatile Are These 2 Modules?!? Basimilus Iteritas Alter & Manis Iteritas

video by Koboto Music

"In this video, I try to see how far I can stretch the Noise Engineering Modules (Basimilus Inteitas Alter and Manis Iteritas). With the help of some Delay, Arpeggiator and Sequencer, I think I was able to make a relatively interesting Jam. Thanks for watching!"
