OPERA ROTAS Jam snippets

video upload by SPHERICAL SOUND SOCIETY

"Just another jam. No previous patterns nor preparation. All on the fly.

OPERA ROTAS is a mutant drum machine and polysynth. It´s based around the audio chip of the Sega Genesis / Megadrive and live has an incredible sharp character, weight and body.

Sequential Prophet 6 + Eurorack (O_c - Marbles - Rings)

video upload by lucafrancinimusic

"Blending my small Eurorack system with the warm Prophet 6.

I'm running the Viznutcracker, sweet! app in Ornament & Crime sending the crazy 8bit noises into Rings Audio Input. The noises are constantly changing because a multed "Y" random signal from Marbles modulates the parameters generating the aforementioned sweet noises.

Marbles STEPS knob is set fully CW, so it only outputs one note in various octaves. Rings is tuned so that this one note is the same as the root key of the pads.

While running the modular patch through Valhalla Supermassive reverb it reminded me of those kind of lonely space communications, so I used this inspiration to build some pads around the glitchy signals and noises, using my Prophet 6 which I think it's the quickest and easiest synthesizer to program and it also has a nice warm and creamy tone.

I've then layered a second patch from the Prophet whit this Blade Runner-like lead sound.

I love messing with Eurorack modules but sometimes the outcome cannot find its way out of the case, so I think showing one of the possible workflows to actually turn a patch into a track can be helpful and inspirational.

I hope you liked the track,
See you next time!"

Prophet Rev2 FREE Progressive House Pluck Patch

video upload by lucafrancinimusic

"Download this free patch for the DSI Prophet Rev2 at https://lucasoundbank.gumroad.com
The Modwheel opens up the sound; the patch itself is dry, I recommend using a stereo delay and/or a reverb in yout DAW."

GEOSynths Synth Show - Ep119 - Special Guest - Chris Meyer

video upload by GEOSynths

"Synthesizer Podcast - Special Guest - Chris Meyer
Episode 119 - Thursday 11th November 2021
@ 7pm UK (2pm EST)

Chris Meyer

With over 5 decades within the Music Industry, not many are as knowledgable or as experienced as Chris Meyer. He’s worked with Modular Synths since the 70’s and started working for Sequential in the early 80’s and is the one who invented “Vector Synthesis”. He later worked for a variety of Companies, including Roland and was heavily involved with the revisions of the MIDI specification.

Chris later moved into the Film and Video Industry, composing Soundtracks, however this also turned into creating a Motion Graphics Business using Adobe After Effects, where he subsequently went on to writing Books and providing Technical Courses and other learning material.

The Teaching element has stayed with Chris and many will know him from his YouTube Channel and Website “Learning Modular” where he provides training and guides for those who want to delve deeply into Modular Systems, however it is very informative and useful for anyone into Synthesis.

As well as the Teaching, Chris continues to write and has co-authored Books like “Patch & Tweak” amongst others and if you want to hear his Compositions, then check out 'Alias Zone' on Bandcamp.Website -

VINTAGE ANALOGUE SYNTHESIZER....Wireless World 1973

video upload by Outdoorsman

"This is an early analogue synth that I built from a series of articles in Wireless World magazine. I obviously spent a LOT of time making it....let's see if it still works..... (update coming soon!) Here's a link to the original articles....http://www.keith-snook.info/wireless-..." (PDF link - pics below if you want to skip)

Note the article appears to be by Tim Orr of Powertran, and a D. W. Thomas. Anyone know who that is? The design reminds me of a Maplin.

LXR-02 tutorial - Part 6: Useful shortcuts

video upload by Richard DeHove

"Part six of a getting started guide for the Erica Synths LXR-02 drum machine. This is with firmware 1.2. This tutorial covers a selection of shortcuts which are sometimes not even indictated on the machine - they're just things you have to know. Some things here, like the Pattern generator, I've covered in detail in other videos, but I thought it worth grouping the best shortcuts together as a reference. And with the Automation shortcut here, this is the "quick and easy" method rather than going into the options in detail. Hope you find it useful.

0:00 intro
0:14 Pattern Generator
1:30 Deleting steps
1:55 Rolling steps
2:53 Last Step All
