BLIP BOX New AFTER DARK Version! (Prototype)
Published on Jan 27, 2020 VJ FRANZ K
"is it a Toy for kids? Is it a Real Synth? Yes. It's both, this is the sequel to the previous Blip Box, the new After Dark version has a new visual aesthetic and more powerful sound capabilities, including MIDI control from any external keyboard etc. (This is the NAMM prototype, the product is pre-ordering now?)
[This shows a product which can be a Toy, so I have marked it 'for kids'.]"

Unboxing NEW Roland MC101 ! s0 Unedited Footage
Published on Oct 2, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
Update:
MC101! First Beat Making: Industrial / Trip Hop? z10 (Unedited Footage)
Published on Oct 2, 2019
"Very first try! Be kind. Testing the new machine, I got some beats going, and used a car crash sound effect included as a preset. It was semi-successful, I could not figure out how to switch track 2 to drums (you have to Delete the Track and make a new one!)
and how to increase the length of the sequence (hold Shift and press the measure buttons!)
There is a lot of holding the Shift Key to do various things, be warned... I have not decided whether to keep this machine."

ROM - ANTIC Memories ( Looping Test Jam ) D56 Z6
Published on Apr 28, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
"When we stayed up all night..." I made this melody with my Deluge synthesizer, and I'm trying out vocal phrases to be the lyrics. This is often my song writing process - try things out and see what works best.
and I'm particularly interested in looping with the Deluge because soon the OS will be updated with an Audio Looper.
Synthstrom Deluge, BOSS RC-505 looper, and Roland VT-3 vocal transformer.

NEW VT4 Test B - Detailed Examination of Vocoding, and Ambient Effects z17
Published on Apr 7, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
"More strange voices* after this point! Here's a continuation of the earlier video. I can see the value of the VT4's additional parameters, which allow more fine tuning of the sound you want.
*and I actually like some of the effects with the ambient crowd noises later on."

Roland NEW VT4 (Voice Transformer) Test A - Robot Voices Galore! z15
Published on Apr 3, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
"'Hard Tuned' Voices are more popular than ever. What will a user of the Voice Transformer 3 think, when presented with the new VT4? There are definitely similarities in sound, the VT4 has some useful new options. With either one, you're going to want to practice a while to get the best sound out of it - you have to "sing into" the effects in a certain way to get the best pitch tracking out them, for example.
Things do get a bit silly, I wasn't totally able to hear in the crowded convention hall!"

VOLCA DRUM - Including BETTER STEP JUMP! z16
Published on Jan 26, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
"Among many other features, the Volca Drum includes an improved 'step jump' function which automatically stays 'in beat' when you release it.
(So, how can we get the others updated to do this? ; - )
There are a lot of interesting sound possibilities in this new device."
VOLCA Drums and Modular Etc - Weird Techno Jam? z13
Published on Jan 27, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
"More impressive than the sound of this is seeing all 9 Volca machines on one rack! It was the end of the day, but I had to try this.
Especially the Volca modular will require a lot of time to learn and experiment with, but some truly interesting sounds could result."

New Vocoder VC340 keyboard! (80's Robot Voice) Talking It Out! z7
Published on Jan 26, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
"My 1998 album was called 'Vokoder', because I have always liked this sound a lot! Here's Berhninger's new remake of a classic vocoder keyboard. It does sound different than digital vocoders, and it's not "Auto Tune" - that's something different. B - ) In this case, you play the notes and chords, and talk or sing into a microphone plugged into the machine to get these type of results.
Vocoders do tend to require precise adjustments to get the best "robot voice" sounds, but I easily got this working in minutes."
New MS101 ! - Trying The Red "Meowing" Synth z11
Published on Jan 25, 2019 VJ FRANZ K
"Keytar players take note of the optional handle / strap holder, which has a mod wheel on it to adjust various parameters while you play.
Similar to the SH101, which was sometimes compared to a meow of a robot cat! It was one of my favorite classic synths, and here is a great remake. (You also might compare it to a MiniBrute more recently.)"
