"I made a patch specifically for this piece. I always imagined the piece being played by an old music box that ran out of energy towards the end. With the patch I tried to recreate that. Through the control pedal I increasingly add pitch drift and faster decay. The reverb comes from Ableton and was automated there."

"It comes with the original box, original manual and printed schematics!

It operates on batteries or with a standard 9V power supply (batteries/adapter not included!). We recommend using it with batteries because all compatible power supplies are always a bit noisy.

Used by Sigur Ros, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, and countless other electronic artists.

These sampling keyboards from the 80's have so much potential with the inclusion of the built in sampler that allows you to sample any sound and manipulate it.

The 8-bit sampler can record short samples of about 2 seconds that can be played back and processed instantly. Additionally, an overwrite mode is available for layering more than one sample for some interesting results.

The mini-keyboard features 11 Internal Sounds: Piano, Harpsichord, Banjo, Vibes, Marimba, Crystal, Strings, Jazz Organ, Brass, Clarinet and Galaxy. It also has 7 Effects: Loop, U-Turn, Reverse, Echo, Fuzz, Frequency Modulation and Amplitude Modulation.

There are no built in rhythms but the Arpeggio makes up for this short fall. There is also a basic pattern recorder using the arpeggio.

Very lofi, warm, and organic sounding synth sounds are made possible by this feature.

Fans of Casio's SK-1 sampling keyboard will be delighted by the VSS-30s ability to reverse, loop, fuzz out and otherwise manipulate samples."
