Updates on Tellun.com

via Scott on the Modular Panels list:

"I spent the day updating a number of projects on my website. Most of these are for my MUUB based utility modules. In some cases I simply added a Bridechamber panel to an already built module. For others I completely rebuilt the module using MUUB-3 boards in order to avoid stacking PCBs on top of each other. In some instances I created my own panels by making up a template with Front Panel Designer, printing it out, and then pasting it overtop of my plastic panel. Direct links for each of these can be found below.

I also posted some details about a mod for the MOTM-120 that I had done several years ago but forgot to add to my website. I had been discussing some oddball behaviour regarding the MOTM-120 with another list member and mentioned this simple mod not realizing that it wasn't commonly known (see #3 on this page):

Tuner & Headphone Monitor (home made panel):

Next up I'll be building a couple of Klee sequencers with Bridechamber panel. So far only one simple modification is planned.

Happy synth building!"

Ian Fritz 5Pulser Waveshaper Demo

YouTube via bchris1776
"This is a very simple demo of the Ian Fritz 5Pulser 'voltage controlled waveshaper. It's based on the LM3914 display driver chip. This is a really unique waveshaping circuit - and despite my lack of imagination in this demo - I'm looking forward to using it to great effect in my modular patches.

Info on this circuit can be found at http://www.electro-music.com/forum/vi...
and the PC board is available through bridechamber.com

In this demo, audio in is a steady sawtooth waveform. CV1 is the random output of a sequencer, CV2 is an LFO sine wave."

Demo Resonant LoPass Gate

YouTube via attorks
"This is a short demo of the Resonant LoPass Gate which is a clone of the famous Buchla 292c LoPass Gate. Thomas White is the one who made this possible by producing the schematics and the PCB. The PCB with components already on it I got 2nd hand from someone in Belgium. The two Vactrols on it are VTL5C6, which are the fast type. I added the components for the mixer section and got the panel, pots and knobs from The BrideChamber.
In this demo the patching is as follows:
On the LPG audio input 1 is a DotCom VCO with a triangle wave.
On the LPG audio input 2 is another DotCom VCO with a triangle wave.
On the LPG Control input is the Gate of the Doepfer MAQ16/3 sequencer. You can see me adjusting the length of the gate with the knobs on the MAQ16/3. The CV of the MAQ16/3 is going to the VCO's.
On the LPG CV 1 input is the output of a DotCom Envelope Generator (settings A-0, D-4.5, S-0, R-2). So when turning the CV 1 knob up, the output of the EG is mixed with the Gate signal. Initially the CV 1 knob is down.
The LPG's output goes to the AKAI Head Rush E2 which is switched on after a while during the music bit.
I couldn't help to put a little music in the middle of this video, hope you don't mind.
The resonance in the Frequency mode is quiet strong but I wanted to show the full turn; perhaps you will hear some clipping."

NAMM: DoubleDeka Ultrasonic VCO Now Available

You might remember this one being announce back on 9/6/2008. It is now available via BrideChamber. Not official NAMM news, but it is new and it is NAMM season so I'll add the labels for those looking.

"From Ian Fritz, The DoubleDeka Ultrasonic VCO is here!!!

From the Documentation...
This unique VCO consists of an ultrasonic oscillator core followed by a parallel pair of waveform generators. Each waveform generator consists of a switched multi-octave divider followed by circuitry to generate a 10-step waveform using a set of 10 slider potentiometers. Also included are a novel synchronization circuit with two different operating modes and a built-in "digital ring modulator" (DRM) for producing a wide variety of synchronized and anharmonic sounds. The oscillator core is highly stable (better than 20 ppm/K in the prototype) and features wide-range, accurate tracking (better than 0.05% over fifteen octaves). The variable waveform generator provides fine control over an enormous range of available timbres."

Buchla "292c Resonant" LPG PCB Project Documents

via djthomaswhite in this electro-music.com thread. Note Bridechamber might be making these.

"Gentlemen,
Here is the Revision 3.0 Document Packet for the Lopass Gate project. If you find errors, please let me know. I have never put anything like this together before and hope you find it useful and thorough. Included are:

Schematic
Parts List
PCB Component Overlay
PCB Board Layout
Copper (Top/Bottom) Images
Build Document
Front Panel Files

All are in PDF format where available.

Thomas

PS. There is a possibility that Bridechamber will be willing to make panels for this project. Please examine the 2 included files and post your thoughts on if you would buy panels in that MOTM format or not. My vote if for the 2U version with all the bells and whistles. Thanks!"
