Perfect Circuit Audio (RSS)
"The LDB-1 “Little Drummer Boy” is a modern recreation of the classic analog drum machines of the 80's, like the Roland TR-606 and TR-808. Our goal was to recreate the warm sounds of the classics, using all analog circuitry - not samples. The brain of the LDB-1 is a powerful digital microcontroller that triggers the analog drum sounds and provides the sequencer, programmability and connectivity features.
Easily interfaces with other instruments, synthesizers, DAWs, etc. through analog connections, MIDI, and DINsync.
The LDB-1 has all of the features of a classic analog drum machine in a small, affordable package.
Drum Machine versus Eurorack Module
What' the difference? The LDB-1 Drum Machine is a complete, stand-alone drum machine that includes the analog drum sounds as well as a sequencer, pattern memory, and lots of connectivity options. The LDB-1e Eurorack Module contains just the drum sounds waiting to be triggered by any clock, LFO, or sequencer in your rack.
Features
Eight Analog Drum Sounds
Bass Drum
Low Tom
High Tom
Snare Drum
Wood Block
Hand Clap
Closed Hi-hat
Open Hi-hat
Eight voice polyphony
All drums can be played simultaneously, including
open and closed hi-hat for a super punchy cymbal
Play Modes
Play Individual Drums
Play Patterns, including chaining up to 8 patterns
Play Songs with Pattern Fills

Austin I/O Synth Meet Update
For those of you attending SXSW this year, don't miss the Austin I/O Synth Meet on Friday March 15. The following is in via the official Austin I/O Synth Meet Facebook page.
"We're excited to announce that several manufacturers will be showing their wares at our Synth Meet on Friday the 15th. Including FUTURE-RETRO REVOLUTION, Super Synthesis, Delptronics and Livid Instruments!!!!!
To make things a little more interesting, we asked the artists from East Side Glass Studio to set up their gear too.
Ever seen the glass blowing process? ...pretty incredible
Just received word that legendary Austin Synthesist Rick Reed will be gracing our event with his presence!
About: (From Austin Museum of Digital Art)
"Rick Reed (born 1957) has been creating audio compositions since the early 80's. His works are intuitive studies of electricity, frequency fluctuations, and improvised "on the fly" solutions to symmetry problems in electronic sound. Since 2005, he has centered his live work on using a vintage EMS Synthi A synthesizer processed with various effects devices to create complex macromal drones with a surface of aesthetic elegance and beauty.
Reed, currently based in Austin, Texas, has performed throughout the United States and Europe. Recently, he appeared in 2009 at the UK's prestigious Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in ensemble alongside Keith Rowe and former Austinite Bill Thompson. His music has been used by filmmaker Ken Jacobs in three of his experiential films, Spiral Nebula, Mountaineer Spinning, and Capitalism: Child Labor (which won the grand prize at 2006's Curtas Vila de Conde film festival in Portugal, Spain). He also appeared live with Jacobs at Lincoln Center during the "Views From the Avant Garde" portion of 2007's New York Film Festival.
Reed's audio works are available from the labels Elevator Bath, Ecstatic Peace, Pale Disc Japan, Bremsstrahlung Recordings and Beta Lactam Ring. A new double LP record will be released by Elevator Bath in early 2011, which should coincide with a short tour of the east coast."
Our friends at FRIENDS OF SOUND RECORDS will be selling vinyl from their shop at the meet so bring your pocketbooks!"

Delptronics LDB-1 + TR-606 + TR-808
Published on Feb 27, 2013
"This is a side by side comparison of the same patterns playing on a Delptronics LDB-1, a Roland TR-606, and a Roland TR-808. All three use analog circuitry (no samples). The 606 circuitry is a simpler version of the 808, and the LDB-1 is simpler still. They all sound great, just a little different. Of course the prices are different too - a new LDB-1 is $240, a used 606 is $450 or more, and a used 808 is around $3,400 (and rising).
No effects were used. The volumes of each instrument were turned all the way up, except the 808 rim shot which is really loud at full volume. The LDB-1 and TR-606 do not have tuning per instrument. On the 808, the tuning of each instrument was set in the middle, except for the kick, which was set as low as it goes - because that's where everyone sets it. :)
For more info, or to purchase the LDB-1, go to http://delptronics.com/ldb1.php"

About sound source.
I have tested this module with probe and confirmed that 20-pin IC only making trigger pulses while all sound is generated by various ways of shaping of analog sound sources. So, i was wrong telling that sound is generated inside the uC. I think I was confused with so little amount of OpAmps. I'm quite nerdy in such things and always trying to search the truth. Thanks for understanding."

"The LDB-1e 'Little Drummer Boy' analog drums eurorack module is very compact. Just eight trigger inputs and one audio output in a 4 HP wide module.
The module uses totally analog circuitry, not samples. Our goal was to recreate the warm sounds of the classic analog drum machines of the 80's, like the Roland TR-606, TR-808 and TR-909. The circuitry of the LDB-1e uses the same principals as the classics and produces a very similar sound.
The module contains the same drum circuitry found in the LDB-1 Drum Machine, which is a complete drum machine including a sequencer.

Switched On Presents Solderless Breadboarding Workshop
"Presented by Switched On School of Music Electronics & Delptronics
Learn the art of basic electronic design, walk home with knowledge and something to play with!
Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00pm
At Switched On Music Electronics
1111 E. 11th Street, Austin, TX
About the workshop:
Mickey Delp of Delptronics will be leading another beginner electronics workshop on solderless breadboarding. A breadboard is a temporary circuit board used for prototyping. Electronic components simply plug into sockets on the breadboard with no soldering required. The workshop will cover the identification and function of basic electronic components, how to read a schematic circuit diagram, and how to translate a diagram into a working circuit on a breadboard. We will also discuss how to go from the breadboarded prototype to a permanent device. You will build several circuits during the workshop and you get to take home all the parts, including everything you see in the image below and more.
Come to the workshop learn how to build your own electronic musical instruments!
$20 (instruction) + $20 (for parts) = $40 total
Check out the Facebook Event Page."
