Introducing Blinksonic° FR3TZ° for Native Instruments Reaktor 6

Published on Sep 22, 2018 BLINKSONIC°

www.blinksonic.com/fr3tz

"Blinksonic family is growing with the release of a new breed ensemble for Reaktor 6.

Please welcome to FR3TZ ! String Harmonics meet Euclidean Beats... in a Granular Cloud.

FR3TZ is a self sequenced instrument which offers to play chromatically a full set of guitar harmonics samples, with the power of granular synthesis and a suite of 6 effects.
The 3 track-mono-step sequencer can be programmed in a similar way as an Euclidean rhythm generator.

FR3TZ is an unconventional piece of instrument for creating generative patterns both melodical and rhythmical, the whole being encapsulated inside a modern user interface, inspired by « Material Design », which reinforces the user experience.
This instrument can produce amazing mechanical or non linear melodic patterns but also percussive beats and generative soundscapes. 177 snapshots have been crafted to illustrate the kind of unstable loops and unusual phrases that can be created with it.

FR3TZ also explores the random concept again, in order to provide some humanized effects on your note patterns. The sequencer is coupled with a note selector (a 1 octave virtual keyboard. This selector allows to choose which sound of the map will be aleatory launched on any incoming gate events.

Travel over the waveform with the mouse to obtain glitchy effects.. Combine the 6 effects (Pitchshifter, Filter, Distortion, Delay, Chorus, Reverb) in order to sculpt the shapes of your tones.. Inject some crazy movement on the master mix with Binaural/Doppler effect... This extensive set of features combined between each other, provides a unique recipe for designing sounds.

FR3TZ, even more than a sound bank or a virtual instrument, is a real physical sonic palette.
You will discover how surprising it can be to use string harmonics as an oscillation source, transform them as an atonal percussive element. Thanks to granular synthesis, experiment how to sound big with the infinitely small.

THE CONCEPT

String harmonics have a particular sound rendering and easily provide one of the most mysterious and subtle sonic mental images when they are punctually used in a guitarist performance. Obtained with a slight pressure on the strings with the tip of the finger raised above the frets, the harmonics deliver one of the most fascinating sounds that can be extracted from a guitar.

KlirrFactory Mr.Q VST/VST3 Plugin - First Look

Published on Sep 9, 2018 TheKlirrfaktor

German video below.

"The Mr.Q VST Plugin is available @ www.klirrfactory.com

Mr.Q is a unique VST/VST3 instrument based on bandpass filters. Mr.Q has up to 8 double (serial) resonant, tunable bandpass filters that allow you to create sounds from ambient textures over fine lead voices to absurd sub basses. It's hard to explain - so check the demo videos.

Mr.Q has 3 sequencers, a Q compressor, a up to 40 stages Wavefolder, Soft and Hard Clip and a bunch of controls for every of the 8 channels.

Be aware that this instrument can get crazy on high Q or Feedback values - but believe - it's a lot of fun!
Have fun!

VST is a trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH."

New Software Brand 2GETHERAUDIO Launches with Choose Your Own Price & Charity Benefit

"NEW MUSIC SOFTWARE BRAND, 2GETHERAUDIO, LAUNCHES TWO NEW PLUGINS WHERE CUSTOMERS CHOOSE THEIR OWN PRICE, AND HALF GOES TO A SOCIAL CAUSE OF THEIR CHOICE.

2getheraudio releases RE4ORM virtual instrument and RE4ORM FX audio plugin under an industry-first model of Pay-What-You-Want and Half Goes to a Social Cause of Your Choice.

Boston, MA USA (September 10, 2018) — 2getheraudio™, announced today the immediate availability of two new software plugins under an industry-first model where customers pay what they want and half of the purchase price is donated to a charity or cause of their choice. The company’s mission is to bring more music into the world by empowering musicians to express themselves, and at the same time, help others in need. Allowing customers to select their own price and social cause allows everyone to get professional music making software, make more music, and participate in the act of giving back to the world.

'The idea stemmed from us wanting to build new state-of-the-art plugins and get them into as many musician’s hands as we could, but also wanting to join the growing movement where individuals and businesses, not governments, are helping to solve today’s social challenges”, says Jennifer Hruska, CEO of 2getheraudio, “Musicians and artists have always been at the forefront of social justice and change so this seemed like a perfect way to let everyone in our music technology community get new plugins and help others at the same time.'

The first two plugins from 2getheraudio, available now, are RE4ORM, a Free4orm Additive Synthesizer virtual instrument, and RE4ORM FX, an Audio Shape Remixer effects plugin. Both plugins bring an exciting new way to create sounds by drawing or warping waveform shapes with your mouse, an intuitive and easy approach with amazing sonic results.

In RE4ORM, users can draw and warp the shape of both the additive synth waveform and a multi-filter modulation LFO called the Free4orm Filter. In RE4ORM FX, users have access to eight Free4orm LFOs for modulating 20 different included audio effects. The Free4orm LFO is a much more creative way to add automation to your plugins. Even better, the factory included Free4orm shapes such as Fractals, Skyline, Crystals and Pulses are all synchronized to the DAW tempo with user selectable speeds leading to experimentation and sonic results you just can’t get any other way. Of course, users can create and save their own Free4orm shapes leading to endless possibilities for custom sound design.

RE4ORM and RE4ORM FX utilize the Qubiq Audio struQture™ (http://www.qubiqaudio.com/struqture) audio engine, a software platform that builds virtual instruments and effects plugins and features a fully modular architecture for combining multiple synthesis methods (sample playback, virtual analog, FM, additive and others), modulators, effects and players like arpeggiators. The struQture audio engine is used in plugins from Akai Professional, NOS Audio, Sonivox and others and is built and maintained by 2getheraudio engineers.

Introduction to U-he Colour Copy

Published on Sep 7, 2018 uheplugins

"In this video, Ronan Macdonald introduces Colour Copy and gives an overview of its features and functionality.

Colour Copy is a virtual analog effect inspired by classic bucket-brigade delays (BBD), but extended with modern features. We called our new baby "Colour Copy" because it can deliver the kind of colouration people still love in classic BBD units, but with a wider variety of colours. Colour Copy started life as the little delay unit called "Lyrebird" we built into Repro-1, but the sound was too good not to be developed further and become an fx plug-in.

Colour Copy info and demo: http://u-he.com/colourcopy"

Isotonik Studios Factorsynth – Machine Learning Tool for Live

JJ Burred - FactorSynth - Demo from Isotonik Studios on Vimeo.

via Isotonik Studios

"Factorsynth is a new kind of musical tool. It uses machine learning techniques to decompose any input sound into a set of temporal and spectral elements. By rearranging and modifying these elements you can do powerful transformations to your clips, such as removing notes or motifs, creating new ones, randomizing melodies or timbres, changing rhythmic patterns, remixing loops in real time, creating complex sound textures...

Unlike traditional audio effect devices, which take the track’s audio input and generate output in real time, Factorsynth is a clip-based device. It works on audio clips from your Live set that you have selected and loaded into Factorsynth. Once an audio clip has been selected and loaded into Factorsynth, it can then be decomposed into elements. The decomposition process is called factorization, because it is based on a technique called matrix factorization."

New Audio Damage Quanta Granular Synthesizer

Uploaded on Jun 21, 2018 Audio Damage, Inc.

"Quanta is a ten-voice true-stereo hybrid subtractive/granular synthesizer with dual filters, four FEG (flexible EG, essentially a 99-stage totally arbitrary breakpoint generator), two FLFO (arbitrary waveshape LFO), two multi-mode filters, a virtual analog oscillator, full modulation matrix, and over 120 factory presets from yours truly [Chris Randall], Richard Devine, Joseph Fraioli, Chris Carter, and Marcus Fisher."

The iOS version will be along in approximately 2 weeks.

via Audio Damage:

HIGHLIGHTS

Granulate!
Quanta is a full-featured ten-voice true stereo granular synthesizer, with up to a hundred 1000ms grains per voice, and full control over the grain state, with direct randomization and modulation of most parameters. Drag-and-drop a sample (WAV, AIFF, Ogg, or FLAC) on to the window and go to work.

Synthesize!
With two multi-mode filters (with LP, HP, BP and notch in 2-pole and 4-pole topologies), and a "sidecar" virtual-analog oscillator and noise generator that can be used in addition to, or injected into, the grain engine, Quanta is a fully capable subtractive synth in its own right, and will work as a granular or subtractive (or both) synth without any sample at all.

Modulate!
Quanta has mod coming out its ears. First up are four of our new FEGs (Flexible Envelope Generator), a 99-point looping function generator with optional host tempo sync. Then add two arbitrary-waveshape LFOs, a multi-source sample-and-hold module, and fully user-controllable MIDI assignments, with nearly every control on the panel as a destination.

Control!
Quanta is customizable to your taste and playing style. With full MPE support, it can take advantage of the extended control set of your Linnstrument, Seaboard, Soundplane, Continuum, or other MPE controller, and support for TUN files lets you use tuning tables. The resizable Hi-DPI GUI lets you adjust the size to match your visual needs, and the cross-platform preset mechanism lets you share your creations with you.

TRAVELER Doppler Modelling & Granular Sample Player VST/AU/AAX Plugin

Published on Jun 25, 2018 TonsturmChannel

https://tonsturm.com/software/traveler/

"TRAVELER precisely models the acoustic phenomenon of the Doppler effect, with a powerful and intuitive graphical path editor to determine a sound's virtual movement. A common example of Doppler shift is the change of pitch heard when a vehicle sounding a horn approaches and recedes from an observer.

TRAVELER features a fully fledged 2D path editor allowing you to precisely shape the motion path of the sound source. Further it is possible to freely position the listener in relation to the path.
TRAVELER offers intuitive control over the speed of the sound source, path length and the overall doppler path duration.

TRAVELER also comes with an onboard loop and granular sample player. The granular sample player allows synchronized playback to the doppler path. This makes it possible to playback the desired sound effect at different durations while remaining everything in perfect sync.

After being processed by the doppler effect engine TRAVELER features a powerful post effects section. Both, the parameters of the post effect engine and the parameters of the granular sample player, can modulated by the 4 individual multisegment LFO´s that run in sync with the Doppler path duration.
The Manual mode allows you to manually perform the powerful TRAVELER engine in realtime."

OTO Biscuit 8-bit Effects Makes Its Way to Software

Introducing OTO Biscuit – Softube Published on Jun 19, 2018

"Get it today – https://softu.be/OTO_Biscuit
✮ Vive Le Biscuit
Delicious 8-bit effects and analog filtering make the Biscuit a "magic box" – a must have for DJs, producers, engineers, and composers alike. It has detailed bit-by-bit control, unlike other bitcrushers, and built in digital multi-effects to complement the sweet-as-can-be analog-modeled filter. Once you taste it, you'll find it hard to keep your hands off. ✮"

Initially introduced in hardware in the late 00’s, the French-made OTO Biscuit quickly became a cult classic with DJs and electronic music producers around the world. Gritty bit-crushing, lo-fi multi-effects, a sweet and smooth analog filter, and a quality look and feel, made it a go-to awesome-sound-maker in clubs and studios alike.

Now it’s available in software, bringing those crunchy, dirty, edgy sounds closer to the DAW-based studio or laptop-based performance rig, and making it more intuitive than ever before.

The Biscuit offers incredibly detailed control of these essential sonic possibilities, with eight individually invertable or mutable bits, control of sample rate, waveshaping, delay, even pitch-shifting, and analog filtering (controllable manually or with a built-in step sequencer) to round off sharp edges and make even the harshest digital screech sound alive and organic.

CRUSH PACK is the latest installment in Native Instruments’ new line of effects. BITE, DIRT, and FREAK offer modern twists on the prized tone of early samplers, the timeless shred of a sophisticated stomp box, dynamic ring modulated sci-fi sounds, futuristic timbres, other-worldly radio broadcasts, and more.
3. Introducing DIRT from EFFECTS SERIES – CRUSH PACK | Native Instruments
DIRT is a distortion stompbox that combines analog modeling with highly refined controls and flexible routing.
4. Introducing FREAK from EFFECTS SERIES – CRUSH PACK | Native Instruments
FREAK combines frequency shifting, ring modulation and radio modulation techniques in one versatile package.

Update: The official press release:

"Berlin, June 15, 2018 – Native Instruments today launch EFFECTS SERIES – CRUSH PACK, a follow-up to the critically acclaimed MOD PACK.

CRUSH PACK offers three plug-ins, covering a wide array of tonal distortion effects – bit-crushing, stompbox-style distortion, ring modulation, amplitude modulation, frequency shifting, and more – and each with innovative new creative features, such as allowing external sidechain sources as modulators. Each also features the same prized sound quality that earned MOD PACK plaudits from press and users alike, making CRUSH PACK another essential upgrade from the distortion effects found in DAWs.

CRUSH PACK consists of three VST/AU/AAX plug-ins: A bitcrusher and sample rate reducer called BITE, a distortion effect called DIRT, and a multi-mode modulating device called FREAK. 234 carefully designed presets showcase the huge range of tonal distortion possible.

Additionally, all MOD PACK owners can enjoy a significant crossgrade discount on the price of CRUSH PACK.

BITE recreates the prized sonic imperfections that defined hip-hop and dance music’s first golden era, but it takes things much further. It allows a wide sonic palette, from authentic 80s organic digital crunch to depth-charged extremes. Modern features like auto-input/output compensation ensure controlled chaos.

DIRT offers organic-sounding distortion, crafted by sound designers. Flexible signal routing, blending, and other carefully crafted parameters allow unusual levels of control. Unlike the stompboxes upon which its sound is based, DIRT’s controls are calibrated for subtle tone-shaping (even when delivering extreme sonic results), and powerful features such as wavefolding allow complex, dynamic timbres, even from simple sources like sine waves.

FREAK (derived from ‘frequency shifting’) delivers three sound-bending modulation types in one plug-in. Innovative modes like retro radio lo-fi, stereo modulation, and wild sidechain ability sit alongside classic AM, ring mod, and frequency shifting techniques. This range allows detuned horror-style vocals, rich metallic timbres, rhythmic sidechaining, the sound of vintage broadcasts or alien transmissions, and more.

Pricing and availability
EFFECTS SERIES – CRUSH PACK is available now at the NI Online Shop for €69 / $69 / £59 / ¥ 8780 / AU$ 99

MOD PACK owners can upgrade to CRUSH PACK now at the NI Online Shop for just €44 / $44 / £37 / ¥ 5600 / AU$ 60"

"Palindrome is a granular morph plotting sampler geared toward experimental sound design.

The basic concept behind Palindrome is to fuse four granular samplers with a coordinate plotting grid and complex modulation sources in order to facilitate the creation of morphing sound effects and unusual instrument patches.

The plugin’s main grid section facilitates the creation of custom paths that determine the trajectory of a playhead over time. This playhead travels across a user-definable path that corresponds with the outputs of the samplers which are smoothly morphed using a bilinear interpolation algorithm. Palindrome also features 8 user-definable multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes to facilitate the creation of intricate modulation shapes.

With its 4 granular samplers, morph-plotting system, 8 multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes, dual effects processors per sampler, shape presets, 4-note polyphony, deep randomization system, global reverb, 1.4GB sample library and numerous factory presets, Palindrome brings sound designers a powerful new sound sculpting tool.
