Polyfusion Modular System at Knobcon

"I was at Knobcon on Saturday...it could have been an elaborate dream but there was a Polyfusion booth, with a beautiful Polyfusion modular, and a very nice man told me reassuringly that they were bringing all of the modules back. They were even working on a poly synth using the same circuitry. Did anyone else have the same dream?"

According to the people bringing back the Polyfusion:

"The machine at the show is new old stock. Although we look young, we are working with and have exclusive license with Polyfusion in NY. Please get all the facts before spreading misinformation!!! We worked very hard to have this opportunity.

Polyfusion will be manufacturing the modules so they will be coming straight from them."

Polyfusion to Enter the Market Again?

Developing... An anonymous source tells me the people behind Polyfusion are at Knobcon and they might be entering the market again.

"I also learned, which apparently is not widely known yet, that Polyfusion is bringing back their modular offerings, and even are planning a poly synth using their modules... 8-O"

This unit was recently completed refurbished by Jay Lemak and Brock Golden from Toronto-based synth repair company Synths When, who also hosted this video.

"Up for sale is a (1) very rare Polyfusion Quad Panner, model QP-1. The unit can be used in two modes: auto and manual. In the auto mode you can control the panning by the depth and speed knobs. It has a build-in LFO which can be used in normal or reverse mode. In auto mode you can control the panning by the joystick. The depth and speed are CV controllable then. The unit is working fine. Optical it's in nice condition for its age, but there are some minor scratches and wear and tear on it (see photo's). One screw is missing at the bottom plate. It's an original 110V version with USA plug and the serial number is: 7705."

"Polyfusion AS-1 Analog Sequencer. Serial# DEMO. It is in good condition cosmetically. Works as designed. I replaced the STEP button a number of years ago. The sale includes the Manual/ Cookbook and a Jones plug for possible expantion."

Has a few slight wrinkles (see pic), no punch holes, no writing. The Polyfusion Modular Synthesizer is one of the great legendary modular synthesizers from the golden age of electronic music. Up there with the Moog Modular, Arp 2500 Modular, EMU Modular, Buchla, Serge, Roland System 700, EMS Synthi 100 and other legends.
