12 08 21 Serge Modular, Scrotum Lab and Késako

video upload by batchas

"The main sound comes form the Késako ex0ex, going to the Késako Reverb.
Voice samples: Késako Player being triggered, going through Variable Slope Filter.
Pinged VCFQ going into Frequency Shifter, sent to WAD in feedback mode.
Sequenced by Scrotum Lab Sequential Switch and Gate Sequencer.

I made a few videos of today's session, the camera was well positioned, but it must have moved before this last one! So I decided to add some footage on it."

Scrotum Lab SL25 PLAYER-REVERB Prototype

batchas

Some info via batchas:

'The module will be available in 4U for Serge and Buchla. It might take a while until ready as I just ordered new proto boards, reducing the functionality I had in mind which turned out not to be the best solution. It will also take a while until the buchla brushed silkscreen panels are ready.

The top part of the module is based on open source Radio Music by Tom Whitwell (Music Thing).
The bottom part is based on open source Spring Reverb MK2, also by Tom, who kindly gave me green light to make these projects. It’s open source, but still I asked for his permission.

I actually already made an adaptation of the Radio Music for the BugBrand system."

7 03 20 Scrotum Lab - Impro

Published on Mar 8, 2020 batchas

"Improvising using Grilles/Radio Music modules and Batchas samples from old unreleased recordings. I'm choosing the samples randomly. Because it's fast (plug'n'play), but also because I like it this way: most of the time something unexpected comes out.

I'm using the H9 presets, as it's fast too and does not need preparation.

Camera battery empty at the end. So I added a video made on the smartphone of outside the house.

This video took a day to upload. Orange in some parts of France is a disgrace."

3 01 20 EH Memory Man - Like meeting again an old friend

Published on Jan 4, 2020 batchas

"I only testing the pedal here, cause I finally got to repair it.
I'm taking the signal from Tresses and send it to the pedal.
I always liked the way the Memory Man is colouring the sound.

I usually do not modify old equipment, but I'm glad I decided to make an exception on this one, by simply adding a pot in the front to replace the trimmer present on the board of the Memory Man.

Funny is the way I felt by having it brought back to life. It was like meeting an old friend when I heard the first sound coming out of the pedal! It's one of the first piece of gear I ever got to make music nearly 4 decades ago!!!"
