Amanda Chaudhary Performance Resident Electronic Music 07-14-2020

CatSynth TV

"Amanda Chaudhary performs a live electronic-music set at Resident Electronic Music, a monthly (live-streaming) showcase hosted by The Laundry in San Francisco.

A mixture of abstract electronics on a modular synthesizer (Sputnik, Metasonix, Strymon, Qu-Bit, Expert Sleepers, FolkTek, Noise Engineering and more), Stylophone, Sensel Morph, Live is Unfair joystick along with beats from Ableton Live and Arturia Spark; and jazz keyboard using Nord Stage EX, Sequential Prophet 12, and Arturia V Collection instruments.

Resident is a monthly electronic audiovisual open mic event started in 2017. It is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at The Laundry. Resident is casual and cool, and the community you'll find is like no other for aspiring electronic musicians in the Bay. No judgments, no bullshit, just positive support and openness to new ideas. "Vintage drum synthesizer, the Tama DS200. The device has been fully tested and is in perfect working condition. I primarily was using it for the very low sub bass frequencies it generates. Many drum machines\synths have short\limited volume envelopes for bass sounds but with this thing you can get loooong sub booms from it. You can also get 50's-ish sci-fi sounds and the sound I think most associated with this devices is the Tom like sound heard on many Disco records of the 70s and 80s. It has two analogue oscillators with sensitivity, sweep range, sweep time, decay time, volume control and pickup input for each oscillator. Then envelop depends on the input source like an envelope follower."

"This one is in really, really nice condition! Looks beautiful and works perfectly.

I have the rack ears (currently attached) and the wood sides. I also have the output jacks rotated to the bottom but I can rotate them to the back if you like."

"As you probably know, the 008 is not being made anymore. This has nothing to do with the design, it's purely because the build cost does not make it a profitable venture at all for Modal. The sound is very reminiscent of the (ARP) Rhodes Chroma mixed with some Memory Moog Plus. The additional features are far more advanced than any of the other analog polysynths on the market right now."
