"I created this 10-minute ambient drone performance using the brand new ‪@instruo‬ Pocket Scion together with the Teenage Engineering OB-4. By connecting the SCÍON’s bio-data sensor to a plant, I used its four engines to generate evolving progressions through D Dorian, E Phrygian Dominant, A Harmonic Minor, and G Mixolydian b6, blending nature and sound into shifting harmonies. The OB-4’s ambient mode transforms these signals into immersive layers and textures, while I captured the audio with a Tula Mic for a detailed, organic sound experience.

In this performance, I play a solo on the Wavy Monkey Bluetooth MIDI Controller, using both its expressive keys and the integrated arpeggiator, captured from a cinematic overhead perspective, blending it with the warm tones of the Klevgrand Elpiano plugin in Ableton Live.

"Wunderkammer sent me their WoO.1 prototype to explore, and I dove in immediately. I built a beat from scratch using only the unit’s built-in sounds, experimenting with its arpeggiator not just for melodies, but to quantize the kick and hi-hat. Since the WoO.1 is a looper and sampler without a traditional sequencer or mixer, this first contact felt raw and inspiring, and within minutes, a compelling beat emerged.

For me, the WoO.1 is like a musical notepad: sketch your ideas, save loops to its internal memory, and build your own library of creative phrases. It also has a built-in battery and can act as a speaker, making it a truly portable creative tool.

The name Wunderkammer itself means cabinet of curiosities in German, a place where marvels and rare objects were collected to inspire awe. In a way, the WoO.1 feels just like that: a little box of sonic wonders, always ready to surprise you.

The 8-step sequencer establishes temporary balance, while interacting directly with the resonators introduces small perturbations that shift the system over time.
Pitch modulation and gradual pressure through the Air fader increase tension, pushing the structure toward new states.

I’m very excited to collaborate with such an innovative brand as BASTL Instruments, which helps many artists to achieve very special and unique sounds. ​​I was lucky to explore in-depth at the amazing SPII Softpop Synthesizer. I've tried a lot of synthesizers. But I've never tried anything like it before. It's a small but mighty sound design tool. As BASTL says: “Softpop SP2 is a radical subtractive synth under the influence of unconventional digital control. It’s a rare beast that excels at both melody and noise in equal measure.” I totally agree with these words.

In this video, I made some patches to make it sound in different ways, in it sounds raw, with its character, using the native sequencer, slide, and scales. In others, I've added external processing with some of my favorite FX pedals, which gives it another kind of character. I also sequenced it with OP-Z's sequencer via midi, receiving clock, and pitch.

The video was recorded before the firmware update. The new firmware makes it an even more powerful tool, with new oscillator waveforms, and more features. So even more creative.

"STUDIO ELECTRONICS CODE 4 playing all the melody tracks. Main track (the that is tweaked in the video) is sequenced by ARTURIA BEATSTEP PRO. The sound of this sequence has its charming character from the FM modulation of the OBERHEIM style 12 dB LoPass filter which is somewhere between fretless bass and a tenor brass instrument!
All tracks are un-EQ-ed and I was using some onboard FX for the ELEKTRON ANALOG FOUR drum sounds. But for the SE CODE 4 tracks I was not using any FX at all!!!"

Voice Architecture

Two voltage controlled discrete analog oscillators and one sub wave of Oscillator 1
Waveforms: triangle, sawtooth and variable width square. All waveforms output simultaneously. Syncing of Osc 2 to Osc 1.

Two voltage controlled discrete analog filters including the new Diode Filter
24db (Diode Filter), 12 db (classic Oberheim SEM). 12db filter has low pass, bandpass, high pass and band reject modes. Each voice has the capability of having four different filters available for use. Additional filters (up to 2 per voice) can be added as desired in any number. Filters do not operate in series or parallel.

Three low frequency oscillators (LFO3 fixed to voice panning)
Waveforms: triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, noise, random. Up to three destinations and depths each for LFOs 1 & 2 with range, delay, key trigger, phase, mode (mono or poly), quantize, midi sync.

Three multiple stage envelope generators
Attack, decay, sustain and release with inverting and multiple triggering. Envelopes 1 & 2 have additional delay, decay2, and breakpoint parameters. Envelope 1 fixed to filter frequency. Envelope 2 fixed to amplifier level. Envelope 3 is assignable with up to three destinations and depths. ALSO NEW Envelope 3 knobs also can control the inputs of the unit.

Glide
Linear or exponential. Parameters: time, mode (auto, legato, glissando), autoglide interval, dynamics, destination.

Unison mode
One, two, four, six, or eight voices. Depending on Voice configuration.
