2. 1974 MiniKorg 700s K2, vintage analog synth for sale in Portland, Oregon - Demo 2 MIDI Bach BWV 565
This is Demo 2 (2 of 2 videos) highlighting the sound and character of the 700s / K2 synthesizer in action, and showing the external control of DAW, via MIDI, into a MIDI-to-CV convertor, connected to the CV inputs on the back side of the 700s. The MIDI songs has multiple organ and harpsichord tracks. The MIDI output to the 700s is one of the main tracks for this piece, panned to the RIGHT side of the stereo field, to help discern the 700s sound. The point of this video is to show the capability of DAW control, given all the external hardware interfaces, which comes with the sale of the 700s as one package.
"All items that come with this sale: * 1974 Korg MiniKorg K2 / 700s * Kenton CV Upgrade (adds 3 CV input jacks/sockets on backside of synth) * Kenton Pro Solo Mk2 (MIDI-CV convertor) * Custom Flight Case * USB to 2-channel MIDI convertor box + long USB cable
Demo video # 1: Demo video #2:
This 1974 MiniKorg K2 / 700s works and sounds great. It has the Kenton CV upgrade, a hardshell case, and I’m throwing in a Kenton Pro Solo Mk2 MIDI-to-CV converter, a USB to 2-ch MIDI convertor, long USB cable.
Everything works great and is ready for any modern studio DAW, or adaptation to your external MIDI capable hardware!
The Kenton CV upgrade “3 socket” kit has three 3.5mm ports (easily interfaces with modular synthesis architecture!) or a MIDI-to-CV convertor (which I am including for free with this sale). The 3 inputs are: CV (pitch in), GATE (note on/off), FILT (filter control).
The synth has been with me for about 14 years. I serviced vintage synth and pro-audio gear for the last 30+ years, and this was one that I restored, upgraded, used for recording, and cared for. Every key contact works great, all adjustments have been calibrated, it stays in tune, and every feature works."
"The SL-1 Synthlab is a 100% true analog circuitry synthesizer with subtractive synthesis. The type of design started in the early 1970s with voltage-controlled modular systems. The use of the low pass filter on the transistor cascade means the SL-1 Synthlab sounds very similar to well-known early Moog synthesizers."
"On June 1st 2019, SynthLab used the Battery Theater at Angels Gate Cultural Center to create an outdoor electronic surround-sound environment with live video art.

"Analog modular eurorack synthesizer demonstrating the fast envelope action of the D-ENV (Delayed Envelope Generator), with the VCF-74 Mk2 (analog diode-ring filter module based on the 1970s mini-Korg 700 700s), and our VCO-81 (CEM3340 precision, high-quality analog VCO - unreleased). Our N-STH (Noise + Sample/Track & Hold) is used to provide white noise for extra snare sound, S&H routed to the HP filter of the VCF-74, and Track & Hold from another N-STH is used to slew the pitch of the CV controlling the VCO-81 (pitch) 1v/octave.
The result is a warm, analog, singing mono-synth voice, full of endless possibilities of character to dial in whether live, recording, or used as a tool for deep sound design in the pro and commercial audio industries."
"Eurorack modular synth wave-folding, mixer AWM-3 by Vintage Synth Lab. The AWM-3 is a mixer, matrix mixer, compressor, wave-folder, and excellent module to accept multiple independent LFO sources for incredibly rich and warm analog chorus-like sounds. 16hp Made in Portland, Oregon, USA"

Technical specifications: · Power Supply (18V AC 1000mA) · Dimensions: 29,8 x 16,5 x 6 cm (L B H) · Weight: 1500 g"
Here we have an AWM-3 wavefolding, while a D-ENV drives the front end (input) of the AWM-3 first stage to created dynamic wave folding (as opposed to static wavefold). Each stage has modulation injected to it's bias / threshold / offset CV input, allowing for a big, chorus-like sound.
The VCF-74 mk2 is our LP filter also being driven by independent D-ENV for both filter cutoff and VCA. The VCO-81 is our synth voice--being driven by the Beatstep Pro Sequencer #2 (yellow)."
"Short demo of VSL Eurorack modules playing To Have and To Hold by Depeche Mode. Wavefolding is dynamic, driven by the D-ENV (delayed env gen module) VCA feeding the AWM-3 (wave folding mixer module), in triple-wave fold configuration.
Next we see three modulation sources, all injected into the three independent wave-fold stage bias or threshold (CV input). This creates a HUGE chorus sound. Think of it as the PWM for non-rectangular waveforms (sine, tri, ramp, saw).
And the use of our VCF-74 (analog filter) with additional D-ENV modules, creates the widest array possible for analog synthesis texture, dynamics, and overall character."
"Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, happy, and creative Halloween!
The AWM-3 is a 3 channel mixer, with additional features such as wave folding/shaping (for both independent positive and negative folding), per channel.
Channels can be chained together to create multi-folding, up to triple wave folding. A compressor allows for dynamic signals (VCA driven) to fine tune a wide array of new sonic character.
Bias is adjustable (threshold for wavefold action), as well as a level trim (6 total) for each channel's positive and negative bias modulation via the additional CV inputs.
Each channel also has a buffered output.
And last, master mix, and three matrix mix combo outputs are always accessible."
"FENESTRA is a global initiative to support visually impaired musicians
Learn more & join the cause! https://fenestra.lv/
On 5th of September first Fenestra workshop took place in the main hub of the initiative - Synthlab in Riga, Latvia. The workshop was organized by Erica Synths and gathered 4 visually impaired musicians from Latvia to learn the possibilities of the Pico System III. It was led by Mario who despite his visual impairment has been mastering modular synthesis for several years in addition to playing trumpet and being a DJ. All the participants were gifted Pico Systems to endorse their continuation of electronic music explorations.
"Two VCO-81s, utilized as the main body voicing of the percussion sound (tom drums in this case). A modulation and equal tracking of exp FM is applied via a D-ENV env gen. One of the VCO-81s is also receiving a slight Lin FM of ~2 Hz..
AWM-3 used as attenuators / gain for CV routing to VCF-74's LP filter cutoff (of white noise portion of drum sound) to allow for custom spread, aka 'keyboard tracking' mixed with a D-ENV env gen.
A huge percussive sound can be synthesized and shaped in a very wide variety of drum sounds, metallic, organic, wood, small to large."
