NatLife Sounds present you a first reFX Vanguard 2 Template, which was created in FL Studio 20 DAW. It’s a part of the new NatLife Trance Expansion soundset which included in Vanguard 2.0.7 version as Factory presets (which are FREE for Vanguard users)
Vanguard 2 FL Studio Template contains a 61 Vanguard 2 synthesizer in the project, Leads, Plucks, Pad's, Key's, ARP's, Sequences, FX's, Impacts and Vanguard 2 Drum Loops presets.

The demo song shows what Vanguard can actually sound like today. Despite the intuitive and simple interface, the synth sounds very warm as for a soft synthesizer, and can easily compete with the Access Virus TI or even the Novation Peak.

2. Patlabor 2 AMV - From Soft Power To Unjust Peace

A futile exercise in relaxation combining a lethargic dance jam with scenes from Mamoru Oshi's movie Patlabor 2 which, amongst other things, ruminates on the notion that developed countries exist in a state of 'unjust peace'. Set in a near future Tokyo, where computer networks and large machines called "Labors" have lead to unprecedented economic prosperity, a terrorist attack is not all that it seems.

"Destination Docklands" 30th Year Anniversary Synth Composition

"Synth music / video tribute to Jean Michel Jarre’s 'Destination Docklands' London concerts, performed 30 years ago in 1988 next to what is now the ExCel exhibition centre at Royal Victoria Dock. Music by Alpicat for Synth and Sundry. Composed with the reFX Nexus 2 VST on Ableton Live and the Alesis Q61 keyboard.

Filmed at Royal Victoria Dock area during BVE expo 2018, and on the DLR in the surrounding areas. Using a Canon EOS M with Magic Lantern 12-bit lossless compressed raw video in Movie crop mode. Resolution 1800x1024. Lenses used Canon EF-M 15-45mm and Pentax 6mm f1.2 TV c-mount.

Canon 50D Magic Lantern - Winter Synth Composition

"A excerpt from a composition demonstrating sounds from the reFX Nexus 2 VST and the the TAL-U-NO LX VST (Juno 60 emulator). Using Ableton Live and the Alesis Q61 keyboard.

The video was shot on a Canon 50D with Magic Lantern Raw, filming in London during the wintry day of 27th February 2018.

Mostly shot in 5x zoom crop mode, 14 bit raw at 1920x1080 resolution. Some shots use full sensor mode (1568x882 resolution).

I used a Canon 17-55mm f2.8 lens, which unfortunately has a broken aperture but is still usable."

"Very short test of the Schneider Kreuznach / Beaulieu Optivaron 6-66mm f1.8 super 8mm lens on a Canon EOS M, with Magic Lantern running 12-bit lossless raw in movie crop mode, 1392x1028 resolution.

This lens vignettes heavily even in movie crop mode so it's necessary to shoot in 4:3 aspect ratio.

Music by Alpicat, using sounds from reFX Nexus 2 VST with the Hollywood Synth Edition expansion pack in Ableton Live."

"Quick jam demonstrating sounds from reFX Nexus 2 VST with the Hollywood Synth Edition expansion pack in Ableton Live. Using the Alesis Q61 keyboard with a Korg Nanokontrol.

The video was shot using Magic Lantern installed on a Canon EOS M. I shot 12-bit lossless raw in crop mode, mostly at 1792x1030 resolution. Lens: Canon EF-M 15-45mm f3.5-6.3
MLV files were transcoded in MLVApp. Colour corrected on Davinci Resolve and warp stabilised in Adobe Premiere."

"A demo of 5 different sounds from the Hollywood Synth Edition 1 expansion pack for reFX Nexus2 VST. I'm using Ableton Live 9, Alesis Q61 keyboard and a Korg Nanokontrol which I set up to work with Nexus2 (work in progress). In the video I'm using the Nanokontrol mainly to control the cutoff and resonance in the filter modifier section of Nexus2. I also briefly try out the arpeggiator feature in Nexus2.

Live Synthesizer Jam 52 : Microkorg, Roland JU-06, Arturia Microbrute and ReFX Nexus 2

"This is my first serious step into using Ableton, VST and hardware together. I really enjoyed the results, maybe a bit to much. I ended up shaking the camera a bit with my leg. My B. =)

The Arturia Microbrute, Roland Boutique JP-08 and Re FX Nexus 2 are sequenced via midi in Ableton Live, while the Teenage engineering PO-12 is sampled for the drum tracks.

The Microkorg is played live and acts as a midi controller for the ReFX Nexus 2. I use key mapping in Ableton Live and the num pad on my PC Keyboard to control mutes and toggle midi control on the ReFX Nexus 2.

Live Korg Volca Jam 35 : Microkorg, Korg Volca & Renoise

"I've taken a few days to explore Renoise more and try to get it work with Ableton the way I like it and pretty much nailed it last night. In this jam I don't push past 16 bars but I'm running a 16 bar 4 pattern loop that cuts the Volca Bass every other pattern so I take small advantage of external sequencer. I'm using Renoise to mute my VST and sample based tracks with PC keyboard. The Korg Volca Bass , Korg Volca Keys and Korg Volca Beats are sequenced by midi with Renoise. I use the local knobs to control the Korg Volca parameters and volume. The Korg Volca Beats only supplies the high hats , the snare and kick are samples from Renoise. I used A few VST's for background sequences. The ReFX Nexus and LennarDigital Sylenth1 are sequenced and muted by Renoise. The Microkorg is played live and supplies a pad and FX.

"A collection of animation tests I made on Anime Studio Pro 11, featuring the animated characters 'Alpicat', 'Pinguin' and and the unfinished 'Mega Giraffe'. Manga Studio 5 and the Wacom Intuos pen tablet were used for drawing.
