From Drone to Heaven | Ambient Techno Jam on Teenage Engineering OP-XY

video upload by Lo-fi Pask

"Creating Ambient Techno on Teenage Engineering OP-XY.

Starting from a distorted drone/pad, this track emerged somewhere between ambient and techno. It was created and performed entirely on the Teenage Engineering OP-XY, with support from the Teenage Engineering TX-6.

I don’t know if the problem is me, or just how easy it is to create something with the OP-XY; but even though I have dozens of half-finished projects ready to go, every time I sit down to record, something inside me says, “let’s make a new track.” That’s exactly how this piece was born: it began with a disturbing pad/drone, joined by ambient textures and an almost techno-like rhythm, before evolving into something more celestial and evocative; yet still keeping the same steady pulse throughout.

Composed, mixed, and mastered entirely on the OP-XY; I used the TX-6 for a few extra effects and to record the performance. I built the scenes but chose to trigger them manually rather than automate them, so I could introduce pauses and transitions exactly where they felt right.

Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy it."

Error Instruments Introduces Indian Resonator Standalone

video upload by errorinstruments paul tas

"✨ The Indian Resonator — now in standalone form! ✨

After years of success in Eurorack, it’s finally here — the Indian Resonator Standalone.
You asked for it… and we made it happen.

🎛️ Two self-oscillating resonant filters that modulate each other — creating deep, organic, harmonic textures.
Somewhere between a synthesizer and an Indian flute.
Warm sub-bass meets airy, flute-like highs — the “air” in the sound. 🌬️

☀️ The standalone version adds something special:
Three light-controlled modulation oscillators — play it with your hands or experiment with light!
Turn each sensor on/off, or control everything with CV.
Perfect between your guitar pedals, Teenage Engineering, or Korg Volca setup.
And yes — it’s still Eurorack compatible. ⚡

🔌 Includes power supply + demo video.
Available now."

Teenage Engineering OP–XY 1.1.0 - sample slicer update

video upload by teenage engineering

with OS 1.1.0, your OP–XY becomes an even more powerful sampler. this update introduces a new sample slicer, perfect for chopping breaks, melodic sequences, or vocals. it offers three slicing modes for flexible, precise control over how you cut and play back your sounds.

transient-based slicing:
OP–XY automatically detects peaks and hits in your sample and slices them—ideal for drums, percussion, or anything with sharp attacks.

time-based slicing:
divides your sample into equal sections, great for loops, rhythmic material, or when you want perfectly even slices across the entire recording.

manual tap:
tap your own slice points to create custom rhythms and break your sample exactly where you want it.

to go along with the slicer, we also added parameter lockability to the drum sampler.

duck:
with the new update there’s a new lfo, duck. use duck to quickly add sidechain compression to any instrument track. it takes audio or note data from one track and modulates the volume of another. use it to create space for your kicks in your bass or to add movement to pads.

this update also brings several quality-of-life improvements for sequencing and performing. you can now define how OP–XY calculates scene length for more precise playback control. song mode has been refined to work consistently with the rest of the device, simply hold shift before pressing buttons. this allows you to continue using the musical keyboard even when in the song mode screen.

using sound link, you can now use the same sound across all patterns of a track, useful for live sets or when you want to skip presets per pattern. and finally, a much-requested feature: delayed scene switch. when performing live, queue up the next scene instead of immediately switching scenes.

Teenage Engineering OPXY // Ready for the dancefloor

video upload by Dexba

"Hello, first time doing techno, if that's even techno? I am so incredibly (irrationally?) afraid of naming genres, because few other things enrage musicians like not getting the genre right.
But I think the very minimalistic video is quite fitting, if only Teenage Engineering had been brave enough and not give a blue tint to their greys (which I obviously removed 😌)
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this video of the tiny OPXY in action, used in almost each of its parts (step components, punch-in fx, different scale tracks, trig conditions, FX, drums, multisampling, alternative patterns per track, pitch bend, live playing, equaliser, compressor, distortion).
I've only left out the Song Mode, mostly because I was afraid of ruining everything by deleting patterns, and also because I like to go with the flow and I never have proper structures in mind while playing, so... But that will be quite an important part of the workflow, especially if you are going live with the OPXY, mostly because it's very hard to do multiple things at the same time, like for example launching/unmuting a clip while playing with the Punch-In FX™, but the idea behind that is that most things should be sequenced anyway, which is both incredibly powerful, and a bit limiting!
Can't wait to finally see a 1.1 firmware on this tiny powerhouse 🧡"

The Analog Eclipse | KORG minilogue xd | Dark to Rock One-Synth-Jam

video upload by Lo-fi Pask

"Even though I’ve got dozens of unfinished projects on my trusty Teenage Engineering OP-XY (some of them almost ready) I felt the need to break the cycle. I had the sense I was starting to repeat myself. So I turned to one of my favorite analog synths, the KORG minilogue xd, looking for a patch that could spark something new. And from that came this track… though I’m still not sure what exactly it is.

As usual, the atmosphere is dark, but halfway through it unexpectedly takes on a rock-inspired twist before returning to its original mood. I even tried reworking the idea on the OP-XY to make it more polished (and complex), but in the end I decided to record it raw—exactly as it came to me.

Hope you enjoy it. I plan to explore this same process on other synths as well. Let me know in the comments if this journey through analog synth sound design intrigues you.

Seventh Summoner & Arp Of Darkness - Swarm Bending

video upload by FlatSix Modular

"Playing around today with the Seventh Summoner and Arp Of Darkness in the small case. I like where this is headed so I thought I’d share.

https://www.flatsixmodular.com

Patch Notes: Clock is handled by Pam’s Pro Workout.

Voice 1 is sequenced by the Seventh Summoner and consists of the supersaw patch on Braids through the 2051 Bit Corrupter patch on the MFX and then into the delay patch on a Noise Engineering Desmodus Versio with the “MultiVersio” firmware flashed to it.

Voice 2 is a saw wave oscillator from the Disting MK4 processed through a Pittsburgh Modular low pass filter, and being sequenced by Sequence X on an Ornament & Crime module with the Phaserville Suite firmware running. The filter is being modulated by the Shredder applet on the Ornament & Crime.

Voice 3 is being arpeggiated by the Arp Of Darkness, and is made up of a swarm & detune patch on the Neutron Sound Dust of Time running through a ping pong delay on another Disting MK4 by Expert Sleepers. I’m hand modulating the swarm to detune the swarmed notes giving it that dissonant contrast and the release of bring things back to unity.

In-Case Drums are being handled by an Erica Synths Pico Drums module running through A low pass filter on another Disting MK4 and into Data Bender by Qu-Bit for glitching duties.

All outputs run through a Kombucha by WGD for delay send duties and then into a Befaco STMIX for mix down to an Intellijel Headphones output in the 1U row.

Additional drums provided by the K.O. II by Teenage Engineering running my own personal samples."

Ambient session with sampled Bamboo flute : Transparent Garden 2025-09-06 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"A piece created with KORG microKORG S, teenage engineering OP-1 field, and Novation Circuit. Electronica where sampled bamboo flute tones resonate over simple chords and rhythms.

On the microKORG, sustained chords are held while NIGHTSKY adds filtering and reverb, with modulation applied to the filter.

The OP-1 field is used to sample and play a Thai bamboo flute, processed with effects through Chase Bliss Audio MOOD MK II.

The Novation Circuit plays rhythm patterns, processed with LOSSY to create a lo-fi texture."
