Dubspot tutorial showing how to create a dirty, aggressive dubstep style wobble bass in Ableton Live from scratch using Live's Operator instrument. Operator is a frequency modulation aka FM synthesizer and this tutorial serves as a basic FM synthesis tutorial as well as teaching you how to make nasty dubstep bass."
"Experimenting with the iPad with POLYSTEPARP. This time I sent the sequence live to a MOOG Little Phatty thats running thru a Freqbox, Ringmod, and a Bass Murf which in turn is passing thru the DAWs Direct monitor live with a u-he Filter with some delays and verb. Access Virus TI Polar is playing some pads in the back"
"A demonstration of one of my custom EPROMS for the Harvestman Piston Honda Eurorack module. No filters have been used for creating the sounds you'll hear in the video. The waves on the EPROM are based on some human voice samples and a lot of work in creating proper transitions between these samples. The morphing has been calculated for the X and the Y axis as well (which means the banks and the waves).
At the beginning i'm using two LFOs to control the PH but later i'm only using a choices joystick module to go through the waves (similiar to the Prophet VS vector functionality).
The melody was generated by the Killpatrick pattern generator and also some delay from the TipTop Z-DSP has been added.
I had so much fun playing around with the EPROM sounds that i completely forgot about time so i ended up with an eight minute video. If you are short on time and directly want to hear the variety of sounds and morphing functionality just jump to 4:40 and you will get an impression of the possibilities of this EPROM."
"Ok folks, this shows how little talent I have for actually playing a synth. but I had a lot of fun playing this and the Organ patch with a little modulation to simulate a leslie effect sounds so nice.
In preparing this and listening to this video I noticed a similiarity to Nugent's Stranglehold except the Korg Z1 is using a digeradoo like patch instead of the bassline in the famous song.
Korg ER-1 mkII provides the drum track and a couple times near the end I swivel around in the chair and mess with the Doepfer R2M which is controlling the Technosaurus Microcon via cv.
Don't flame me to bad on my performance, nervous in front of the camera which now has an audience, timing off here and there, but I had fun. Enjoy.."
