The Akai XE8 is a rack mount Programmable Sample SOund Module/MIDI Drum Expander. For Drum Sequencers, Synthesizers, MIDI Sequencers and MIDI Master Keyboards. The XE8 is a rhythm sound source with 16 basic internal sounds and 32 external sounds through external cards 1 & ". The XE8 can also store up to 32 programs of diverse parameters so that subtle sound nuances can be expressed. Each sound can be processed by changing the parameters of the sample sound. Korg iMS-20 app and MS-20 USB controller

"Noodling around on this compact combo. iPad breathes new life into the MS-20 USB controller. Apologies for the crappy camera work and test sounds. I just got them hooked up and was literally recording as I was trying stuff out for the first time. Will make a steady cam and properly recorded piece when I get time. This combo is really fun. There are so many more features I didn't get to record but explored after this video. I'm lucky I had a USB MS-20 to hook up to my iPAD. The only downside I see is the pad has no way to be powered while you are doing this so eventually it will run out of battery. Still.. it's already a load of fun."

Minimoog plays Daft Punk - Derezzed
YouTube via peterkeys88 | January 05, 2011 |
"peterkeys.net - Just heard the soundtrack for Tron: Legacy and i had to learn the Derezzed riff. Just a clip thru some of the ideas they hit, using a Minimoog Model D with a Moogerfooger Phaser, MFB Schlagzwerg drum machine with a Moogerfooger Low-Pass, and a Korg KP3 at the end. We can't be as cool as Daft Punk, but we can still try."
