Roland Jupiter 8 Synthesizer w/Encore JP8MK midi kit

via this auction
"In addition the the stock features, this Jupiter 8 is fitted with the Encore JP8 MK midi retrofit kit (manual included with instrument), which adds additional patch memories and the following additional midi features...

-Separately selectable MIDI channel for upper and lower banks.
-Arpeggiator can be clocked from the original way (internal/external) or from MIDI with a variable PPQ from 1 to 24.
-MIDI pitch bend. Scaleable from the front panel in semitone intervals up to one octave.
-Hold from MIDI (Controller 64d - sustain)
-Keyboard mode-Solo, Unison, Poly1, Poly2 selected from sysex message or non-registered parameter.
-Arpeggio mode- Range 1,2,3,4; Up, Down, Up/Down, Random selected from sysex message or non-registered parameter.
-MIDI EXPRESSION to FILTER cutoff. (Controller #11d)
-MIDI VOLUME to VCA control. (Controller #07d)
MIDI BREATH controller to VCA, Filter cutoff, or Both. (Controller #02d)
-Portamento ON/OFF from controller # 41h (65).
-COMPUTUNE from MIDI Tune Request F6h
-MIDI dump from "cassette save" button while in MIDI mode. This allows JP8s to transfer patches without the need for a computer. This also allows a generic sysex utility to store the JP8 memory.

The Encore JP8 MK kit also provides an additional 64 patches for a total of 128 patches. They can easily be selected from MIDI or from the front panel. The patch presets can also remember any two patches from the total 128. DUAL MIDI CHANNEL RESPONSE allows a SPLIT preset to have each timber controlled by separate MIDI channels over a five octave range. If the JP8 is in SPLIT mode, it will respond to MIDI data on two independent channels. If the JP8 is in the DUAL mode, it will respond to all data only from the upper channel with one exception. The exception is that it will still respond to patch change information on the lower channel to facilitate modification of the layer. This will simplify sequencing because the JP8 will not require two identical note data streams."

Peter Brown's Oberheim Xpander?

via this auction

"This unit was at one time owned by Peter Brown, and there is a service log on the back of the unit documenting this - see the photos. Here is some information on Peter Brown from allmusic.com:

"Peter Brown first came to fame with the first million-selling 12" dance single, "Do Ya Wanna Get Funky with Me." Brown was a pioneer in home recording, having recorded his seminal hit in his bedroom. (His '70s-era home recording studio is pictured on the cover of Westside/DNA's Get Funky with Me: The Best of the TK Years.) He also co-wrote Madonna's 1985 pop hit, "Material Girl," with Peter Rans. Buchla Music Easel Prototype?

via Buchla Tech where you'll find more pics and details.

"The Music Easel is the street name for the combination of the Buchla 208 and 218 touchplate keyboard. I was recently called upon to repair the prototype unit, built in 1973. This unit was resurrected in 1987 and had since been in a basement, used from time to time without ever being moved. He built a very cool blue wood enclosure for it with a built in linear power supply..."

TouchOSC Template for the M-Audio Venom

You can find the TouchOSC template here. Note this does require The Missing Link to work as it uses OSC to MIDI for sysex support.

You can find a TB MIDI Stuff port of the editor which does not require The Missing Link here.

video here

The template covers single mode for the M-Audio Venom. Click on each image for the full size shot. You can see every single editable parameter of the Venom in single mode. Note the Venom does have 16 modulation slots. I stopped at 10 as that is good enough for me for now.

The template is mapped for The Missing Link. You can however map it to OSCulator or other so it should at least save you some time if you are on those formats. Update: You can find a TB MIDI Stuff port of the editor which does not require The Missing Link here.

See this post for a video - note I switched to the Venom color scheme for the template. It looks much sharper than the rainbow colors I originally had.

"Another proof how much joy 30 minutes with an iPad and Korg iMS-20 can give you. It's not totally faithful to the original, so JMJ purists please don't complain :-)"
