"This Akai EWI 1000 & EWV 2000 synthesizer module was purchased in 1989 at a 'Discount On Sale Special' from Maggio Music NY by mail-order as an investment vehicle. I thought they would appreciate in value because it was an interesting device, a new direction in design. The EWI and EWV were un-packed and examined for defects, tested for performance of all features - the EWI 1000 keys, contact switches, glide plates, octave rollers and mouthpiece/ transducer and breath features worked perfectly. The EWV 2000 module's dial switches, slider switch, push switches, sockets and all synthesizer functions and features worked and were fully functional. The factory programmed 'voices' all had that full analog quality the early Akai synths possessed, very similar to a KORG sound palette. Both units were then re-boxed, wrapped in plastic and stored 'at room temperature' for future sale. The boxes have never been opened. The EWI 1000 and EWV 2000 have never been used or tested since 1989. Both units are Virtually Brand New. The neck strap and AC power cable are 'new and ready'. The instrument to module cord is 'factory' condition. I've been told that it's what most owners worry about. I'm surprised no one has produced an aftermarket alternative. The EWI 1000 to EWV 2000 cable is PRISTINE. It has been separately bagged for all these years; 23 years - it doesn't have a blemish or crack, it's still supple and pliant - the 9U AWM 20083 E44013 DAIICHI DENKO-T cable is PERFECT - It still has that factory fresh 'rubber' smell. It's actually tied with the original factory 'twisty.' Both units are still packaged in factory cardboard cartons"
