Kinect controlling Korg iMS20 for iPad
Published on Oct 20, 2012 by Josué Palma
"Another simple experiment...
i use synapse to control devices on Ableton Live, but i wanted to control another midi hardware from live, like my boss gt8 guitar processor, on this example the Y and Z positions of my right hand are changing the cutoff frecuency of the vc highpass and lowpass filter of my iMS20 respectively, the messages are routed with maxforlive devices (to avoid osculator and have automation with live) and sent via midi over wifi."

"This is a rare and historic synthesizer. It was one of the earliest Putneys made in 1969, Serial #193. It is in excellent condition, hardly a scratch anywhere. All three boards were recently serviced and calibrated by Robin Wood at EMS in England. Electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, envelope maximum decay time tweaked up to 45 sec., Osc3 increased slow frequency range.
Apart from that, everything is original, no modifications have been made. The matrix pins are all white - this is how the early Mark I Putneys came. Even the AC plug is still original. The pin matrix surface itself looks like new.
It sounds absolutely wonderful. I have tested all functions / matrix combos to the best of my ability and everything works, including the envelope light.
Includes original Ionic Industries VCS3 manual ("...The synthesizer for the seventies...") which contains many patch diagrams. It looks to be mostly the same as the "official" EMS VCS3 manual.

Rear and bottom panel are missing but they are just pieces of hardboard, easy to replace. Also as you can see from the pictures, many of the silver knob caps are missing but are also easy to replace."

Struggle

"Last week I bought a second hand Oberheim OB-Mx with 3 voice cards, so 6 voices. And no, I did not trade my Modular for the OB-Mx. The Modular and some other instruments are at my friends place because of the performance on E-Live on 27 October.
In the beginning you hear the Oberheim OB-Mx 6 voices with the VCA opened. Then some noise from the Waldorf Q Keyboard and notes from the Animoog App on the iPad (my favorite App until now). After some time the sequences from the Doepfer MAQ16/3 start. An 8-step sequence from row 1 is driving the Oberheim OB-Mx, Row 3 has an 16-step sequence with 4 steps active driving the self-built Modular doing the bass tones. Somewhat later row 2 is added driving the Nord Wave doing 2 tones. The Mellotron-like flute sound comes from the Korg PE-1000 doing a solo. After that you can hear strings from the Waldorf Q Keyboard. Anne used my iPhone 4 to film this video.
You can download/see/hear the video and music from my website soon."
