Note the EX-1 is not the pre-cursor to the GX-1. That would be the "EX-42 (1970–1977, stage model, design origin of GX-1)" according to the list of Yamaha products on Wikipedia.

"This organ/synthesizer is one of the rarest synthesizers in existence, as it is rumored that less than 100 were ever built. Known as the theater version of the ultra rare Yamaha GX-1, this beautiful instrument packs all the sonic possibilities of a standard organ and polyphonic synthesizer into one gigantic and unique package..."

Allegory

Published on Sep 13, 2013 br0therl0c0·12 videos

"Delving back into dark rhythm-drone territory here. The basic structure is 3 outboard synths cross patched with the modular, each using a separate timing pulse. The trigger for the MS-20 Mini is a square LFO that is run through a filter before feeding the MS-20's VCA input. Adding resonance to that square wave provides an amazing amount of tonal variation. An Oberheim SEM, Moog Voyager Old School, and MacBeth MK1 Modular provide the rest of the sound.

Everything is performed/sequenced live. All synths and FX are analog and CV controlled.

Annotated to provide a bit of info.

Details:
- A Synthetic Sound Labs 1250 Quad LFO is the main clock source. This feeds a Moon M554 Clock Divider and M569 Sequencer.
- The MS-20's VCA trigger LFO is run through an STG Post-Lawsuit Lowpass Filter. The HP and LP filters are modulated by separate external LFO's.
- The Voyager's OSC2 is synched to OSC1 and modulated by the S&H LFO for the occasional "glitch" sound. Also run through an MF-104Z analog delay.
- MacBeth MK1 modules run through Q115 Spring Reverb.
- Live mixed using 2 Alesis Multimix 8 Line mixers.
- Recorded straight into Digital Performer using a MOTU 828 MK3 audio interface. Mastered with iZotope Ozone.
- Shot in HD with a Canon Rebel t4i. Edited in iMovie."

"Fanfare intro to a forthcoming instrumental song called Athlete.
All melodic sounds are played with MonotrOndes. I have improved the design of MonotrOndes. Now the expression lever also controls the filter cutoff.
Epic brass sounds!"

Waldorf Rocket Demo

"This is a quick jam out on the Rocket, a hybrid synthesizer from Waldorf. The synth consists of digital oscillators and an analog filter. The Unison Modes are the stars of the show, allowing chords and massive super-saw sounds from a monophonic synth."

"I synced* the Pulse Code Modular iPad app with my Eurorack, Tinysizer and LushOne to create a huge, interconnected, drony modular synth noise mess. All sounds and sequencing done with this one patch. The Vermona analog drum machine is also CV-triggered by the Eurorack for some additional drum sounds. Questions or comments? Go ahead and post them below! :) Thanks for watching! MORE INFO: V V V V

* I used LFO pulses as a clock, going out of the iPad's right audio channel. The left channel provided the sounds from the Modular app, going into the rest of the synths.
