Shruthi XT SMR-4 MKII - First Noodle

"After two days of hectic building I finally put my Shruthi XT kit from Mutable Instruments together. It's a good thing I bought the XT since my Shruthi currently has no LCD or LEDs (I'm ordering different ones than what the kit came with).

This demo is just a noodle of the XT control surface and SMR-4 filter. I tried to capture some of the squelchy and fat characteristics of this particular board. I plan on using a 4PM filter eventually in the XT, just have to build it first!

The sound is straight from the output of the Shruthi into my MOTU interface. The Shruthi is being sequenced by a MIDI-enabled KORG Monotribe. Enjoy!"

"this was gone over during the past month and fully cleaned, and tested.
the filter was slightly adjusted to be more squelchy or acidy, not exactly but rather close to a 303.... they already sound pretty similar btw.
i've compared this unit to 2 other 101's over the past month and it has a unique sound, and actually none of the 3 sounded "exactly" the same.
the sequencer in the 101 is magic, similar to the 303's and it really comes alive when used.
portamento and slide are present even.

cosmetic/functional condition:
slight discoloration on the body, very minor wear. a boss sticker on the back. replacement battery cover from technology transplant . =(
battery compartment is clean, springs are good. all keys and the key bed was just gone over and is 100%
all sliders intact with caps but some caps aren't perfect and show signs of use and or wear.
for the bender section i made little padded velvet inserts for the toggles, as they were rotted and old.
not museum quality, but still an awesome synth.

mystery issues:
the lfo modulation to vco seems to not do anything.
the bender sections bend to filter seems to not do anything.
it's a easy fix i believe, with some slight adjustments to the interior pots.
but i've already taken too long working on it.
the filter works great, just not with the pitch bender."
