Crossbreeding of the Volca Wolf

Published on Apr 8, 2015 HardtekStudios

"Download the audio track for FREE here-https://soundcloud.com/hardtek-studio...
The Wolf's synth output is being routed into the Carrier input of the Moog Ring Modulator. The output of the Volca bass is routed into the audio in of the Moog Ring Modulator, so the Wolf synth is now modulating the Volca bass creating a gritty aggressive sound that changes depending of the pitch of the Wolf synth. The Wolf drums are playing the Kick, Snare, & Hat while the Volca Beats is playing the Lo & Hi Toms with a little bit of the kick layered in to give the toms more attack. Recorded & mixed in Logic."

New Patchable Roland Aira Synth & Eurorack Modules - Musikmesse Teaser Pic

Click the pic to the left for the full size shot. The image is from Roland.com. Below it is another image of the Roland System-1 for comparison. Going right to left you'll notice the knob and slider layout is almost identical between the two. Note what appears to be mounting holes along the top and bottom as well as the top row of patch points. You can see a glimpse of the actual hardware unit in this previous post.

Now as for the modules below, note what appears to be mounting holes on the corners. The obvious guess would be eurorack modules. You can see that the height of the modules match the height of the new desktop module above. If you look at the previous post, you will see that it appears to be the same height as eurorack. So what we are likely looking at is Roland officially entering the eurorack market with a System-1 with patch points that can be rack mounted into a euro case, along with four new modules. Aside from differences in the LEDs the modules appear to be identical. Considering the System 1 can transform into different synths based on what software is loaded, a good guess is we are actually looking at one module that can transform into four different modules. There aren't any visible patch points in the renders though. Are they hiding them for now? We'll find out soon enough. The Musikmesse is set to start next Wednesday April 15.
