Game of Thrones theme performed on the Baloran the River synthesizer

Published on Apr 21, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"I recreated the awesome theme to HBO's epic series Game of Thrones using the Baloran The River synthesizer, which was multi-tracked in Cubase 10. The music for the series was composed by the very talented Ramin Djawadi...

Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The series premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and will conclude with its eighth season."

ROLAND ALPHA JUNO-1 GAME OF THRONES THEME Analog Synthesizer Fantasy Music Rik Marston

Published on Nov 7, 2017 SynthgodXXX

"ROLAND ALPHA JUNO-1 GAME OF THRONES THEME
**100% No Talking!** **Turn it UP!** **Watch in HD**

I am soooo addicted to HBO's "Game of Thrones"
I wanted to hear how the ROLAND ALPHA JUNO would sound
playing "A song of Ice & Fire" composed by Ramin Djawadi
I managed to learn how to play the full composition
but decided to hit the internet for the MIDI FILE.
I found this page & great work:
http://www.garyw0001.com/GMIDI/Game_O...
AUTHOR: Gary Wachtel (GaryW0001@GaryW0001.com)
I downloaded the MIDI FILE & put it into
the KORG M3 and "Event Edited" away, set up my
MIDI connections to the ROLAND ALPHA JUNO-1.
Hours later I had recorded many different parts
with different CLASSIC ALPHA JUNO patches....
I put it all together into ABLETON LIVE & added
some basic REVERB... This is not the FULL VERSION
of the opening theme, but it was enough for me to
accomplish what I was after! I hope you dig this!!!!

Thank you for watching!"

Game of Thrones Theme on a Modular Synthesizer (@obrienmedia)

Published on Mar 31, 2015 Patrick OBrien

"The Game Of Thrones theme played on a modular synthesizer, with the melody played on my DSI Mopho analog synth below the modular.

No computers were used in this song, other than the pressing the space bar to play the Game of Thrones Season 5 trailer in the background.

This theme showcases the Kilpatrick Audio K4815 Pattern Generator, The Harvestman's Malgorithm for the bit crushing effect, and MakeNoise's Rene for the bass sequencing. I used Mutable Instruments' Yarns as a clock source.

Linnstrument & Synthmaster VST Demo - Game of Thrones Theme

Published on Jan 24, 2017 cube48

"Game of Thrones Theme played on Linnstrument, sound generated by Synthmaster VST plug-in, using my own expressive synthetic cello patch. No samples of string instruments, just a bit of carefully mixed wavetable and FM synthesis, going through two parallel filters and a drop of Synthmasters inbuilt effects. Master multi-band compression by Reaktor's FlatMaster ensemble."

Clawtar - Adaptive MIDI Controller for the iPad & ChordUp for iPhone & iPad

Published on May 15, 2016 Dmitry Klochkov

Spotted this one on discchord. The above goes through a number of quick demo videos of the Clawtar followed by ChordUp. Don't miss the Game of Thrones demo in video 8. The following is the info on both apps via iTunes.

iTunes: Clawtar - Adaptive MIDI Controller - Dmitry Klochkov

"Clawtar is a musical instrument and MIDI controller with adaptive interface.

The biggest problem with all virtual musical instruments is the almost complete lack of tactile reference.
You have to constantly control your performance with your eyes to make sure your fingers go to the right places.

This aproach is not very good for two reasons. Firstly, vision is much slower than audio and tactile perceptions.

Secondly, the process of continuous analysing of visual information is very resource intensive for your brain.

As a result, it is very hard to feel relaxed and concentrate on the music during a performance.

So how can we solve this problem?

Instead of trying to adapt to an instrument we can make the instrument to adapt to the player!

Clawtar's adaptive interface allows you to position your hands and fingers in the most natural and comfortable way.
After choosing your position, you can play by moving only your fingers, with your hands completely relaxed.
This approach minimizes the need of visual control, allows you to leverage your muscle memory, and gives your brain more time to think about the music you are playing.

FEATURES

• Adaptive interface
• Chromatic scale
• 4+ octaves range (8+ with octave shift buttons)
• Pitch-bend control
• Modulation control
• Volume control
• Repeat button (allows to play same note multiple times faster)
• Transposition (allows to change root note)
• 9 built-in sounds.
• Virtual MIDI and Wi-Fi MIDI output."

iTunes: ChordUp - Dmitry Klochkov

"ChordUp is a chord musical instrument and MIDI controller for live performance.

With more than 100 available chords you can play almost any song spontaneously without any pre-configuration.

Play easily any chord pattern: full chords, bass and chord, strumming, arpeggios, power chords, etc.

Control your favorite synthesizer or sampler though MIDI.

ContinuuCon Electronic Music Conference Scheduled for Portugal

Press release follows:

ContinuuCon 2023, the fifth international Haken Continuum Conference, is slated for May 17–19 in Palmela, Portugal. This year’s focus will be on every electronic musical instrument that features the Continuum’s internal sound engine, the EaganMatrix. This includes the new Osmose synthesizer from French manufacturer Expressive E, as well as the Continuum Fingerboard, ContinuuMini, and EaganMatrix Module for Eurorack from Haken Audio. As in previous years, the conference extends opportunities for musicians, sound designers, software developers, and music enthusiasts to explore these uniquely expressive instruments through presentations, performances, and hands-on experience.

ContinuuCon 2023 will begin with an evening reception on May 17, just four days after Superbooth ends in Berlin. Over the next two days, Continuum and Osmose experts and master musicians will present lectures and demos at the Palmela Public Library. For tickets, information, and videos of past events, visit the website continuucon.com.

Over decades of collaboration, University of Illinois professor Dr. Lippold Haken and Canadian film and TV composer Edmund Eagan developed the EaganMatrix and the Continuum family of instruments. Both men will be on hand throughout the event, along with their counterparts from Expressive E and other authorities, to share their technical knowledge and musical expertise.

Previous Continuum conferences have been held at IRCAM in Paris and in Asheville, North Carolina. Haken Continuum players include Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi, Brazilian electro-acoustic musician Amon Tobin, film composer A.R. Rahman, Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess, and The Who’s Pete Townshend, who said, “I absolutely adore it. The Continuum is already inspiring me to new ideas.”

About Haken Audio’s Instruments
The Continuum Fingerboard is a polyphonic electronic instrument that offers continuous multidimensional performance control by responding to each finger independently. The ContinuuMini is a smaller, more affordable duotactic model based on the same technology. Inside is the EaganMatrix, a user-programmable digital modular synthesizer taking full advantage of the supple playing surface’s myriad performance possibilities.

About Palmela, Portugal
About 25 miles from Lisbon, the city of Palmela features art, nature, heritage, gastronomy, award-winning wines, arts and crafts, and nearby, the beautiful beaches of the Arrábida, making it an excellent location for ContinuuCon. With the support of the Palmela City Council, Passos e Compassos is pleased to host ContinuuCon 2023.

Electro Faustus EF109 Drone Thing Synthesizer RARE Game of Thrones GoT Targaryen

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This listing is for a rare hand-painted House Targaryen version of the Electro Faustus EF109 Drone Thing Synthesizer, called the "Throne of Drones." (I've seen a Lannister version somewhere out there.) This Drone Thing is practically brand new, I've had it for a little more than a month and I just needed it for one project. Used exclusively in a non-smoking studio. I'm including a 9V Boss power supply.

From Electro-Faustus:

The Electro-Faustus Drone Thing EF109 is a noise maker par excellence for sonic mischief creating layers of drones that could fit in at hipster art gallery experimentation or mucking about with your friends with some chemical enhancement in the basement. Mostly...it's just so damn fun to play with!

It works by generating layers of tones which are layered on top of one another to generate some really interesting drone-y backdrops. There are 6 different oscillators which you can tweak the pitch of and toggle between, as well as Tone, Volume, and a Starve control which adds nicely to the weirdness. Add some reverb and delay and the thing just starts singing as you twiddle knobs.

And it just looks gorgeously sexy.

Insanely fun soundscape generation, this ain't music..it's chaos
Volume, Tone, Power Starve Global Controls
6 x Oscillators with Pitch and Toggle Controls
Made in the USA
Powered using Standard Boss Style 9V Adapter"

Anne Boleyn Bass & Patch Tributes

Thought this was pretty cool/funny.

via @alarke_

"I love @moogmusicinc - their synth pad names are hilarious. Anne Boleyn Bass - preset E:91 🎹"

For those not familiar with Anne Boleyn, via Wikipedia: "Anne Boleyn (/ˈbʊlɪn/, /bəˈlɪn/ or /bʊˈlɪn/)[3][4] (c. 1501[1] – 19 May 1536) was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536 as the second wife of King Henry VIII, and Marquess of Pembroke in her own right.[5] Henry's marriage to Anne, and her subsequent execution by beheading, made her a key figure in the political and religious upheaval that was the start of the English Reformation."

There was a TV series called The Tudors on King Henry VIII with Anne Boleyn played by Natalie Dormer, who also plays Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones.

The preset as you can see is on the Minimoog Voyager. Regarding creative preset names on Moog synths, they also did a tribute to a number of people in the synth community on the Little Phatty. MATRIXSYNTH ended up factory preset number 70. Click through to see the rest.

Love it when manufacturers do things like this.

Game of Thrones Remix on NESKeytar (8-bit)

Published on Jun 3, 2014 Theremin Hero·28 videos

"Full explanation of the NESKeytar construction and it's various features coming soon.
Yes, I know I misspelled "functional". A complete lack of proof reading, woops :(

Most of the buttons are functional and can be remapped to different functions, as can the whammy bar. It also has an onboard arpeggio and drum sequencer.

The sound comes from the original RP2A03 chip in the NES, giving it that classic 8-bit sound. All of the available sound channels are utilised.

The software runs on a raspberry pi and is written in a language called Pure Data (pd). There are various modes including a midi controller mode as well as a standalone mode, which allows the whole instrument to be used with a battery pack.

Components:
NES
Guitar Hero Controller
Famicom Controller
NES controller
Toy Keyboard
3 Mini Arduinos
Raspberry Pi
MaxM LEDs
Midi IN/OUT connections
MidiNES / Chip Maestro
