Dave Smiths masterpiece and for me one the best synthesizers ever. Digital oscillators and analog filter/amp, arpeggiator and unique sound chraracter."
Single Channel Test on Novation Circuit
Published on Aug 17, 2016 pselodux
"Here's a quick experiment; I got the idea from my nanoloop work—and chiptunes in general—where one channel can handle a lot of different sounds at once.
Some notes:
The parameter changes aren't quite as instant as I thought they'd be, so I've tried to hack it by adjusting some of the parameters on the step before they're supposed to sound in full. This does result in some "leaks", but it's an interesting effect :D
The custom patch for this can be found here:
http://0f.digital/files/dynamo.syx
Macro controls are as follows:
1: at 0, enable melodic sound osc 2; 1–127 is for bassdrum/percussion osc 1, with varying amounts of pitch envelope modulation
2: Noise level, for snare
3: Cutoff for noise/osc 2
4: Resonance and filter envelope amount for noise/osc 2
5: Amplitude decay/release
6: Wave index for osc 2—analog tri/saw preset
7: Ring mod amount
8: Chorus level"
FSFX 103 Lopass Gate
Free State FX: Lopass Gate - Rhythmic Demo
Published on Aug 11, 2016 freestatefx
"Free State FX is excited to announce the release of our new FSFX 103: Lopass Gate module in MU format. We started with the Buchla 292C schematic, and Phil Petschke of Megaohm aided in the design of the unique resonance circuit. The result expands upon the possibilities of the original Lopass Gate by incorporating a new resonance/feedback circuit capable of self oscillation and waveshaping.
Of the initial 20 unit production run, only six remain. $220 plus shipping. Order today!
Features
Vactec VTL5C3/2 Vactrol for classic sound and response
Can be used as a VCF, VCA, or both
FM Input with Inverting Level Control
dotcom Power Header
All thru-hole PCB components (no SMD)
Shallow - module depth only 1.75"
1/4" Switchcraft Jacks"

DIY Synthesizer - Experimenting with Effects
Published on Aug 17, 2016 Trance Zero Space
"This is a rough demonstration of a home-made synthesizer named the 'ESL i-Lander.' The synth is a combination of purposely short-circuited electronics from a toy keyboard and parts from a MIDI keyboard that utilize iPad effects synthesis. iPad programs used are Audiobus, Loopy (to create loops from the audio of the ESL i-Lander), Turnado by Sugar Bytes (MIDI effects synthesis), and Cubasis (the DAW recording all audio)."

"Making sounds with a home-made synthesizer that is a combination of purposely short-circuited electronics from a toy keyboard and parts from a MIDI keyboard that utilize iPad effects applied to the short-circuited sounds. Toggle switches, a big button, and a small reset button were applied to the new, short-circuit sounds of the toy keyboard electronics."

"This Z-DSP is fully functional and in Mint condition. Included are the Dragon Fly Delay and Halls of Valhalla Cartridges.
Fitted with a custom black panel. Original panel is included as well.
The Z-DSP is an open-source, cartridge-based, digital sound processing and generating platform for your modular synthesizer. The Z-DSP has a stereo DSP processor with 24-bit sampling, 15khz of bandwidth, smooth voltage controlled parameters, and has the ability to be programmed - all in a Eurorack format. While the Z-DSP cannot compete with the processing power found on personal computers, it does provide direct control of the DSP hardware and has a unique set of features aimed at the manipulation of digital effects. With the Z-DSP, digital audio can be bent, stretched, deformed, and distorted by interacting with your modules; something personal computers just can't do.
The Z-DSP interface includes VC digital parameters, VC Mix/Dry, manual and sequential program switching, and a pair of VC feedback loop paths with exposed patch points that let you insert the rest of your modular into the DSP process. The Z-DSP lets you go far beyond ordinary processing, breaking the rules and allowing you to patch right into the heart of the DSP chip through the clock input, allowing for some digital madness and creative sound design.
Width: 28HP
Depth: 59mm
Consumption: 130 mA +12V / 36 mA -12V"
