"This OB-X is the 4-voice model in top condition and with very minor wear given its age. This synth sounds fantastic, everything works as it should and is very stable. I had it serviced about 2 years ago by a former Oberheim employee. Service included recapping of the power supply, replacing OS chips, renew some of the old cables, and adding new key bushings. I also had him retrofit it with the ElectronGate MIDI kit.
The Oberheim OB-X is the rarest of the entire OB-series and touted by many (including Tom Oberheim himself) as the best sounding model of the OB series, which is due to its all discrete components (except for the envelopes, for which it uses CEM3310 chips) and the SEM-based design used in the earlier Oberheim Two- and Four Voice synths. Only 800 Oberheim OB-Xs were manufactured and it is estimated that an even smaller number of them are alive today in fully working condition.
Furthermore, the OB-X is THE synth behind legendary sounds, such as the haunting pad sound in Killing Joke's "Love Like Blood", the intro reso-sweep sound in Rush's "Tom Sawyer", the entire Queen "Flash Gordon" soundtrack, Nena's "99 Luftballons", and of course Van Halen's "Jump" (the list goes on)."

Cloning Euro - uBit Gourd - a Qu-Bit Chord Audulus Module

Get Audulus for: iOS | Mac | Windows/Linux
I LOVE the Qu-Bit Chord module - if you haven't tried it out or seen a video, you should check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE3QJ... [posted here]
Although I have a hardware version, it's a fun exercise to take hardware modules and reconstruct them in Audulus. This is phase 1 of the process - using Macro Machine's infinite crossfader (included in the new update) to fade dynamically between 4 oscillators, and having the 7th chord built up at the input. Clearly based on how the inversions and voicing and harmonization works in the actual Qu-Bit module version works, I have a lot to do to rework the front end, but here it is - the beginnings of my uBit Gourd module! I'll share it with everyone when it's finished at http://www.forum.audulus.com
If you're interested in buying the actual module, buy it from the store I work for on Reverb.com - http://www.reverb.com/shop/centurysou...
If you ask me nicely at mark@audulus.com I'll share the in-progress patch with you :)

Cover - Phuture's Acid Tracks (Readers Digest mix) & 303 Distortion Party
Published on Sep 19, 2016 retrosynthads
"First attempt at covering Phuture's Acid Tracks - Reader's Digest mix. Very raw. In attendance are the TB303s, as well as the TR707/727 drum machine combo also used in the original.
Yeah - I took a few liberties.
Notes for next time: more squelch required."
303 Distortion Party
Published on Sep 19, 2016 retrosynthads
"TB303 #1 going through a RAT distortion pedal. TB303 #2 going through Boss Overdrive and Delay pedals. Electribe 2 for drums. Everything going through too much reverb from a Strymon BlueSky pedal. Korg KMS-30 providing MIDI-DIN SYNC conversion. And the smallest mixer I could find at the moment. Compression during the quiet parts coming from video camera input."
After Midnight Jam
Published on Sep 19, 2016 Jörg Schaaf
"A little midnight jam featuring the snapshot memories of the RT-311 Swarm Oscillator and the Strymon Timeline delay with the tape delay algorithm. I used the Doepfer A-155 step sequencer for triggering the envelopes, defining the pitch of the sequence and selecting different RT-311.
Filter: RT-451Dual Multimode - what else ;-)
The groove and the bass: Spectralis 2
additional Doepfer modules: 2x A-140 Envelopes, 1 DVCA A132-3, A-190-4 MIDI-CV interface (Sync from Spectralis to A-155)
Mixdown Soundcraft Signature 22 MTK
Recording: Apple Logic Audio 2 track recording from the mixing desk stereo output via Soundcaft Signature 22 MTK USB.
