"This is a quick demo of this very rare Chamberlin Model 25 Rhythmate Drum Machine that we have for sale. We do not know of any others like to this in existence. It is very small compared to the better known Chamberlin Model 30 Drum Machine. It was designed to hang off a organ bench. Amazing!"

Published on Dec 3, 2016 Techno Empire

"This video was shot by renowned synth and organ tech Ken Rich while he was restoring our Chamberlin Rhythmate Model 25 Drum Machine. Built in 1949, it may be one of the earliest made. It is truly a Drum "Machine". This video shows the internal workings of the tape loop. See our other demo video with the unit put back together."

"This listing is for an extremely rare CHAMBERLIN Rhythmate (model 25) tape loop drum machine. It is one of the first drum machines ever produced, made in 1949. This is a modular version that seems to have been made to hang on a piano or organ bench. Very little is known about it or if there are any others. It may have been a one-off. The internal workings are a marvel to behold with several feet of recorded drum loops winding around multiple pulleys. See video's...

It measures a tiny 8.5 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 6 inches deep!

ACCESSORIES - Includes the Reverse Hanger to mount on a organ bench. This item comes only as seen in photos, does not include any other accessories.
PHYSICAL CONDITION - Excellent. The paint on the reverse hanger scratched off in places and starting to oxidize. For it's age it's in great shape.
WORKING CONDITION - Very Good. We just got this little guy back from service from renowned tech Ken Rich (kenrichsounds.com)
In Ken's words "It's the most fascinating piece of gear I've ever had in my shop". This says a lot as Ken's shop has seen the utmost of coolest organs, electric pianos, synths and drum machines in the world. See the quick video below that Ken took of it's operation without the wood box covering its amazing internals."

Korg MS-20/Boss DR-55/DSI Prophet 6 - Tascamitch

Published on Dec 4, 2016 Jae Ryan

"I have a friends DR-55 analog drum machine for a week and wanted to record a quick jam with it before I let it go. It sounds great. The person I got it off had a very small but neat cassette based studio and made me kind of miss the fidelity and restrictions that always came with such a set-up, so I set out to try and recreate that vibe in a DAW based environment.

All the instruments are recorded to UAD's Studer tape plug-in with the Cassette preset. The MS-20's baseline is hitting a Strymon Timeline in stereo and I am manually riding the feedback knob with my free hand during the jam. The DR-55 is hitting the trigger in on the MS-20 patch bay. The prophet 6 is the swirly held pad sound that comes in the beginning and fades on the end. I manually automated it after the fact to make it even more dizzy. The DR-55 is going to a 224 reverb with most of the high end chopped off!"

Bastl Instruments bitRanger ADDON boards - BITBOARD & SYNAPSIS & OMSynth miniLab

OMSynth miniLab

Published on Dec 5, 2016 Bastl Instruments

"The BitBoard is a breadboard add-on module that allows users to build custom circuits and user interfaces for the BitRanger. It is solidly attached to the bitRanger and provides performance friendly stability. It either comes just on its own, or with with 2 pots, 2 buttons and 4 switches which can help you to start designing your own bitRanger interface."

"The synapsis is a 4×4 pushbutton matrix that offers performative control of the Bit Ranger.

There are 8 patch points connected to 4 rows (ABCD) and 4 columns (1234) of buttons. Pressing button A1 connects point A to point 1. A2 connects A to 2. B2 connects B to 2 and so on."

"The OMSynth (Open Modular Synthesizer) is an electronic musical instrument development interface that embodies the ethos and technical methodology of modular synthesis but is designed specifically for inventors. One way this is achieved is by encouraging invention to start at the breadboard level. From here circuits can be built up to robust, road ready instruments. By starting at the breadboard circuits are cheap and flexible and the inventor is free to quickly build and change designs without fighting against a high level form factor.

FEATURES: 3 channel audio mixer 1 Watt audio amplifier and built in speaker and ¼” audio output jack 5 modular potentiometers 3 modular DPDT latching pushbuttons Circuit prototyping area"

Chris's 1972 minimoog Restoration (by Synthpro)

Published on Dec 5, 2016 synthpro

"Hey guys,

This is a video I made of a 1972 Minimoog I have restored for Chris.

On this video I actually do give you a walk through at the end of what work goes into a minimoog restore, its some work but the results are great.

The song: Wish you Were There, this was a track I recoreded that was heavily influenced by Pink Floyd's song, 'Welcome to the Machine'. I used my minimoog model D and my MFB dominion 1.

Thanks for watching and all he best,
Jareth"

Moog Minitaur - Custom Wood enclosure & Midi keyboard

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"What we have here is Moog Minitaur built into a custom wood enclosure.

The idea is to get the vibe of the original Moog synths, but with some of the modern features that the Minitaur has.

Minitaur is in great condition and functions and sounds exactly as it should, it's got the rack ears attached to be mounted into the enclosure.

Keyboard is an Alesis Q25, it was the smallest Midi keyboard I was able to find (at the time) that had a dedicated midi hookup to use with an analog synth. There is a small crack/blemish on one of the keys. It appears to be cosmetic only and does not impede the functionality of the synth/controller. The keyboard is held in place with velcro, and can be swapped out for another model if preferred, although the enclosure is made to accommodate this particular model.

The enclosure was handmade, it's stained a dark brown "walnut" like coloring to it. I forget the exact wood it was made of, but it's well constructed, and sturdy. Bottom of the enclosure is not stained. The enclosure it designed to hold a 3 space rack unit, so the Moog Minitaur or Moog Slim Phatty are both compatible."
