Dreadbox Nyx & Erebus sequenced by patchblocks
Published on Feb 6, 2017 dænkrø_ ElectriXity_
"First session with my favorite two DREADBOX' NYX and EREBUS.
The NYX provides some creamy 70s vintage style Leads. The Erebus is triggered by a patchblocks sequencer/arp patch which I redesigned to work with the KB-1 block.
Together they walk along the snowy road to Berlin School style. I had my fun that's for sure.
Hope you'll like it, too!!!
Share and enjoy!!"
Dog in the woods
Published on Feb 6, 2017 Jörg Schaaf
"I shot this video with the little campark 4K UHD extreme camera (ACT73R) with 60 frames/second 1080p. The footage has been edited in Final cut Pro. In most cases I added some coloring with the sepia filter plugin. Sounds are mainly from the Radikal Technologies Accelerator, RT-311 swarm oscillator, RT-451 multimode filter and the strymon timeline. The track has been published last year in summer for the first time and had a different name in the beginning. It was called "homage to the strymon timeline delay". In this video I did some doggy overdubs and added some complex pad work at the very end. BTW.: For the close to ground and tree detail footage I used a simple selfie stick ;-)"

A quick jam using a 3 oscillator patch on the Mother 32 voice. Everything is clocked from the Yocto.
The computer is just for recording, no compression or effects, other than the live reverb and delay running from the Lexicon through the mixing desk."

Twisted Electrons Acid8 - Demos
Twisted Electrons Acid8 MKII – sound demo
Published on Sep 5, 2016 Malte Feld
"Cycling through the sounds and features of the acid8 by twisted electrons, a powerful and very original digital/analog hybrid 8bit acid synth. Super portable, great build quality.
It features a total of 16 waveforms, based on the four wave shapes:
0:00 Rectangle: Prophet, Distorted, SID, Perfect Rectangle
1:20 Triangle: NEW, Prophet, SID, 3-BIT Triangle
2:16 Sawtooth: Prophet, TB-303, SID, 3-BIT Saw
3:33 Sine: Pure, Overtone Sine, Acoustic Guitar, Piano
Functions include:
4:40 Bit flipping
5:32 Env mod to pitch
5:52 Swing
Fx demonstrated:
7:06 Arpeggiator
7:30 Pulse-width modulation
8:02 Crush:
- clockwise: sample rate reduction
- counter clockwise: bit depth reduction
8:26 Accent oscillator
Finishing with a little jam starting at 9:00 until the camera stops recording."

"I made this because there aren't enough video's of this great device.
The bassdrum is made by a Machinedrum, it's synced with midi.
Audio is recorded on a Zoom H4N."

Korg ARP Odyssey Bagpipe (ish) Patch
Published on Aug 15, 2016 Doug Plate
"Goofing around with the Korg ARP Odyssey, stumbled on this bagpipe-like patch, so added the marching drums to finish the effect. Some chorus/reverb is added, but don't remember if that was from the Behringer mixer or the Alesis Nanoverb. The drum pattern is from a Yamaha PSR-530."
Korg ARP Odyssey with External Audio Input from Casio SA-76
Published on Oct 3, 2016 Doug Plate
"Since I got my Odyssey, I've tried running various different keyboards into the Ext Audio Input to process through the VCF/VCA. Until now, everything I tried ended up sounding noisy or distorted (and not in a good way).
I recently picked up a Casio SA-76 at the thrift store and was surprised at how great the keyboard sounded through headphones, so gave it a try. It seems like a perfect match and comes through the Odyssey filter sounding really thick.
A Beatstep is controlling the Odyssey note sequence and there's lots of modulation on the filter - including Oscillator 1 in LF mode -affecting oscillator 2 and the SA-76 coming through it.
I won't apologize for the thrift store gear, but I will apologize for the length of the video: probably about 3 times longer than needed! I guess I was just enthralled by the sound of my own filter!
Recorded using the Audio Recorder in my Casio Privia Pro PX-5S because it's just so convenient."
Sequencer Control of Korg ARP Odyssey Filter (The Easy Way)
Published on Sep 12, 2016 Doug Plate
"Here is an updated, short video featuring the Korg ARP Odyssey and the Casio PX-5S showing and an easy way to control the Korg Arp Odyssey filter using a control voltage sequencer like the Beatstep. Just use a normal 1/8" to 1/4" adapter to connect sequencer CV Out to ARP Pedal input.
The Rhodes sound is supplied by the amazing Casio Privia PX-5S which also served as the audio recorder.
The question came up - why not just use the CV-In jack to control the filter from the sequencer? As this video demonstrates, in this configuration, the filter can be controlled by the sequencer while the oscillators notes are controlled by the keyboard producing a pseudo-polyphonic or multitimbral effect. Using CV-In, the oscillators would follow the sequencer also."
Casio PX-5S and Suzuki Omnichord

"In this video, I am controlling my PX-5S synthesizer with a Suzuki Omnichord OM-300 hooked up via MIDI. The audio of the Omnichord is patch into the PX-5S and everything is recorded using the PX-5S built in recorder."
Korg ARP Odyssey Singing Patch Jam featuring PX-5S, Alesis SR18
Published on Feb 1, 2017 Doug Plate
"This is a little jam song I did to demonstrate an Odyssey patch that shows off some of the not-so-obvious modulations that give this synth its unique sound. The backing track features a stock Alesis SR18 bass/drums pattern and the amazing sound of the Casio Privia PX-5S. Enjoy! Also featured are the Alesis Quadraverb and Tascam DP-008EX digital multi-track recorder. The Odyssey patch settings are shown in the video."
Korg ARP Odyssey "Singing" Patch
Published on Jan 27, 2017 Doug Plate
"This is a patch that has a subtle vocal quality. I think the patch settings are fairly visible in the video, but some notes: Osc 1 is in it's lowest possible in-tune tuning with Osc 2 synced and several octaves higher. A little touch of S/H on the Osc 2 freq. and the filter freq. that is triggered by the keyboard to add a little random variation to the patch. Gate Out patched to Trig In on the back panel for single-triggering (legato playing doesn't re-trigger the envelope). Also CV Out patched to CV In for true monophonic keyboard response. I switch between Sine and Square wave LFO on Osc 1 and use the slider as modulation control. Also use Osc 1 ADSR modulation slider for pitch bend in some places instead of the pads. The echo effect is provided by Alesis Quadraverb.
This was a very expressive patch and so, as usual, I got carried away and made this video WAY TOO LONG!"
