Waldorf Blofeld melodic synth demo

Published on Apr 12, 2018 once upon a synth

"Musical demo of the Waldorf Blofeld Synthesizer. I cycle through a few of my favorite patches (some I made, some stock) and improvise some melodies. The Blofeld is a digital synth that features many types of synthesis like virtual analog subtractive, FM, wavetable, sample and physical modeling. I focus more on relaxing smoother patches in this video with the occasional harsher sound thrown in for balance."

East End Dubs’ custom studio is a cutting-edge synth paradise

Published on Apr 12, 2018 FACTmagazine

"A studio unlike any we’ve ever seen.

London-based techno producer East End Dubs popped up back in 2012 releasing deep house on Kote Records and hasn’t taken a breath since, self-releasing over a dozen EPs on his own East End Dubs Recordings label and curating the Eastenderz imprint while DJing all over the globe.

East End Dubs is also a serious hardware enthusiast. Back in 2015 he decided to remodel a room in his house and convert it into a proper studio complete with cutting-edge synths, modular gear and drum machines. He even dug two feet under the floor to create an air gap for optimum acoustics. Now that’s dedication."

P.S. Created a new Synth Studios label for these moving forward. I'll update previous post with the label as I see them. Until then you can check out the interview label and search on keywords like studio tour and so on.

SERGE WAD+GE PITCH&ENV FOLLOWER @EMS

Published on Apr 11, 2018 noyzelab

"A quick iphone recording during a Rainwire [Processed] session on the Serge modular at EMS Stockholm. I'm sending out a Rainwire recording into the Serge / Gentle Electric Pitch & Envelope Follower. This is extracting control signals for a large patch on the Serge, mainly centred around the Wilson Analog Delay. Both of those named modules are ultra-rare, and I was super lucky to be able to have these sessions using them!

Recorded June 2017 at EMS Sweden during my Regional Arts Fellowship. This Regional Arts Fellowship is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW.

More details on the Rainwire project can be found here: http://rainwire-project.blogspot.com.au/

Thanks to absolutely everybody at EMS!!"

Testing https...

Just a heads up, I'll be testing Bloggers' https settings for a little bit. Some site functionality like the archives page might not work. Posts should be fine. This site doesn't require login so https is technically not necessary, however, the internet...  If I can get everything working I will keep https on, if not we'll go back to http.

Update: After a few tweaks it looks like it is working.  Https it is.  If anyone notices any problems with the site, let me know either via the comments or the email icon on the bottom right of the site.  I'll leave this post up for that reason, and as a bookmark on when the site switched to https.

Update2: Recent comments weren't working.  They are now fixed.  I also noticed the site was a bit slower to load over https but it seems to be getting better over time. I'm guessing images just needed to get cached again. If you experience the same give it a few visits for things to cache.

Jomox Alpha Base "in the mix" - Oberheim Matrix-1000, Novation Peak, Deluge, Acidbox

Published on Apr 11, 2018 Charles Whiley

"Here we have a simple 4 on the floor kick drum sequence running from the Jomox Alpha Base analog drum synthesizer. This is my very first attempt at sending MIDI clock to it and integrating it with the rest of my gear. The shaker/hat sound is not the Alpha Base but rather is coming from the Synthstrom Deluge's internal drum samples. The bass line is the Oberheim Matrix-1000 w/ Stereoping controller, Erica Synths AcidBox II, and the TC Electronics G-Major effects processor. The melodic line is the Novation Peak."
